I can see Rei's point. While I find myself enjoying KZ2s multipalyer(far more then single player). I do wish you had some more options when you first start playing online. I felt that at least the Medic and Engineer should have been available from the start.

I still dont see the incentive to get a DSi, especially when its priced as much as a psp and my DS Lite works fine. Would have to take a lot for me to give up my GBA slot.

I think I'm turning into a MarkMan-esque system collector, and I don't like it. I've got 2 PSPs for no reason, and when thinking about what to do with my DS Lite when I get a DSi, I think "I'll just hang on to it, in case I need it." What the hell kind of reasoning is that?

The only incentive the Dsi had for me was WPA support. But now I'm reading older games won't work online if your using WPA...unless I dreamed that last night, which would be rather pathetic.
I'm guessing you don't buy shooters but just play them. totally understandable.

now if you say you enjoy Halo over Killzone or CoD4, you'd need a damn good explanation.
Halo is a terrible series of games. So no, it's definitely not better than CoD4 or KZ2.

In Halo 3 my reticle doesn't simply float casually in the direction I want it to go, then overshoot the target. Killzone 2 on the other hand...

I liked Halo 3's campaign over CoD4's campaign. I played both on their hard modes (but not Legendary or Veteran, since those modes in both games are beyond ridiculous.) CoD4 is so random. You can be dead in two seconds or get completely lucky and dominate. I had to exploit the end of One Shot, One Kill to beat it, since it's instant death once the helis arrive. When I finished the game, I didn't necessarily feel any better at it, just that I endured a fuck load of deaths and managed to mix a little bit of skill and a lot of luck.

Halo worked out better, thanks to the larger environments that you can take advantage of and longer shield life.

but it's all moot, Crysis >>>>>>>>>>>>> both. I like open ended shooters with good A.I.

Halo is not a terrible series. The first and third are great. Second is ok but not as good. As far as being better or worse than CoD4 or KZ2 I can't really give a fair comparison since I've only played the campaign of CoD4 , no multiplayer , and I've never played KZ2 at all.

I liked CoD4 campaign as well as Halo 3s campaign. Only beat CoD4 on normal , but beat Halo3 on Legendary. The nuclear attack in CoD4 was an awesome moment in the game. I do agree though that death in CoD4 often seems to come at random.

You did not dream it last night.

Oh it's terrible...to me and that's really the only person's opinion that counts as far as I'm concerned lol. The first Halo was a good game, but the second and third I hated. I could barely bring myself to finish those two games (I don't even think I finished Halo 3).

CoD4's campaign was a lot of fun, and KZ2's is alright so far.

yay! got me a second copy of VC!

im with Rei on this one...Halo is a terrible series.(except Halo 1....sniping pistol FTW!!)

though i loved KZ2's campaign and multi

So after Bioshock, Resistance, and KZ2 I'm thinking I might be into FPS's after all. I always thought FPS's weren't really for me. So I got to thinking about what are the best FPS's out there that I had to try, and was having a tough time. I mean, just about everyone loves COD4, but I think I prefer the less realistic Halo/Resistance-esque shooters.

Depending on who you ask Halo is either great or terrible, FEAR seems more horror-oriented and skippable, TF2 is cool but I don't really want an online-only game, and I kind of hated Half-Life 1. So where's the pinnacle of the genre?

Half Life 2, Episode 1, and Episode 2 are the pinnacle of the genre.

Amazing stuff.

I have an extra copy of HL2 I can gift you on Steam if you want. I don't see how you can turn down a free copy of the best FPS. :D

I also wasn't a fan of HL1, but I think that was because by the time I played it, it was really dated.

Halo 2 was my favorite online multi, it had everything you wanted plus the messaging, party, clan, and leveling up. All those features just seemed to work together so well. It was the first time I also experienced sending/receiving voice messages and that was so kick ass.

