You guys just Jer at Mirrors Edge. Fighting was no problem on normal at least.
Uh, I beg to differ. Chapter 7 or whichever one puts you on the back of the truck sneaking in somewhere -- when those truck doors open, there are too many people to fight, and running ends up getting you mowed down by the heavy machine gun asshole 9/10 times. Getting hit while you're trying to rush through to live somehow just adds to your fuckups. Took me like 45+ minutes to do it. If I could've used guns -- I'd have been out of there on the first try. Stupid cheese.
have you used a Hori stick before (DoA, SCIV, etc.)? Just wondering how it is compared to those...and if it's as fucking loud and clicky clicky.
I haven't used those.

The stick is clicky, I kind of like the sound.
I loved Mirror's Edge, and I'm excited for some DLC to come out.
This.

It wasn't that hard, you just had to keep running circles around them and take them out one at a time.
Gamestop B&M.
Thanks. I popped by my local one during lunch and the dude said they got 'em but for pre-orders only and they didn't even get enough to fulfill all their pre-orders either.

Oh well. I'd go to BB, but I'm lazy and don't even have the game yet anyway. Worst comes to worst I'll play my EX in the interim.
You hate Valkyria Chronicles.
You sir, need to jump off a building.
Alicia Melchiott is a slut and I am building a rape sim around her character.

I'm thinkin' about it. The square gate seems limiting to me.

I'll probably order a Sanwa stick and buttons. Just to see if I can notice the difference in quality.
Tried that. Didn't work.
I dunno, I was playing on Normal with no guns and it took me 15 minutes tops to beat that section.
You guys just Jer at Mirrors Edge. Fighting was no problem on normal at least.
I lol'd at the 'Jer', but it doesn't apply here.

If I was Jer'ing it I'd be complaining based on podcasts and Gametrailers footage instead of PLAYING it.

That part and escaping the mall when a dozen+ machine guns are shooting you while you have to platform still irritate me.

Lies.

+1

I wasn't even trying for the cheese and it was still irritating.

Mirror's Edge was fucked up by DICE succumbing to pressure to make the game 'marketable' and adding combat. Had it been purely a FPS platformer, I would have enjoyed it.
Finally redeemed for a 25 dollar GS gift card on E-Rewards.

Retro Game Challenge here I come!
Hope you don't expect to buy RGC within the next month or so.

I redeemed for a GS GC at the beginning of January and still haven't received it.

:whistle2:(

Gamestop: "We buy and sell new and used games if we have them."

I got the Platinum in the UGC thanks to a semi-cheap/semi-weird method in Mean Bean Machine. Played some De Blob as well. If I play it twice more I'll beat it (1 stage per play). It's a damn fine Wii game, and if you have a Wii, you should definitely pick it up.

Although...level 5 is definitely the worst level in the game, as it's really repetitive, it's sort of where the difficulty ramps up, and the buildings ARE REALLY HIGH, so if you screw up, you gotta go all the way around again to get back up. But levels 6-8 are much better. Level 8 is definitely the best one I've played so far.

I dunno if that's true, but I would've enjoyed the game more if the object detection were are little better. There were too many times I would have to re-run through sections of the game because of "near misses" that looked like good run throughs. Granted, it gives the game more of a sense of accomplishment when you succeed and seamlessly run through stuff, but Parkour is far enough out of reality for me personally, that I don't need it to necessarily be realistic, I just want it to feel realistic enough for me to be immersed in the experience.
In a game where you're getting gunned down, you have to do something in order to protect yourself.
If you're referring to ME, then the primary protection is running away using parkour skills.

It's a game design choice to present the player with no other option than to fight, which is what I think some are saying.

manthing, ;)

---

I beat ME with no guns and no runner vision on my first playthrough. No problems at all. My estimate is that there are two enemies you should knock down. Every other encounter you don't have to fight at all.

