I had an old white guy in line at the Church's Chicken ask me how the day was treating me, I tells him OK so far, then he responds, "better than bein' in 'nam, gettin shot at, eh? ::chuckle::

uh, yea, I guess it is.
10 min? What games have you been installing? It takes me about 25 min on average.
I'm installing games onto a 360, not DMC4 on a PS3

... You got me there, but it still takes me 25 min to install a game onto the 360 on average.

EDIT: Better yet, tell me a game you installed that took 10 min, I'll see if I have it, install it and time it.

Takes about 10-12 mins for 3.x GB games on 360 for me.
About 20-25 mins for full size games. 6-7gb.

I have about 7 games installed. Time to delete I guess.

Now THAT'S optimism ;)

One time a guy stopped me on a bridge just to tell me:
"Life's a bitch and then you die" and then he walked off laughing very oddly
:whistle2:|

I just noticed some tags disappeared from the thread :whistle2:k

I have found my new idol.

Is it really taking 25 mins for 360 installs, I've never had one take more than 10 mins.

I've installed Mass Effect, Assasins Creed, Gears 2, SF IV, L4D. I'm sure none of them took longer than 10 mins.
Answer my Q, manthingy!
What Q wierdo?

----------------

distfx:

Wow, you busted me. I've never actually timed how long a 360 install was. When I get a game I'm gonna install, I'm usually coming back from getting the game, and I do other things around the house while it installs.

I know Bully didn't take long to install. Last game I installed was 50 Cent, and I don't think that took long either.

I do know for a fact that *no* 360 install took as long as downloading/installing the Lair patches.

:booty:

Your drive is slow.

Mine takes about half that for either size.

The question about blade lag manthing.

---

Install time are guesses for me on what they felt like.
I don't usually sit and watch.

Now that I think about it, there's no way they take 25 mins even for a maxed out game. So it probably is half for each.
The question about blade lag manthing.
I said it was widespread, if not normal.

------------------

I hope those people who abused their tagging privileges had their tagging abilities revoked.

Yeah, I would think it's normal. Seems a bit taxing with all the traffic and background stuff going on. It's not that bad, except for the longer freezes which are rare.

Don't have either, so I can't test those.

Nobody's arguing about the PS3's long ass install times.

Did DMK just say he works at Church's Fried Chicken?

If so, could you tell me if you stock Texas Pete or Frank's hot sauce in the individual packets?

Thanks.
10 minutes to install and 30 seconds to delete games is 'effort'?
Not really effort I guess, but just 10-20 minutes (or whatever) of precious free time that could be spent playing a game rather than waiting on an install.

I've not had any issues with my drive and very few games have had load times that annoyed me so I just haven't got around to trying it.

Make a sandwich while you wait. Take a shit and read the latest Cosmo. Don't just sit there and stare at your TV waiting for it to be done. :/
...Or he could've just been in line behind the guy. :whistle2:|
I wasn't knocking him if he did.

I remember getting individual packets of Frank's Hot Sauce from somewhere when I lived near Church's and was curious if they were the ones who had it.

I've never found a place that has individual Frank's packets in MN.

:whistle2:(
So I have this second iPod Touch with music on it already. I plug it into my computer and itunes. iTunes says I can transfer my 2.whatever update to the iPod, but it will clear all the songs. So I can do that? Is there a way to get the songs on my computer? Syncing says it will just replace the iPod's songs with my library.
do this, then update your ipod.

Then give me your other touch. WTF do you have two touches for?
I'm on my 4th PS3.
Because the other three were sold by you because you bought into the "no gamez" hype were broken.

If we're going back to the "PS3 has noe gamez" stuff, can I be on the HD DVD side?

My girlfriend's brother is named noe!
I wasn't knocking him if he did.
Jack in the Box has Frank's dipping sauce. Shit is delectable with them curly ass fries, negro!

If you need me to, I will get a whole shitload and send 'em to you. :0)

Of course. But as a person who only feels like gaming a couple times a week--when I get the urge I do like to just fire it up and get right to gaming. :D

It's not a big burden or anything, I've just yet to feel compelled to do it given I've had no issues and only have a 20GB HDD.

I have a really neat idea. You can turn on your 360 at the same time you turn on your computer and when you set a game to install.. you can surf the internet and bitch about it! :0)

Yeah, I don't get that. He doesn't want to waste his free time, but here he is, posting on a message board with a punk rock rollerskater and moz's shadow.

NINTENDO WII HAS THE BEST SELECTION OF GAMEZ!!!!!1
I think I'm going to give back Left 4 Dead soon, then get Wanted, blaze through it and get something good (50 CENT GAME PLZ!)

Thanks for the offer, but JitB has Frank's Buffalo Sauce, which is different from Original Frank's Hot Sauce.

SNES Hook was fun!

Again, 98% of my posting is from the office or while working at home and needing to take my eyes of the data I'm working on, or whatever I'm writing etc. etc.

And yes I like to bitch, it's about all forums serve. Especially with games which is a hobby I've had a love/hate but haven't been able to give up type of interest in for years.

And I do it just to spite you all since you guys always get so annoyed with it--and that's about the one redeeming value of the GGT!

I'm not annoyed. Far from it.

I like eating glue.

I knew I was going to play some Blue Dragon tonight, so I installed the first disc over the weekend when I had a moment.

My biggest regret this weekend.

Sorry, but my peanut butter needs trans fat apparently as this stuff is the nastiest peanut butter I've ever had.
I can't believe it was so bad.

I was just thinking of something earlier .. about how PS3 uses blu-ray discs. How comes there isn't a graphical improvement or extra material compared to SDs? I seem to recall an image of what MGS4 would look like on the 360 and it was a box of about 9 standard discs to the PS3s one.

What the fuck? I've installed 2 games and it took a little over 5 minutes both times. (Prince of Persia and Fallout 3)

It's just capacity mak.

BDs hold more data, aside from a couple other smaller techinical things (speed of data transfer), there's no difference from DVDs.

Lazy devs as to why they don't put more content on the BD game though.
It's rarely done aside from some games giving the option for uncompressed audio of which you need an HDMI receiver to take advantage of.

Examples of actual content are the CE version of Stranglehold, where they actually put a 1080p cut of the movie Hard Boiled on the disc.
Or The Darkness where the little movies and shows you'd see on TVs in the game were full length rather than just smaller cuts.

There's probably some other stuff too, but it's all minor I'm sure.

Yeah, like I said it's not so much the effort as it's just having not gotten around to it since playing off the disc doesn't bother me and I only have a 20 GB HDD. :D

Next time I'm playing a long game that has some loading (maybe when I get around to Fallout 3) I'll install it to the HDD and see if it's worth bothering with to me. Not going to bother with the current games I'm playing (L4D, Fable II) as they're pretty short and will be done with pretty quickly.
