Hey GGT - what's the best Dynasty Warriors game for the 360? er, samurai warriors or orochi...Just the best one of whatever that series is called. I figure with a gamefly account, I can check these things out without having to pay money or waste much time.
None of them? lool.

I guess if you really must delve into it, Dynasty Warriors 6 or Samurai Warriors 2. I really don't care for the gameplay of this series regardless, though. :p

Shhh, don't comment on games you don't like. See, you recommended DW6, and honestly that's a bad choice. It plays nothing like any other game in the series, and is honestly a step back in a lot of ways. Cutting down the number of story modes and characters, and even making other characters just palette swaps.

If you want to go with a game in the DW series, then you'd have to go back to DW5 for a really good one (yes DW3 fans, I said it!).

I picked up DW6 awhile ago for $20. I'd say it was worth that.

That new Dynasty Warriors for PSP looks pretty interesting. I wonder if it'll be good...
Now you've entered my area of expertise!

The two best Musou games on the 360 are Samurai Warriors 2 and Warriors Orochi 2. I'd personally go with SW2 as it still stands as my favorite in the series. Great music, well done cutscenes, nice variety in weapons, and a good leveling system. WO2 has all that minus the music and cutscenes. So it's a good game, it's just slightly less awesome than SW2.
Quoting just so I can look it up in my post history.

Rent Samurai Warriors 2.

hehe, I'm providing the "non-fan" recommendation.

Honestly, I don't think a newbie or non-fan will notice or appreciate the differences. This is IMO, of course, but I think these games all play pretty much the same.

Again, fans of the series will easily recognize what they like and don't like about the games, but (IMO) everyone else will probably not worry about those things all that much. Really, these games aren't meant for everyone, but I'm glad you enjoy them.

So...someone has told me that RE5's Vs Mode is 1.87mb. Not quite an unlock code standards, but the point is clear: It's on the disc.

And you say Halo is a terrible series.

It all makes sense now.

I bought a five dollar copy of Guild Wars Factions and am really liking the game. I can play it like Diablo instead of WoW if I want to, and that is awesome.
wow... Killzone 2 has made me feel weird playing other FPSs... just started playing Resistance 2 and I have to say I'm not use to the gun movement and character movement being so accurate, and actually aiming where you want it to.
I translated for you. Weird, isn't it?

thanks! I'll check out SW2. I remember people on another forum bitching about tech issues with WO2 on another forum...like lag and slow down...any truth to that?

Ah, you've finally realized my good taste.

Yeah, when WO2 first came out it had horrible slowdown problems. Koei released a patch to fix it shortly after.

So...I got the N&B DLC in hopes that Rare could make an enjoyable product for once. And to my dismay, they failed completely again. I will no longer buy a Rare product, even Banjo-Tooie which I have been looking forward to for months. Someone needs to take Rare out back and put them out of their misery, once and for all. They just don't understand good game design anymore.

no...

I got N&B at launch. I thought it was mediocre at best, enjoyable some of the time. I got the DLC today in hopes that it would improve some things. It did not, and made things much, much worse I'm afraid.

The DLC is just dumb mutliplayer stuff right?
(EDIT: Or is the challenges in the test area? meh)

If you didn't enjoy VP and/or N&B, that's your problem. I love them!
Perfect Dark and what I've played of Kameo (10 minutes) can go to hell though.
Rare was never good. People shouldn't be surprised they make crap nowadays.
Killer Instinct, DKC, and DKC2 all beg to differ with you, sir.

Yeah, there were definately good Rare games. Shit, Goldeneye basically introduced the console crowd to FPS' and look how much that has expanded.
Rare was never good. People shouldn't be surprised they make crap nowadays.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Super Glove Ball all agree with you, sir.

I'm about halfway through the Killzone 2 singleplayer campaign.

The dialogue is fucking terrible. And this is coming from someone who didn't mind the dialogue in gears of war.

The only good sounds seem to be the hilarious screams of the helghast on fire or being electrocuted.

Love the variety of Rare games being mentioned. :)
The only good sounds seem to be the hilarious screams of the helghast on fire or being electrocuted.
Haha, I like this best too.
Okay. So you didn't like the game and paid for more of that same content to hate a few months later?
teehee.

fuck! below 2000 XBL points on my account! panic panic panic!!1

well, if I can find Rock Rev for the PS3 at target, trade that to BBV, I can get a card at $6 a pop. That's not quite as good as my preferred price of free though...

that's what put me below. Definitely worth it though. Fun battle system and better writing and voice acting than any JRPG to date. Yep. BELIEVE IT!

my only complaint is that it's a little "Click A to examine this" heavy. and there's something to examine every 5 steps.
Killer Instinct, DKC, and DKC2 all beg to differ with you, sir.
I didn't like any of those. Especially KI which is an absolutely horrible game. DKC and DKC2 were at least ok.

Rare's old games were good. Loved the DKC games, Goldeneye, Blast Corps, the first Banjo (never played the second and hated the demo for the new one).

But Rei has his own tastes.....*cough* Koei games *cough* :D

I feel ya. I was like "wtf is this shit?!?"

I don't understand the people calling for KI3. KI1 was novel at the time but horribly boring in retrospect. KI2 was a little better balanced, but still pretty bad. And that was when Rare had a better shit:good ratio.
