i need to get rid of my metroid prime 3 copy now that metroid prime trilogy is coming out...
Beg your pardon?
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this game. Which part of the boss are you having a hard time with, first or second? Took me a couple tries, but once you get the pattern down and switch up the weapons quickly enough, it gets to be a smooth ride.
The game surprised me too. It's a pretty good metroid style clone. It's also challenging , but not too much. I kinda dread the thought of Hard/Insane/ Ultra mode though.

The first part isn't that bad. It takes a while but is simple enough. It's the second part that gets me. You spend all the time chasing your clones to keep him from doing his ultimate attack , which he still always end up getting off on me anyway. Half the time the clones end up vanishing and I can't find them to kill them until he's already made the 3 needed for the ultimate. It's how long the fight is that gets me.

The last time I fought him I got down to half a bar left and died. :[

and press release
THREE INCREDIBLE GAMES JUST GOT MORE AWESOME: METROID PRIME TRILOGY HEADS TO WII

All Three Critically Acclaimed Games Now Feature Motion Controls with Enhanced Presentation and In-Game Rewards

REDMOND, Wash., May 22, 2009 - Metroid™ Prime 3: Corruption set a new standard for first-person motion controls in video games. Now it's bringing those controls to the rest of the celebrated series, allowing players to experience the entire Metroid Prime story arc with the peerless precision of the Wii Remote™. Nintendo announces Metroid Prime Trilogy, a new premium three-game collection for the Wii™ console that bundles all three landmark Metroid Prime games onto one disc and revamps the first two installments with intuitive motion controls, wide-screen presentation and other enhancements. Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available exclusively for Wii on Aug. 24 at a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Each game maintains its original storyline and settings, but now Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes let players use their Wii Remote to aim with precision as heroine Samus Aran. Based on the breakthrough control system that debuted in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, these new Wii controls bring an entirely new level of immersion and freedom to these milestone games.

"Metroid Prime Trilogy puts the best first-person adventures all in one place, with a host of new additions that make these three timeless titles more engaging than ever," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "A great deal of care and detail has gone into Metroid Prime Trilogy, providing longtime fans with new ways to experience the games they love."

All three games now reside on a single disc. Players can access the game they want from a unified main menu that ties together all three adventures. Through a new unlockables system, players can gain access to in-game rewards such as music and artwork by accomplishing objectives across all three games.

Metroid Prime Trilogy was developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo, the same developers that created the original games for the Nintendo GameCube™ and Wii systems.

Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other Wii features, visit Wii.com.

edit:damn!

So I guess they decided to do that , instead of releasing the first 2 metroid prime games again as "new play control" titles. Maybe they didn't think re-releases of Prime 1 & 2 wouldn't sell very well?

This will work out pretty well for me since I still need to play through Prime 2 & 3.

There is a vid to help you out on that, a bit suicidal but it's simple :)

Of course I didn't go that route, I made it a lot more dramatic, chasing the clones, dodging bullets, and lookin' cool

I wish a sequel would come out, I'd be interested to see where it goes.

The ending/credits music is too catchy ^_^ (Spoilers!)

I might give that tactic a try. Thanks.

Which of these 2 wii games should I get , Madworld or HotD : Overkill?

So the last thing that's troubling me about the Lowball is whether I should put my DS Lite up. The last one went for $68. That works out to about $76 CDN. Would I get a lot more on eBay? I don't even know the TIV at EB but I'm sure its $50 ot $60.
I want to put my psp up, but I'm looking for a specific part that I can't sell without it...

Soooo, does anyone have a soundtrack request of any kind that they can't find or is too lazy to look for? ;)

Give me something to do! I don't feel like playing games and not having a job sucks. DMC, Lumines, KZ2, Rondo Of Blood, Ys, DJ Max, etc.. I'm looking at a big list

There really much of a reason you need to play 2... Still this is a pretty nice deal. I got annoyed at MP3 and got rid of it(kind of regret it now) and was somewhat interested in getting Metroid Prime for the Wii. But $50 for all 3 games? I'm sold. Even if I'll probably never touch MP2 again.
The last boss in Scurge:Hive is really starting to piss me off. I've died on him like 3 times now. I'm going to put the game aside for a day or so and come back to it and hopefully then I'll be able to beat him (worked for me before in other games).
I realy should get back to that game. I pick it up for like $10 for the DS and liked it.
The story for Scurge: Hive sounds an awful lot like Metroid. How is the game though?
It's Metroid with a topdown camera angle.
really? you shoulda asked me, I've been all over the game ever since release... still super happy it's getting a US release :bouncy:
Yea, I played the demo and it was fun. I had dl'd the theme years ago and kept it on the PSP ever since. I wanted to experiment with other themes but had move the namaikida file around and "lost" it on my HDD, so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it again since I forgot where I obtained it in the first place.

