For BF I think I'm going to look into scoring a PC for cheap. Something I can upgrade as I go. Time to do some searching...
I want a cheap desktop for BF... not sure if I can find anything though.
I've found two decent ones. I'm not sure which one I may bite on though. I feel like these are good foundations to work with for like an upgradeable piece. In case you're interested One and Two
I just randomly got into the Home beta. Cool! I guess?
100000 people just did. load testing, i guess. shame i won't download it anytime soon. :D

Thanks for the links Ahadi, I'll check em later... I'm mainly looking for something small I can dump windows XP on and turn into a server for the home network (file, print, etc.).

Number two is the one for you then.

And I got in to Home Beta as well. I guess I'll dl it tonight.

Home is quite amusing too. I started doing the running man dance in front of the music station and had like 10 people standing next to me doing it, like we were on stage or something. :)

It's kinda intriguing, but I don't think I'd spend a whole lot of time on it.

I'm going to try to play through Dead Space next.
CoD: World at War is actually pretty good. Not great, but good.
For those of you that know Gwen, she wanted me to ask for those that know her to offer up well-wishes and prayers for her and her family, as they're going through a rough patch at the moment.

I don't have any details, though I was asked to post in here and make the request.
Thanks for the heads up shrike.

Hang in there gwen, hope everything is ok.

I think it will be interesting for me the second time because I'm going to put on the elite suit and start using all those weapons I have that I haven't touched. :)
Maybe I'll up the difficulty too, to the epic level 3 engineer one.

I didn't get a Home invite but someone gave me their code randomly.

It's pretty ridiculous. I got two club invites, one from Richlough for CAG's club, and semi-random one from someone I have on my friends list.

I entered the club, he told me to have a seat, so I did.
Then we danced, then we went bowling.

It's pretty weird.
And the face editor is very, very deep if you want it to be. I didn't spend much time with it as it was taking too long.

Yeah, I saw a lot of people dancing in it too. Very strange, but I laughed.

Did you see a tall black guy with pink glasses and a white mohawk? ;)

So I'm not too impressed with Home thus far. Character creation was meh... I mean, they give you a facial hair option, but like, a viking metal mustache and early 20th century German 'staches? C'mon now.... And I've been waiting for like 5 minutes to download the "Central Plaza". I hope these are things that are going to be worked out in the final build.

And my LBP level is coming along swimmingly. I've got about 30 seconds of gameplay. Twisted Fairy Tale ftw. My crowning achievement in my level is my exploding "Grama's House" sign. Pure genius.

GGT ... Rise from your grave

Maklershed:

'Morning GGT. My husband's been kicking my ass in Dokapon Kingdom. We started the story mode over last night after Thursday night's game where, while learning the ropes, I was kicking his ass. Hmm...

Somehow need to get back at him today  I'm able to use Dark Spaces, but don't yet know what they do.

I played some more LBP last night. I must say that I HATE the bunker level. This is about the 5th time I tried and failed this level. It's to the point where I'm getting ready to throw my controller.

I also played some more ToS2... I'm starting to regret buying it. I'll give it one my chance to grab me before getting rid of it.
I'm just glad that if my 360 dies now, I won't have to wait for a new one to come in, because microsoft fucked over early adopters! Yay!
How did they fuck over early adopters?

On a similar note, people that come and trade in broken/abused/not very well taken care of shit deserve to be curb stomped in their genitals and don't deserve to reproduce. How goddamn hard is it to take care of your shit?

I bought my console on launch day. Since then, I've had to return it 3 times. Each time, I've been sent back a refurbished console that was doomed to red ring again. That was fine when I had a warranty, but now that their 3 year band-aid fix is up, I'm fucked when I get the inevitable red ring.

I'm really tempted just to trade it in now and buy a new one before it breaks, so I don't have to try to towel trick it into working to trade it in.

