Well, the only systems to have died or started to die on me have been the Wii (twice) and now, seemingly, the PS3. Launch SNES, PS1, PS2, and GC still truckin'. (and a year and half old 360 doing ok)

I think I've been pretty lucky.

My only real concern is getting all my copy protected game saves onto a new slimmer PS3.

Hey, it plays movies just fine!
And it's not a bad media server either.

I don't know, I have to test more games out, but Batman is messing up on it. Textures just flash blue all the time for no reason.
I put a video on youtube of the problem I'm seeing of it.

I haven't been paying attention. Does the PS3 Slim lose all the USB ports and memory card slots that the good PS3's had?
lol, i like it, very stupid decision. Soon your achievement points will not go onto your gamercard if you have silver.

PS3 hasn't had memory card slots since the days of the launch 60GB - and even then it was the 60GB (not the 20) that had them.
I think my PS3 is dying. (gpu is failing)

:(

My launch baby!
:( :( :(

Beware the YLOD! :(

I was able to get my 60GB running long enough to back up, deactivate, and sell.

It was a sad day :/
Geez, I could care less about Facebook and Twitter. I'm sure there are people that do but it holds no interest for me whatsoever.

Now putting Hulu on the 360 would be useful.
Agreed, the controller sucks for typing so it would be a pain to use if I were interested.

Already have Hulu on the 360. :D

Yeah I know it's possible, but I'm lazy so I want it on a blade :). Mind you I got videos streaming off my PC to my 360 easy enough so I guess I could probably do it.
Finished Batman. Probably going to do a playthrough of it on hard and definitely going to go through all the challenge rooms.
I took a Batman break today.

Started up Killzone 2 and made it through the first level. So far it's really good, and seems to be worth the 35.00 I spent on it.
Is YLOD related to the GPU?
As far as I can tell, it's just Batman messing up.

I'll try a few more games tonight.
CPU and GPU I believe, but don't hold me to it, just for positive thinking :)

Just make sure your stuff is backed up, although I'm pretty sure you do that anyways ;O

Does your PS3 whirrr a lot? That was the most noticeable difference for me.
Says who, Dullow?
Couple different people.

There's a different activation screen for PSP.
The PS3 says the info about having 5 activated consoles.
The PSP one I believe mentions just the 1.
Sean. I think I got an answer.
5 PS3 systems + 1 PSP.
Can't be just 1 PSP, I have Suikoden on two PSPs right now.
so is the original puzzle quest worth 400 pts?
looks like its going to be the deal of the week during the 2nd week of september
If you don't already own it and don't want a portable version of it, then yeah, $5 is a fine price for Puzzle Quest.

Damn postal strikes. Won't get Batman for a while. :(

On another note, Argos phoned me today and said that my PS3 Slim will be delivered soon. I didn't order a PS3 Slim.

...FREE PS3 SLIM! :D
Can't be just 1 PSP, I have Suikoden on two PSPs right now.
Well I don't know what the hell to believe now.

guess i'll pick it up then espcially since i just won 400 pts
also lode runner will be on sale the next week and its definitely worth a look
i already got it at the sale price thanks to the price mistake

Speaking of the PSP I was thinking of picking up that Dissidia Bundle but it doesn't even have cases for the UMDs so I guess I'll just skip it since not having a case will get on my nerves. I can get a normal PSP 3000 and wait for a price drop on Dissidia.

And I've been playing Batman: AA. It's pretty fun... but I keep getting sidetracked with the Riddler's Challenges. I also thought that the Bane fight was kind of a let down...

Well, I called Sony and he assured me I would get my exact model back if they aren't able to fix my 20GB.

He said in the past stock was pretty low for a while but they have a good amount of the original units to give people if their unit cannot be repaired.

Very happy to hear that, the Slim can wait a little longer.

I'd get a slim if I had a reason but my 60gb is still kickin it good though I think it's time for an HDD upgrade since I'm starting to lose a ton of space even after deleting alot.

Also, GTA: Chinatown Wars coming to PSP. Screens look better than the DS version, but PSP can do a "real" GTA game world--not sure I care for old school top down game play for the series any more. I dunno, I might consider it if the controls hold up.

It looks pretty good

Plus, the DS version is supposed to be excellent so it might be worth checking out.
