If anyone is looking to pickup a copy of Wartech , I have a sealed copy on my tradelist. :shameless plug:

To stay on topic , I just sent back :ps2:Quantum of Solace to gamefly. Game was a decent Gears of War lite clone , but some of the boss battles were really frustrating , and the game was pretty short.

Also just started Ninety Nine Nights. It's ok , but I'm probably just going to play a mission or 2 each day so that the tedium doesn't get to me.

Anyone know about how long Blitz : The League is?

Another question:

Is "You're in the Movies" worth trying or should I just trade it now.
I think it's very worth it. It's a pretty unique game-- a fighting game shmup....literally. The controls are a bit awkward to get used to, since each ship controls differently. It's a fun one to have on your shelf for the occasional playthrough, but there is no online community.
Yeah, interesting concept from what I've read. I'll try it.

I was in elementary school in the mid/late 90s. EVERYONE at my school was into Pokemon.

The last one I played was Ruby...kind of interested in this Gold/Silver remake honestly.

I just missed the Pokemon craze. but my 11 year old nephew is nuts about it. He only has a GBA right now, but I um...rented... platinum for him. The past two times he has been over, he has played for like 5 hours straight until the battery died in my DS

I watched him play and was amazed that it's a lot like Nocturne, in terms of the battle system focusing strictly on weaknesses, trapping enemies, and teaching skills.

I might try it out some day, but you'll never know because I'll never admit it.

I thought my kids might enjoy it, but they weren't as amused as I thought they'd be. At least, they haven't specifically asked to ever play it again. Thank goodness it was only $10 for that and the camera. :p
Another question:

Worth trying if:

1.You can set up a room/play area to make proper use of it (since for the game to work effectively it essentially requires a green screen type setup).

2.You can get a group of people to play with you , since its more fun as a party type game.

If you can do one or both of these , then give it a go , if not then I'd say dump it.

For me the pokemon craze hit during middle school/early high school. I loved the original game but for some reason could never get into Gold/Silver/Crystal.

I've really wanted to get back into pokemon since Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald , but can never get enough interest together to keep playing the games. I'm kinda hoping that Diamond/Pearl/Platinum will do that , since everyone has been saying its the best game since some of the older ones.

So I'm looking into maybe a MacBook Pro for college in the fall? Is this GGT-recommended? Anyone want to play "assist the guy with no computer knowledge"?

They did a good job of changing the metagame during each generation.

Gold/Silver/Crystal: Special Attack/Defense are two different stats.
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: Pokemon get "abilities."
Pearl/Diamond/Plat: Physical/Special moves are more defined (Thunderpunch is now a physical move instead of a special move, for example).

I'm a Red, Blue, Green, and sometimes Yellow kind of Pokemon fan.
Don't care about any of the others.

I wish they were remaking Blue/Red instead of Gold/Silver.

---

Starknight, thanks, I'm dumping it.
And your Galaga tip worked.

Funny thing a couple games later and I ended up accidentally shooting it, haha, I couldn't believe it.

I also remembered the other way to shoot it.
Kill the enemy holding the ship while he's "parked" at the top. You won't get your ship back, and instead it will fly at you and shoot.
You can kill it then, or if you miss it, it'll come back next level and fire again.

the only thing I was impressed with in terms of the game "Your in the Movies" that I played for 10 min was that the tech behind the green screen techniques is impressive. other than that, fuck it.

In fear of reading all the leaked info about E3, I'm thinking of going on a media blackout. I'm not sure though... seems like this day in age everything gets leaked onto the internet, removes some of the excitement. *shrug*

But that would be kinda silly , since they just remade Red/Blue.

I read a few people mention that about shooting at the ship when its still at the top of the stage , and every time I tried that I always ended up getting the dual fighter. I guess it was getting ready to dive at me each time I shot it.

You working on the games on the Namco Museum Virtual Arcade collection? I just finished Ms.Pac-Man and Galaga the other day. I'm still working on the original pac-man. Trying to get Perfect is a pain. Haven't even started the other games.

I don't expect too many leaks but in about a week is when you'll start seeing more and more talks.

randomly saying this with no faith in the info but PS3 might get a surprise firmware update at E3. don't hold me to it or anyone.

Aww, sorry to hear that Azumangamang.

I love my cat and I can't imagine how I'd be if something happened to him. He was sitting on my desk playing with me when I read that and I was all *sadface*

RIP, Whiskers (or whatever your cat was named).

Ahw, I'm sorry. That is a pretty good age though - he must have lived a happy life!

Thanks guys,

I'd like to think he was happy. His name was Cuddles (yeah, I know) but it really sucked because he was fine this morning and I came home from the gym and my mom was-teary eyed delivering the news. I actually fell to the floor I was so devastated.
I also feel bad for our other cat (Chip) because he was sitting next to his body for a long time......

But enough sadness. My desktop is a picture of Cuddles and I so I guess I should be celebrating his life and all....

