If they're trying to make the ultimate stealth game, MGS4 was a huge fucking step back. Hint: if you're trying to make a game, don't insert two hour movies in between short bursts of gameplay. They were pretty close with MGS3. Though some would argue that Spliter Cell does stealth better.
The camera in MGS3 (well, the original, at least) wasn't conducive to sneaking... I played most of that game as a run and gun and payed for it later.
"But you may remember the NES version of Metal Gear, but that was a crap game since I wasn't involved in it."

w/e Kojima, the music in that game was awesome. Still one of my favorite NES songs :)

But no, I could never beat it, thanks to the random pitfalls of doom.

Subsistence version? I should have specified. Actually, I take it all back. First two chapters of MGS4, minus the cutscenes, are pretty close to the best stealth ever.
MGS3 was the pinnacle of the MGS series. It'd be pretty hard to top it.
I don't know about that. I didn't play the Subsistence version, but for me, I liked MGS and MGS4 more than MGS3... I'm not sure where MGS2 ranks for me, it's been so long since I've played it.

Your new gimmick as a contrarian isn't very funny. Not as funny as you typically are.

Capcom NES music FTW.

Oh fuck, now I have the "ride your bicycle to th' password" music from Punch-Out!!! in my head. That's not going anywhere for awhile.

Crackdown for $10 on amazon... perfect.

I have that damned Punch-Out song stuck in my head too... the updated version is just as addictive too.

Negative.

MGS3>MGS1>MGS4>MGS2

I thought crackdown sold out. Did it come back in stock?

Most definitely. Now I want to play some MGS3S.

I just wish MGS4 had more of the first 2 acts. Those were great.
Now it's my head too myke. Damn that tune is so good.

Almost two decades later and I still remember it.
Me too. No music is memorable like that anymore.

It's awesome how Crackdown is now the same price as its DLC.

I was making fun at the Floods incident for the hell of it.

Dammit! Now I have to go play Punch-Out.
munch refunded FayeIsUponUs his money and picked the game up at his apartment's mailbox, apossum. :]
interesting. what color shirt was inufaye wearing when he went to pick it up?
interesting. what color shirt was inufaye wearing when he went to pick it up?
munch picked it up before it got mailed out (he had dropped it at his leasing office to be mailed out, but it was after the mailman had came that day).
interesting. what color shirt was inufaye wearing when he went to pick it up?
You can ask munch. He posted what I said in the OTT. Not like I PMed him about it. Caaaaaaaaaalm down.

I should've said that munch went to pick it up though. :)
Negative.

MGS3>MGS1>MGS4>MGS2
MGS3>MGS4>MGS2>MGS1

Although, I still really, really love MGS1. I just didn't like it as much as the others. *Puts on Flame Shield*

MGS didn't age very well, IMO. Better off playing the GC version if anything.
I am calm, kittonwy. You're the one who needs to chill out!
You were like 5 years old when MGS1 came out. What do you know?
That Bullet Time snake in Twin Snakes is cool.

That was the best MGS imo ... and it wasn't even remade by Kojima.

I'd love Twin Snakes if it wasn't for the Matrix cutscenes.

I blame Kojima.

The team that did TS kept the cutscenes very true to the source material. They showed them to Kojima for approval and he didn't like them because they were too similar, he said to "Michael Bay" them up and then we got the TS we all know and love hate.

Plus, those MGS2 moves made certain sections in MGS1 way too easy.
Oh snap, TFN is kittowny?! It all makes sense now.
And budge had to be 3 years old when MGS came out.
TFN is indeed a 30 year old man baby who speaks in cat talk to support sony products.

yay, work is over.

edit oh
yes, the word is that kittonwy is a 30 year old dude. *shudder*
You were like 5 years old when MGS1 came out. What do you know?
Actually I think that is part of the problem. MGS1 was actually the last MGS game I played.

In the order I played them: MGS2 (PC Version ), MGS4, MGS3 and then finally MGS: Twin Snakes on GC.

MGS1 was good, but after playing the others it just seemed really aged.

They were cool.

I played MGS Twin Snakes for story, not gameplay, could be hard as balls for all I care. The gameplay still
sucked ass.

I guess its just alot easier on the eyes, zewone. Kinda like how I tried playing Final Fantasy 7 on my TV a while back and couldn't get into colored squares walking around on pre-rendered backgrounds. :[
Did Silicon Knights do anything between Twin Snakes and Too Human?
According to Wikipedia....no.

That 4 year vacation must have been nice.

...

Go play Super $$$$$$ Fighter II: Mark of the Wolves: Turbo.
Did you guys see the awesome PSX titles that went up during today's PSN Update?
The reason was explained once on PS3 Fanboy when there was an interview with Yoshida:
Quote:
Where are all the PS1 games? We chatted with SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida about the lack of PS1 downloadable titles in America, and he admitted it frankly: "I'd like to see more games on that as well ... we haven't done enough with third party publishers."
In Japan, companies like Square Enix and Konami have supported the PSN by re-releasing treasured PS1 classics onto the PS Store. However, the rest of the world's catalog has been quite lacking. Yoshida explained that these digital downloads don't offer much profit, calling the potential monies "insignificant." He also noted that there are many issues involving licensing, especially with the music found in older games. That usually adds to the difficulty of bringing back PS1 games.

While lamenting the lack of PS1 support on the PSN, he did ask us a favor: "Maybe if you can convince the third parties."

And there are some publishers, who flat out admitted (like Working Designs) that their games will never end up on the PS Store, mostly due to their bad relationship with SCEA (Vic Ireland made that post at GAF, saying the only way Arc The Lad could appear on the U.S. Store would be for SCEA to re-translate it themselves. Vic Ireland certainly isn't allowing SCEA to use the work he did).
I'm just kidding, buddy. :grouphug:
... Ok, now I'm scared.