In some cases, you do have to get through enemy waves though (unless you're like some ME God and have memorized 40 different routes per level) in order to advance. You can't run away all the time.

You can actually. But much like getting the jumping down, it's trial and error to know exactly how to avoid fights. One spot in a warehouse took me forever as I tried to sneak and fight them. Got close, and then realized there's one sneaky path that gets you out of there in 7 secs.
I got pissed at myself though, and not the game.

Loco roco 2 is really good. The first was not really good. At all.

Still want to tilt the screen though.

I play cod:waw cause my roommate does.

And TF2 does not exist on PS3.

No, it doesn't.

FEAR2 is great, from first impressions.

Mirrors edge was a good game with some awful parts and all awful combat. That's my opinion.

The Orange Box does not exist on the PS3, period.

Sorry if you only have a PS3 and had to get the OB for it.

Holy shit... I ... agree?

I picked up Deadly Creatures—it's for the Wii—today.

Just got to chapter 4. So far the game is awesome.

The game has a lot of atmosphere. The ambient sound and the visuals—which are actually good—really set the tone. I like the level design because it is all curvy, as in there really is no concept of up and down—if that makes sense.

The scorpion and the tarantula play differently enough too which helps keeps thing interesting.

Just to make a quick post, not sure if it has been mentioned, Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection has ZERO install on PS3 unlike some tried to say the other day. I bought the game :)ps3: version), loads fast and plays great (and no install). Getting trophies really easily in it too.

I played some more of Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection today. I must ask why they felt the need to put Comic Zone in this one. It has to be one of my least favorite games on the Genesis.

you people are fuckin' nuts. Comix Zone is awesome.

The Phantasy Star games are like RPGs from a 3rd World country though :\ I used to like those back in the day, but it's amazing how SNES rpgs are light years ahead.

Any watch that new RE5 trailer? It looks so pretty... but I know I'll never play it because of the shitty partner AI. And it seems
that Jill is definitely in the game. I figured it was her when I saw a clocked figure with "red eyes" held some guy against a wall. But it was pretty much confirmed at the end of the trailer.... and then there is that achievement called Masters of Removing

I thought all the doubters were crazy at first, but I'm also jumping on the "not so hot on RE5" bandwagon (and not my usual sarcastic hate, but real "not so hotness.") Especially if the ammo sharing mechanics work the same as the demo.

I'm the opposite. I was in the "meh" camp about it for awhile, but the demo made me really excited for it.

Then again, I do plan to play through it the first time with a friend.

Except for Phantasy Star 4. That game was awesome.
Especially if the ammo sharing mechanics work the same as the demo.
That is my main problem. It wouldn't bug me if I knew I would be playing with a friend. But since I probably won't I would be stuck with the AI partner. So I'm sure that will make Ammo sharing much worse then it would be with a friend.

4 was the one I jumped right in to, since it would logically be the most up to date.

There are a lot of antiquated problems with it, that Square games at the time had long since solved. Actually, I don't think any Square game ever listed duplicate items individually and spell+item names are mostly self-explanatory...even in Final Fantasy 1. Not so in PS4.

even in co-op, you can't split up ammo. it's either "here's ALL the pistol ammo" or none.

The worst part is that now that the entire game is co-op, you know RE6 will have to be as well. :\ Though if the game gets slammed enough in the press, Capcom might make it more optional next time.
even in co-op, you can't split up ammo. it's either "here's ALL the pistol ammo" or none.
Really? I didn't look into it that much.

I don't hate the idea of Co-op... I just it was more Gear like. I never had to worry about Dom running out of ammo. So I could just focus on what ammo I had.
And TF2 does not exist on PS3.

You base this, I'm sure, on the hours and hours and hours that you've spent playing Orange Box on PS3.

And by that, I mean, at best, 15 seconds watching some overvalued YouTube video.

Get a fuckin' life. Your "AAA or no Play" titles are multiplatform, toots.

I'm going to find the people who made Quantum of Solace and cut their dicks off.