I enjoyed parts of KZ2 SP, especially towards the end, but most of the dialogue turned me off :/
The multi is pretty awesome though, even if the aiming ticks me off once in a while. Everything balances out so well it's amazing.

*puts The Orange Box back on his to-buy list*

KZ2's alright, but it seems I'll never get used to the aiming. Judging by how long it takes other people to kill me, no one else at my level has gotten used to the aiming, either.

I am convinced that it is feasible to beast in KZ2 with pure gun control, because I've witnessed it. People are able to go 38-10, 48-7, and they are usually face-to-face with the enemy and just wipe em' out quick.

What I suck at is getting a headshot on a moving target :twoguns:

Also, there's a glitch with GS website that allows you to use the 5OFF60 promo if your order hits $60. It takes $5 off every item in your cart plus the SAVER promo for free shipping.

However, people got so giddy about it in the gamedays thread that it made it's way to SD, so if you plan on getting stuff from there that would total over $60, I'd say do it ASAP from the site for a better chance at it not getting canceled. It probably will anyways, but there's no hurt in trying ;)

Supposedly, they fixed the glitch already. Someone in the gamedays thread mentioned something about that.
You guys couldn't at least beat Portal in the time since you bought the Orange Box?
Seriously. You can do it in one sitting.

And yeah, it's sad so many people haven't purchased VC yet. If there was one game to support and buy day 1, it was VC.

Put 3 more hours or so into Fable 2, just finished the Crucible. Still liking the game a lot, though I haven't gotten interested in buying a house, finding a wife etc. yet, mainly just doing side quests and story quests.

Hell no, I got shit to do!

Actually, I watched my friend finish it 3 times, so I never felt the need to play it.

Played a little Rock Band, a little Chrono Trigger, a little PoP and a little Banjo today.

Now all of a sudden my head is fucking pounding, no more gaming tonight.

Finished both Fable 2 and Mirror's Edge today...couldn't wait for both games to end. Just nothing compelling in either game after you do all they have to offer.

Back to a second mass effect playthrough while I wait for 2 more from gamefly :)

I don't mean everything there is to do in the game, like 100%. I mean that both games have a pretty limited variety gameplay mechanics that wear their welcome out quickly.

After my gamepass runs out this month, I'll be turning attention to films for a while.
I'm destined to watch AFI's list of 100 Best Movies of all time this year.
I'M GONNA DO IT!!!!
Because I'm amazing.

1 CITIZEN KANE
2 THE GODFATHER
3 CASABLANCA
4 RAGING BULL
5 SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
6 GONE WITH THE WIND
7 LAWRENCE OF ARABIA
8 SCHINDLER'S LIST
9 VERTIGO
10 THE WIZARD OF OZ

Only 4 out of the top 10 won't be boring as shit (2,4, 8, 9)
So...you don't want a free copy of HL2?
Did you edit that in later? The only PC I have that'll play games is this work laptop, and that's not going to work out. I've learned with laptops that I can't play for much more than 30 minutes without them overheating and turning off. Thanks though.

Wizard of Oz isn't boring as shit...it's epic.
I've seen Schindler's List and Wizard of Oz from those, and I own Godfather, Casablanca and Lawrence Of Arabia.
I'd be watching most out of curiosity as to why people like them so much.
My favourite on the list is 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's probably the best on the list, because its pretty much the best thing evar.

sure it is, have you seen "Family Plot"? There's a hitchcock stinker. there are others as well...guy did a lot of films, there are bound to be some misses. but I wasn't calling Vertigo boring, so I'm not sure where that came from..

if you find out why Citizen Kane is always number 1 in everything, please let me know. it's like people list it out of obligation and without any regard for the modern context.

No I haven't. And I edited my text because I realized you didn't say that :)
I'm interested in Citizen Kane because I have this feeling it isn't actually that good and like you say, people say it's their favourite just because it seems fancy or something.

Hell, my favourite movie is Pan's Labyrinth and its not even on the list because its not American.
pfffffftb.
