Oh, when I said good catch, I meant about the dragon and DQ logo. In case you thought otherwise.
Silicon Studio is the dev, not much info about them. I know they made a well received puzzle game in Japan though.

Picked up 2 X-Blades for $0. Is one worth keeping?

Wow, dallow. Did you catch a Target clearance at the right time?

Offhand, I'd say keep it if you like mindless hack and slash. I didn't hear too many good things about the game though.

Scribblenauts and Mario and Luigi tomorrow!

If my big commissions come through on this check maybe a PS3 slim too. I've gotta get ODST on this check too, though.

I can't decide what game to get first. Motorstorm 2 is way overpriced everywhere. Maybe Killzone 2 or Infamous. I kinda want KZ2 just to experience the PS3 hype-wagon game.

Wolfenstein is actually getting better as you get more powers and weapons. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm surprised how fun Spiderman web of shadows is too. So many hundreds of collectible orbs.. can't stop looking for them..

So is it confirmed at all ToysRus locations that you get a $15 card with the purchase of Scribblenauts? If not, I'm running over to GS now for the midnight launch.

Eh... that is what I feared. I guess I'll wait for more reviews and maybe for a price drop. The game seems like something that would be good fun for an afternoon and after that you'd never play it again, only to check some words that you thought up or saw online.

TMK & dallow are importing.

ign review of scribblenauts is up

looks like they got the idea down but all touch controls was a huge oversight
damn if only they added dpad and face button controls

Picked up Singstar Vol. 2 PS3 for $10 @ Walmart. Also got a GoW PSP and NSF PSP for $10ea. as a gifts. Too bad these Walmart clearance deals are so YMMV.
I want Wet too....

For about $20
Unlike everyone apparently (at least people that do podcasts) I loved the Wet demo but I get a vibe from it that we'll be seeing it for $20 or less in no time.

Just buy Stranglehold, mess around with your TV's color settings and squint at the screen while you play it...........you got Wet ;)

I'm playing Dragon Quest IV.

Really enjoy it, but there's not a lot of "local flavor" of the cookie cutter towns outside of the horribly scripted/stereotyped accents the residents use to mask the similarities. So when characters tell me to travel back to Midgar or whatever the fuck, I don't know where to go. But if they say "go to where all the frenchies are," then it would be clearer.

Reviews are pretty good so far and controls are the only real complaint.
bah. who needs good controls? the neogaf logo is in the game duuuuuude! ^______^;;;;;
Review was just what I was looking for.
I mean, aside from wonky controls, he was astounded by the creativity of the game. As am I.

did you miss the complaint on wildly varying difficulty?

and the controls really do suck.

it's neat though.

Yeah, and I like me a challenge in puzzle games.

This user quote sums it up for me.

- If you're focused on creativity, imagination, and exploring solutions and wacky ideas, as well as screwing around with all kinds of creatures and objects, Scribblenauts will deliver.

- If you're looking for a platformer, or a game with intricate Garry's Mod-esque precision, you'll be disappointed due to inconsistent and often frustrating controls.
And I was looking for a purely creative/original game so I can't to pick it up today.

Part of it is really cool. But the fact that there's no precision drives me nuts. There's a level where you have to clean up garbage in the park or something. I was able to pick up the beer bottle and throw it in the trashcan without a problem, but there was a piece of candy that wouldn't register no matter where I tapped on it. So I tried a vacuum cleaner, and that didn't do jack. So I summoned a black hole and Max died, start the stage again. Ugh.
You should've summoned a dog, ants, or a fat kid to eat the candy.
I've not spent a lot of time with it yet, but that goes against the mantra of summoning the fewest things possible to solve the level.

Speaking of ants, there's a level I messed with where you have to protect a sandwich from ants without killing them. I tried summoning walls and stuff, but by the time i got them summoned and placed, the ants had eaten the food. I got mad, and picked the sandwich up then ran from one end of the level to the other and back and it counted it as solved...

I really enjoyed Web of Shadows. The combat is very hyper-kinetic (which is a good thing since the game is so combat-heavy). I've been meaning to replay it as evil too (same with inFamous).
The controls in Scribblenauts are really bad.

:whistle2:(
That's what I'm saying. :|
Scribblenauts is perfect for Mak. He gets it. ;)

As for the trash, summon a black hole and suck it all away.
I did. You didn't read. The black hole sucked everything in, including Max, killing him.
Couldn't you have summoned an ant eater?
No. Hippy would've been mad because you harmed the ants and thus you'd fail.

It was probably clumsy as hell to have to control using the buttons, and have to switch over to the stylus, and put the stylus down again, and switch back all the time. (even worse if you're left handed)

It's not a platformer, you're merely guiding the main character and creating the world around him.
I hear making an elevator and making him use it is a good way of 'pausing/holding' him.

It gets frustrating when you need to push a switch in (to the right) and you can't get the precision to keep the item you're using to hold it in the right place. :|

What's worse is when you enter the lexicon, things don't stop moving. So in that level with the ants, you're limited by how fast you type... hence why i picked up the sandwich and ran.

Ok .. well how about a pile/bag of sugar? The ants would be more attracted to that and they wouldn't be hurt.

It sounds intriguing.