I told you you could get an extended warranty for pretty cheap. Why didn't you do it?

i got best buys warranty and its worked wonders for me....other than the the 2nd year in a row that i missed out on the holiday bundle
last year i got my 360 right before the bundle came out
this year my 360 died and i replaced it right before the holiday bundle was out..
I told you you could get an extended warranty for pretty cheap. Why didn't you do it?
Because I figured it would make more sense to just get a new one, and because I couldn't find out how to do it.
Why are we still trying to defend the 360's shitty build quality?
I'm not trying to defend it, but I will say the only other consoles that have shittier build quality, are the PS2 and the genesis.

I don't remember nearly everyone's PS2 crapping out. Yeah, it wasn't the most reliable hardware by any stretch of the imagination, but the 360's pretty much unprecedented in the realm of faulty hardware.

Eh, whatever. Guess it doesn't matter all that much. I'm really more annoyed by the whole "exclusive DLC" shit on the 360 than the shitty hardware at this point. There's always a problem, it seems.

Back to Xenogears it is for the rest of the day.

One week till I get my Saturn.

Oh, I wasn't going off of hardware reliability, but rather the build of the hardware. For shittiest built console, it's really a tie between the genesis and PS2.

But for hardware reliability, yeah, the 360 is in a league of it's own shittyness. Though, DRE's were a bitch.

DREs on the PS2 would definitely suck, though it actually happened to me on my 360, and that brought me to be on my third 360. I used my BB warranty on the first one, because the power brick made a really, really annoying high-pitched squealing noise (sorta like Rei's wife), and it eventually started smelling like something was burning. So... that could've been bad. Probably was best to get rid of that one.

On the bright side, I luvz me some Gears 2. The single player was really pretty awesome.

Alright, now back to Xenogears for real. 20...21 hours in in like 3 days or something. Totally worth playing through a second time.

Though I still need to play my copy of Vagrant Story for the first time, because I'm stupid and a lamebot. Square should really just release an anthology of all of their good PS1 games. I guarantee you it'll be better than anything they ever make now.

Kisses launch PS2.
I do understand people had a lot of issues with DRE. But the box itself seemed good.

Though mine wouldn't read Taiko Drum Master until I put some cellophane tape on the middle of the disc.

Reminded me of when I used to turn my PSX upside down. (actually, i still do if i ever play it)
Sweet, I also got a Japanese Namco Museum Home Beta code.

Time to unlock Namco stuff and arcades.
Pac Man is boring. So is Galaga, Pole Position, Mappy, Xevious, Rally-X, Bosconian, Toy Pop, Galpus, Grobda, Dragon Buster, Super Pac-Man, Cutie Q, Bomb Bee, Galaxian, Dig Dug, Ms. Pac Man, Pole Position II, The Tower of Druaga, Phozon, Pac-Land, Assault, Ordyne, The Return of Ishtar, Genji and the Heike Clans, Assault Plus, Pac-Mania, Dragon Spirit, Metro-Cross, Baraduke, The Legend of Valkyrie, Rolling Thunder, Dig Dug II, King & Balloon, Pac Man Vs, Pac-Attack, Pac & Pal, Motos, Sky Kid, Sky Kid Deluxe, and basically anything else Namco did in that era.

What is the appeal of these shitty, shitty games? I'll never understand that, or why people revere Tetris as one of the greatest games ever. It's so borrriiiinnnngggg.

My Christmas 2001 PS2 has had one DRE, and I fixed it myself. On the other hand, I've had 3 360s, and the last one didn't even get the RRoD. The DVD drive completely failed and wouldn't read anything. My current one is on its way out it seems, DVD drive again. At least I installed GoW2 so I can prolong it.

360 may feel more solid or whatever, but it's definitely made of some pure shit cheap ass parts.

My old ass Saturn and launch day Dreamcast have never missed a beat.

A truer post has never been made.

Pac-man is fun for all of maybe 5 minutes and Tetris is never fun at all.
