XIII wasn't the best game in the world, but I enjoyed a lot. I never got around to finishing it though. :/

I played it on PC though, so maybe that helped with a lot of the problems.
 
Nice surprise when I came into work--GameStop sent me the Skate 2 shirt and unlock code I was initially shafted on when I went to pick up my pre-order. :whee:

The new reload animation bugs me, at least the one I've seen. Not sure what's up with it, but the fact that it looks like two clips are electrical taped together... that bugs me.

I had this game reserved and played the demo and stuff. I thought it was going to kick ass. Then I changed my mind at the last second and bought Max Payne 2 (PS2) instead.

The point of this story is that both games were $5 about a week after launch and I didn't know shit until I joined CAG.

Yes, that too. actually, that was a Hannukah gift. Lets see...FFX-2 as well. I think that was all the same season and I joined CAG right after. But then CAG mislead me to buy shovelware that I thought might become rare-- Raze's Hell, Spikeout, Magna Carta, Metal Saga, and probably some others.

If I were one of those scary consumer whore gamers, I'd toot my own horn about how I was supporting the industry!
 
i just got my mouse replaced by logitech cuz it was getting a malfunctioning error but now im getting it again

I do have to admit that sometimes I get excited about a game just because of the pre-order bonuses, though. (looks sheepishly at his copy of Mana Khemia).

Well, the game's out on the 16th, so I can't give you a proper explanation 'til then, but...

Aesthetically, I still prefer the GBA games over the Wii and DS. You can decide for yourself...

One of the big New Things in the game is that you can change unit classes. The amount of each class that you can have is limited, though, so you can't field an entire army of Armour Knights no matter how much you (that is, I) want to. I'm kinda mixed on this, but ultimately optimistic. On the one side, customization is often the enemy of character, and can place limitations on the story. On the other hand, customization is generally good for gameplay. Especially when it comes to the multiplayer.

It is unfortunate that they limit us to teams of five, but hey, there's voice chat, so that's cool. I assume that they want the teams to be small so that games don't drag on forever, though I'd appreciate larger teams in a "chess by mail" type of system. Ah, whatever. You can either play standard kill-em-all fights using your characters from the campaign or capture-the-green-square type fights. Also, there's voice chat, which is kinda neat, though not critical in a turn-based, non-team-based game at all...

What else? Oh, the save system. Strikes a happy medium between Fire Emblem 10's "save anywhere" Battle Saves and the traditional "Majora's Mask Owl" Suspend Saves (which I am assuming are still in). Maps will have single-use-only, non-Owl-type save points on them. Keeps you from having to restart if someone gets dropped by a bullshit critical strike, but it doesn't protect you from your own stupidity in the way that the Battle Saves so often did.

And... I think that's about it. I'm assuming that they've buffed Marth up considerably, 'cause he's supposed to have been a pretty big pussy back in the day.

Anything else? I realize that you asked for a consensus on it, but those are for pussies.

I know. It just bugs me the way some people could care less about these things. It really begs the question, where will it stop?

EDIT2: Man, I just realized that the king in that FE video looks a helluva lot like the king from Shining Force...

I'm trying very hard not to pre-order Ys I & II DS. Have to keep reminding myself, "it will drop to $25 or less quickly, it will drop to $25 or less quickly". :p

I do really wanna pre-order FF:CC Echoes of Time though. If they cleaned up the pathing and AI from Ring of Fates and kept the awesome character customization, it would be a must buy for me.

I don't do that anymore. well, with new games. Unless the new game is already rare. :)

but no impulse buying new games on belief that it will become rare.

I think the mind-numbing boring part was part of the problem...I kind of blew off a whole bunch of homework and let an exam anally ravage me.

High school was a joke. Shit was so easy. True story, we were supposed to interview an old person for a paper. I made all of it up the night before and had my friend sign it. Got an A on that shit. My calculus teacher knew I was slacking. I'd barely do homework, yet get As on tests. That's how I did everything in high school. I just coasted as much as possible.

It'd be nice if someone nearby would buy dj max fever, would not like it and then trade it in to gamestop so I can be the cheap ass I am and use the coupon plus edge on it, but sadly I doubt that will ever happen lol.

Been playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2 a lot lately. Forgot how unforgiving this game can truly be.