Can't wait for the game to come state side though!

Scurge:Hive can be a bit frustrating at times, but it can be amazingly fun to play. Different weapon types can either do normal or higher damage on enemies depending on what they're weak against, but it can also make the enemy stronger and faster, so there's some experimenting with combat.

Hah, I was struggling to find a copy of Tales Of Vesperia only to learn it was coming to the PS3 also >.>
So yea, it's hard keeping up with all the VG news...

Damn Wiimotes are expensive.
I want a second so me and the lady can play the shooters together.

I'm so glad I got the Asian version of Aquanaut's Holiday because it has the English manual the Korean version is missing.
Unlike Hakuna Matata, it's a nice thick booklet, with a really nice cover and colored pages. Very classy. Paper feels nice too.

I did order the Korean version of Hakuna Matata though, that's missing the 2 page English insert and I hope I can refind that scan of it.
Azumanaknight, sell me your DS Lite for a price so low you won't believe you sold it so cheap.
In Japan. So far there has been no word on the US release. If you waited this long you can wait until E3/TGS and see if we hear anything if not you might as well look for a 360 copy again(unless you feel like importing it).

I've only waited so long because I picked up a 360 just recently ;)

I'm pretty much assuming a US release will come along since it's been announced for the PS3 anyways and because games like Enchanted Arms and Eternal Sonata have gone the same route.
I like how I bid ten bucks each on 3 different games, and everyone else after bids 1 dollar on other items.
Hmm...
I really don't mind :)
I made a typo and added the "0".

jk
Those GBA games do have the box and manual right?
You know it! I took a picture of 3 games, I'm working on locating Mario and Luigi:cool::cool:
I'll upload the pictures later
I'm pretty much assuming a US release will come along since it's been announced for the PS3 anyways and because games like Enchanted Arms and Eternal Sonata have gone the same route.
I'm still extremely doubtful about it getting released over here. Unlike in Japan, the Tales games don't really sell that well over here. I can see them just skipping over it and then wait to bring over the new Tales game for the Wii.

I'm trying to be positive :(

I do realize they've screwed us out of some of the better Tales Of games, like the PS2 remakes of ToD1 and 2 >.>
I'm trying to be positive :(
I prefer to be negative. That why if it comes over I'm surprised and if it doesn't I can just say I knew it would never happen. :)

Red Faction demo is really fun. More fun than Brave Fencer Musashi. Gonna shelve that one for now, it's pretty fun but really simplistic. I would never have believed Squaresoft made it.
I'm pretty sure Namco will bring the PS3 Tales game over here.
Namco can be very pick about what Tales games they bring over.

If anyone wants a DS Lite, I've got one up for sale. CML. Comes with 12 games all complete, the box, and a carrying case.

So I have a sealed copy of Persona 4 and a sealed copy of Valkyria Chronicles sitting here. What do I play first?
Considering this would be the "first" PS3 Tales game, I'm more confident about a US port.
I'm not exactly sure how that gives you more confidence(Based on that logic we should have atleast one Tales DS game by now)...

On a completely random note I was listening to retroforceGO. And they noticed that a Google Image search for for Silver Star Chess brings up that pic from gunm's sig

Hank: P4, if you've got a month to spare.
The story for Scurge: Hive sounds an awful lot like Metroid. How is the game though?
It's alright. Quite skippable.

I thought the ball was in Nintendo's court regarding bringing over the last Tales DS game. At least, that was the last I heard of it.

wait wait... people who beat played P4, have you beaten Valkyrie Chronicles as well?

I have yet to play persona 4, but I'm just wondering how even that viewpoint is

on a side note though, I think you can play both at once since Valkyrie can easily be played in chunks. I spent about 5 months playing Valkyrie off and on, and don't feel like I've missed out on anything... and this was between playing a ton of other games in between with college work on top of that.
What does CML stand for?
Yeah, I don't think you could really say whether one game is better, since they are both exceptional within their genres (I haven't played P4 yet, but I am playing P3, so I know the general game type). I think it really depends on personal preferences as far as those 2 games go, because personally, I think Valkyria Chronicles is the best game I've played in a couple years.
What's nice about VC too is that you can even save the game pretty much whenever, if you want.
I really liked this about the game. Sure the game demands alot of time to commit to it, but its time you can play in your own set of chunks. Also the leveling and inventory system is great; straight to the point and not a nightmare.

While I don't think VC is the greatest game, I loved it, mainly due to the perfect cast. I've never loved a group of characters in a game like I have in VC, plus a non-one dimensional hero was a real breath of fresh air.

I gotta still play persona, but I think if I like it it'll be for entirely different reasons.