I'm just trying to keep my mind off him for a bit.
Here's a picture of him from a few years ago

He's just waking up for that extra cuteness.

I was smack dab in the middle of the Pokecraze. I played Red religiously (NEVER Blue), and then Silver after that. That was the last one I really cared about playing, though I owned (and still do) a LOT of Pokemon trading cards.

I remember my grandparents went on vacation and brought be back a gift: Pokemon Blue.

And I was all, "WTF is a Pokemons?"

And sure enough within a month the whole school was OH! SHIT SON! GOTTA GET ME A MEW!

My school also banned Pokemon games and cards eventually because they caused arguments, 99% of which were probably kids not comprehending "no trade-backs".

Sorry to hear that azumang :(

They're very nice. If you plan to take notes with it, you might want to go for a smaller model so it fits on your desk. If you don't plan on gaming on it (i.e. dual-booting windows for games because there aren't many on mac) or using artist programs, you might want to consider downgrading to the entry level macbook. They all basically run perfectly with few hitches, unless you plan to run tons of resource intensive graphic design/video editing/music making programs. Actually, definitely downgrade if you aren't doing the above things, unless you like burning hundreds of dollars.

I never got into pokemon until early college

only reason why was because I worked at an alarm company and we had time to kill during work hours with portable gaming... so my friend said that if I got pokemon he would and we would trade shit and play together. made work really fun. i did get addicted though... at the same time playing it (GBA Ruby) that time was enough pokemon for me... don't think I'll ever go back to it.

weird now that I think about it... I got hooked on CAG because of that job. Friend, who also posts here on CAG, showed it to me.

That's sadness. I remember when my
duck
died. Losing a pet is always sadness.
Well, I think it is time you get Platinum Rolento. Accept it!
platinum looked good but I personally don't give a shit about all the new pokemon.

the new gold silver I'll probably get instead.

Klonoa is fun, colorful, and cute. I like that they didn't try to shoehorn waggle into the general controls, but the Wiimote/nunchuk is so uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time. Curse you, Nintendo and your freaking gimmicks.

I'm sorry to hear that, a bit late, I know. My last cat died 7 years ago from leukemia, and he was 7 at the time. My current cat is a fat ass fuck, and he's 7 now.

The only advice I would add on top of that would be go to with one of the Aluminum unibody Macbooks and not the lowest white one. If you're going to be using it for four years, the white ones have a plastic body that loves to crack over time. With the aluminum Macbook, you'll be getting better durability and still a better price than the MBP.

Okay let me just say im playing through silent hill homecoming (9.99 best buy game ftw) and beside one puzzle which almost ruined the game for me (attic puzzle) this game is on par or a little less than silent hill 1. I don't know why it got bad reviews.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of that attic puzzle either, but I was otherwise happy with the game. The melee combat works for me, but the guns not so much. They break the boss fights (especially the last one) a bit too much for my liking.

And yeah, playing through the Namco thing. Send me a FR so I can check your progress.

So I've been thinking about a lowball sale since I have no money and it seems to work very well for everybody else.

I'm just worried that I would get a very small amount for my DS and PSP.
Theres a DS in a lowball sale right now at $63, which is a lot considering it doesn't end for another 4 days.
How much do you think I'd get for a DS or PSP in a lowball?

Ds lite or Phat ds?

I could see a perfectly good phat ds go for 50-60 shipped and that a good deal for both seller and buyer. A ds lite could go for 70-90 shipped and once again good for both seller and buyer.

I would put some bids up for these ...

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Darkstalkers
Death Jr.
J'eanne D'arc
LocoRoco
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror [Sealed]
Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
Lumines II

I'd bid a dollar more than mak on everything.

Infamous IGN review:

In December, I played Infamous for the first time and told you that it was awesome. Five months later, I'm standing by that statement and backing it up with about 30 hours of playtime. Cole's powers are cool, the graphic novel cutscenes are stunning, the story is intriguing, and the city is alive. I could go on and on about this game -- about my hunt for the final few Blast Shards, about the sick joy in blasting a pedestrian and then sucking his bio-energy, about the subtle Sly Cooper references -- but to truly appreciate what Sucker Punch has created, you'll have to sit down and play this game.

Infamous is amazing.

I didn't even notice that. That can't be right can it? I'm skeptical as well.

And curses to you dallow_bg and your devious plot to out do my hypothetical bids.

GTA4 took 20 or so without really doing side missions and skipping all the friendship dates and the like. I could see 30ish for a sandbox game where you intend to do everything -- but not for the main story.

Yeah, I'm sure the 'Blast Shard' things are optional collectibles, like power orbs in Crackdown.

My guess is inFAMOUS' story length leans more towards Crackdown length than GTA4 length.

With these "graphic novel" cut scenes, maybe the 30 hours depends on your level of reading comprehension. :)

Well it was an IGN review...now we know how they got the 30 hour number.
