So I pulled a bunch of games out from my backlog to try and knock out , but I want some suggestions on some of these that I should play first:

1.Saints Row , Bully : Scholarship Edition or Okami?
2.Burnout Revenge , NFS : Most Wanted , NFS : Prostreet or Twisted Metal : Head-On : Extra Twisted Edition?
3.Final Fantasy 4 , Dragon Quest 4 , FF:CC:Ring of Fates or Etrian Odyssey?

One game from each set please.:bouncy:

I haven't played any of those except for Saints Row and a little bit of Okami. I enjoyed the hell out of Saints Row. It really caught me by surprise. Keep in mind though, this was before GTA4 so you can't go into it with huge expectations.

I haven't played GTA4 yet either so it doesn't really effect me.
I'm actually liking Last Remnant so far. Unless it goes to shit soon I don't see why it would be getting bad reviews.
Penny Arcade and Gamespot seemed to crap on the game mainly for it's awful frame rate and pop-in textures. As well as awful dialogue. Gamespot also mentioned that while the game takes a while to get going , it picks up nicely later. OXM kinda said the same thing , that the first half of the game was kinda meh , but the second half was great.

1. Okami. Bully would be my second choice. I dig it. SR is amusing though.
2. Either Burnout or Most Wanted. Most Wanted is the best NFS game IMO.
3. FFIV is so good, but so is DQIV. I'd go with FFIV personally.

So basically if I like it now, I'm going to like it even more later.

I guess that would be the long and short of it.;)

To quote from the OXM review , The biggest problems with the game , are it's lack of story until the second disk , and the fact that battles get tedious quickly.
Off to work!
I'll miss the Vikings game, but I'll be checking the score on the computer every 5 minutes or so :)
Vi-Queens suck anus.

Unfortunately I live 5 miles from the Dome.

:whistle2:(

Finished Symphonia today, really enjoyed it, surprisingly enough. Lots of nice options for the New Game+, but I'm in no hurry to dig into it right away again.

That's good to hear. How does it compare to the original Symphonia? I'll probably get ToS2 at some point, regardless, but I'm just curious.

1. Okami
2. Burn all of these games.
3. FFCCROF is the shortest, not a bad little ARPG.

Play Bully unless you're willing to invest some time in Okami and deal with it's unbelievably slow start. I'd say SR would be an okay option, but I really despise those games now.
Burnout Revenge is my choice, though I've not played TM:HO... the rest are not my thing.
Screw the rest, FFIV is one of the best RPGs of all time. Play it.
2. Burn all of these games.
:hot::bomb:

So from the votes so far I've got:
1.Bully first , followed by Okami then Saints Row
2.Burnout first , followed by Most Wanted , then the rest in whatever order.
3.FF4 first , followed by Ring of Fate , then DQ4 and Etrian Odyssey.

Hey Frosty , I thought you liked Saints Row? Why the change of heart?

I also should've noted that it was the DS version of FF4. I've played the SNES/PS1/GBA versions before , just not the DS one.

I'm going to throw in a vote for Twisted Metal - Head On for PS2. Awesome port of an already awesome game.

*prays for Twisted Metal on PS3*

Cons: Shorter, not nearly as deep in terms of character building (skills, cooking, artes/techs, etc), less varied progression due to limited cast members for 90% of the game.

Pros: Story is pretty comparable; better in some parts, not as good in others. Battle system is great (free roam from Abyss/Vesperia).

Obviously it's not as good as the original so the negatives outweigh the positives a bit, but I think in most cases if you enjoyed the first, you'd like this one. I left the monster collecting out of the points since it can be as integral to the game as you'd like it to be or not be (I collected a whole 18% of the possible monsters), and you probably already know if you love or hate that mechanic.

I posted this in the forum but I'll ask here also. Is there anywhere where I can find unbiased information on the differences between different console versions of the same game?

I feel like I'm pretty unbiased. What's the game?
I feel like I'm pretty unbiased. What's the game?
Thanks, Ahadi

Fallout 3, Civ Rev, Mirror's Edge, Midnight Club LA, or the new Need for Speed. Basically anything that's multi platform that's why I was looking for a site that I could just do my own research.

I'd like to start picking up the PS3 versions if they're the same or better because my 360 sounds like it could go again. It's not really noticeable but the drive seems to strain at times and I've had the damn thing freeze up half a dozen times in the last two months.

I'd just like to avoid any games that had bad ports like F.E.A.R. and the Orange Box.

PS3 Fallout 3 seemed to get shit on for graphics problems... it had something about locking the FPS and causing it to chug? I wish I could remember where I read that review. :\

Got it: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=285507&page=1

Dallow says he played TOB on the PS3 and didn't notice anything overly horrible or unplayable, I believe.

IGN seems to be the only site that gives different scores but for some reason it's hard for me to navigate it. It seems like there's so much stuff running on the screen that an older laptop like mine gets bogged down and it's like I'm on dial-up.

Hmm. Well I know GameInformer has a section in their review area called "The Edge" where they say what console get's the better version.

Thanks Ahadi and corrosivefrost.

Unfortunately, I don't read GI and I haven't even stepped inside a GameStop in almost a year. It's not that I hate GS but I'm not really down with some of their practices.

You could try GI's website. They do post their reviews publicly.

What's the cheapest way to get a 360 HDD?

Someone on Craigslist is selling a 360 for $75. Comes with everything but the HDD. Anyone know of a cheap way to get one?

Find a Target with a HDD on clearance.

CC supposedly has the 120 gb ones down to 99. If you can find the 15 off 100 coupon and buy a soda it should be around 85 + tax.

I just sold a 20gb new on craigslist for $25.
I just sold a 20gb new on craigslist for $25.
You should un-sell it :D

Other than that, I may go the CC route, even though I don't really need one that big I don't think.

so 20gb go pretty cheap... I can get a 360 Arcade for $155 or I can get a Pro for $270, tax inc. with an upcoming walmart deal and a family discount. I should probably go with the arcade right? Couple questions, the arcade comes with HDMI right, so I could use the same HDMI-DVI i use on my PS3? WIll any USB headset work with 360 or should I pick up either the wired or wireless one?
I say trade all those other games in and get Fallout 3. :bouncy:
I have Fallout 3 on my Gamefly list if that counts for anything.
I posted this in the forum but I'll ask here also. Is there anywhere where I can find unbiased information on the differences between different console versions of the same game?
Unfortunatly that's something I wish I could find as well. IGN and Gamespot occasional mention things like that in their reviews , but not always , and 1up almost never mentions anything about that unless its's something major.

Usually I just end up going on Metacritic or gamerankings and look for which version has the highest score.
I have another 20gb... if I was more comfortable with switching HDD, I'd sell it to you for $25 or $30 shipped.
Well, let me know if you do.
Hehe, you can make your NXE avatar burp.
if you shake their head left and right they make an angry face. if you nod it up and down they smile.

That's what I did. Finding a CC that still had it in stock was a bitch, though.

I have a stack of new games waiting for me at home already. >_

I did something I know is wrong. It's hard to say, but...I
Ordered Vampire Rain off Gamefly

I know I'm probably wasting my money, but I'm just too curious about it.

There's a horrific demo out there for you to try. Then you'll see why this game almost made me wish video games had never been invented.

That's exactly why I'm so curious about it

I think I'll wait and be surprised when I get it! It was only $13 anyways...
