^Oh

Well.. yeah, but how does it look on the screen and how does it play? The PS3 is a pretty big FAIL for FPS or in this case third person...
I never understood this. It's not like the PS3 controller is an N64 controller or something...

WHY THE fuck DOESN'T GTA IV HAVE CHECKPOINTS.

So angry I formatted the hell out of that text.
I don't blame you for the anger, but if it makes you feel better, at least rockstar learned and put them in the DLC.

It just pisses my life off. I'm on the (final?) mission, and
after a forty hour drive tailing a car, I hit one too many things and the car dies.

Restart.

Drive for forty hours, get to a big shootout. Fight through most of the mooks outside, throw a Molotov from behind cover. It doesn't go past the cover. Burn to death.

Restart.

Drive for forty hours, get to a big shootout. Kill everyone outside, go inside, kill everyone inside, get back outside. Pegerino gets on a helicopter. No onscreen instruction. Finally realize I need to get on the motorcycle. Get on the bike. Pegerino got away.

Turn off 360.

Watch Adventures in Babysitting instead.

The symmetrical sticks suck. So do the triggers. Playing with dual shock just feels primitive- reminds me of playing the first red faction, medal of honor, timesplitters. From before they really figured out console fps comtrols.

I hate the Dualshock. Don't like the triggers, don't like the sticks on the same level, don't like the rubbery sticks my thumbs don't like to stay on top of, don't like the flat buttons.

360 controller is the most comfortable console controller, IMO.
So it's not designed around Gamecube's pad and then the other ports kinda suffer? Or am I thinking of Killer7?

Either way, I think I'll grab the PC version since I have a gamepad.
Well I played the Gamecube version, so I can't tell you if the other versions are worse, but I can tell you that I don't remember thinking that the Gamecube controller was necessary instead of any other gamepad.

Agreed.

Agreed, I actually bought a third party PS3 controller that had real triggers and asymmetrical sticks for this reason. Luckily, the d-pad on it is nothing like the 360's.

advanced enough to appreciate sonic, and human-animal relations, it seems.

Dual shock was okay in 1997, but now its not such a good idea.

Who knew ripping off the super nintendo controller would let sony's controller r&d department take a 10 year vacation?
Alot of other sandbox games had them too I think...

I'm Sure GTV will make amends of that, and Gay Tony will probably be proof.
Yeah, but True Crime was fun.

Well not LA...that one sucked.

It's a very complicated thing.

Man, I really do hate the Dual Shock stick placement it is so weird and awkward. I actually liked the PS controller before they put the sticks in.

Hey guess what! The last mission in GTAIV has a checkpoint!! You can start from the gunfight if you restart using the text message.

But if you answer Jacob's phone call afterwards, the mission restarts itself. From the beginning.

Now you're just being a douche, Rockstar. fuck you.

It's nice to be near the end of GTA and Banjo, cause whenever Banjo makes me feel like a girl for playing a game where a bear turns into a bumblebee I can shoot minorities.
BF1943 GGT Clan on XBL!

Am I supposed to play Call of Juarez 1 before Bound in Blood?
I'll probably end up picking up BF1943 close to release date. Have to check my points-stock though. I missed the $30 4k points earlier this weekend :bomb:

I'm so angry with it. I hate having to drive/hunt down a taxi to the weapon store every time I load the game to replenish my ammo and armor, I hate the long drive to the mission. Yeah there's finally a checkpoint, but it pretty much bones you anyway because you when you start from there you're low on ammo (I usually run out of sniper rounds then, which is a piss) and have no armor, which makes the shootout even more of an ordeal. And I can't make the fucking jump from the beach on the bike, a couple times I missed the ramp entirely, another time I went up the ramp but spun out halfway through and fell off the side somehow, and another I fell off the bike right before it and crashed. And then I turned it off again.

Yeah, that mission was a bitch. Not sure how you're doing the shootout, but you can get on the roof of that warehouse which makes it a lot easier. You can kill pretty much all the enemies in that area without getting hit by doing that.

As for the bike and the ramp, yeah that part sucks.

Lost and the Damned fixes the checkpoints and guns situation, so hopefully they will change that forever. that was the worst part of GTA4 (and every GTA before it.)

Agreed. No idea why that wasn't fixed before Lost and the Damned.

Nah I'm fine with the indoor part of the shootout, and i could do the outside part fine too with body armor, but when I don't have armor I usually end up getting fucked up before I can get to the health pack inside...especially when something fucking stupid happens, like the car you start behind catches on fire, rolls down the hill at you, and catches you on fire. Or when you get shot as soon a cutscene ends and lose 1/4th your health.

So I'm getting one of those Madden PSPs from a friend this week. The only problem is there's no power adapter but I can just pick one up from Gamestop or something. Isn't there an improved third-party battery for 2000s? Might have to look into that. Also should I go out and immediately get a bigger memory stick or is the 1gb gonna suit me fine until I start getting lots of games?

Oh man, I'm so tempted. I love me some Battlefield, but I don't think I could play that game on a console. It is a PC game...

Man, playing inFAMOUS after GTAIV is so refreshing. You basically get a check point every five feet. That is how games SHOULD BE DONE! Seriously, it doesn't mean you will get yourself killed or there is no longer any tension. It only adds it does not retract. Just playing Dead Space, I ran into a similar problem. At times there would be very little checkpoints for hours.
If you're only using the memory stick for game saves, 1gb is more than enough.
What else would I use it for? I won't be getting demos since I don't have access to a PS3.
Why not just stock up on ammo and body armor and if you die, reload that save.
Eh it doesn't really matter, because if I have to reload a save I have to start the entire mission over, which means I have to get a taxi because I'm not driving all the way to the beginning of the mission, so it's just a minor stop...but goddamn, I just hate doing all this shit over and over.
