I only played WoW last night--wife took over the TV until late. :p

But hopefully my buddy from Portland made it in and we will game the night away tonight. :whee:

It's $50. At that price though, I'd expect it to work well.

My friend just sent me Volume 1 of the Phoenix Wright Case Files, Merry Christmas!

DDS2, not so merry. fucking bosses spamming status effects piss me off. Only three more bosses left, I think.

Same thing happened to my friend's PS3. It just refused to read any discs. And he had 2 NCAA '09 leagues going at that time, so he had to borrow one from his girlfriend's brother. Dude's addicted to that shit.

Fun in Fallout 3 mans turning wild brahmin into piles of ashes with my gatling laser. :)
 
That disk drive is the PS3's hardware weak point.
So far, so good with mine. :cool:

My 360 is proving to be very reliable so far as well. I think it has yet to freeze or glitch on me.

With the future of the Scarlet Moon Empire at stake, players seek out the Stars of Destiny to aid them in overthrowing the corrupt government. The head of the Liberation Army, players can also gather up to 108 companions to join them in battles as they call the shots in large-scale warfare. Suikoden offers variation in combat with the ability to battle groups of enemies with a team of six characters, defeat foes in one-on-one duels, or control the battlefield during major conflicts as the Liberation army wages war.

I'll start over though, it's been so long.

EDIT: No word man.
It's rumored that 09 is when the PSX games start rolling in though. We'll see.

It would be swell if they fixed the jibberish text in Suikoden II, like at the end. That pissed me off so badly.
 
Never played any of the suikoden series so I should probably buy that and try lol.

Ordered me my xmas gifts to myself today from amazon. A 4850x2 and a new power supply to run it. :bouncy: Can't wait to play fallout 3 with the hd texture pack with no hitches. My poor 8800 gts about has a heartattack on max settings with min aa/af. :cry:

I hate to be a "bitch in a sea of bitches" as mykevermin put it, but Sony has an ever expanding list of things I want to see with PSN/PS3 and as much as they've already done (most of which is awesome), they can't afford to keep lagging behind XBL and Microsoft any more. Or even have the perception of lagging behind for that matter.

I think it's great. It's only like 20ish hours long, unless you try to get everyone. Plus I love the soundtrack.
 
Suikoden 1 and 2 are two of the best RPGs ever made. I highly, highly recommend them, despite their jankiness and sometimes poor translation.

I really recommend rolando for iphone or ipod touch too. fucking amazing $10 portable game. It's like Loco Roco if LR wasn't so damned boring and it uses tilt controls, like Loco Roco should have.

I'm taking note of that. Slowly urged to buy it. Sucker for PS1 RPGs I've never played.
 
Suikoden 1 and 2 have an undeniable charm and epic feeling to them. Something about their tone and style is very unique. Building a castle out of characters you recruit is basically a very simple gameplay idea, but let your imagination go with it and it feels very cool and very epic.

Suikoden feels a lot like the movie Red Dawn. A bunch of kids band together to fight back against an oppressive invading force.

So can you buy those PS1 games if you don't have a PS3? Does having custom firmware affect buying them for PSP?

Just do it. It's 6 bucks. I've had disappointing meals for 12, so a great game for 6 is a steal.
 
The battles are very fast and allow you to automate fight commands for easier battles as well. It's also set up so you can play the whole game with one hand on a Playstation controller. R1 for confirm, R2 for cancel, select button for menu.

Jeremy Parish's take on Suikoden: "If you missed Suikoden and you're an RPG fan, it's definitely worth playing. I'd venture to call it the PS1 equivalent of Chrono Trigger: a gorgeous 2D game with a gorgeous soundtrack, and a story with healthy doses of drama. And at six bucks, well, it's cheaper than Chrono Trigger will ever be."
 
No Persona 4 for me this christmas. I guess my mom was got into an argument with a lamestop employee about it's price. She didn't think she should have to pay 40 bucks for a game on "an old system, when some PS3 games were that price" She even told the guy she wanted the PS3 version. :lol:

To be nitpicky, that was Ray Barnholt's take on it. But he's legit too, so whatever.
