L4D2 is such a cash-in.
Nope.

Demon's Souls - i'll need a demo first. Sounds boring.

Infamous is awesome except anyone who complained about prototype sending too many dudes at you at once - It's way worse in this game. There's constantly dudes on roofs shooting you like crazy and groups of dudes on the street chasing you. It's not that bad to me, but it's a little more annoying than the enemies in prototype.

(1) Nope.

(2) If you beef up your D, the guys on the roof ain't shit.
L4D2 is such a cash-in.
Indeed.
Valve deserves a cash in.
fuck no. Valve didn't get it's reputation by cashing in. Activision and GH series cashed in. What Valve deserves is for Gabe Newell to choke on a motherfucking Twinkie.
MW2 is 11.10.09.

AC2 is 11.17.09, I think. Maybe with L4D2.
Gah, those are way too close together. I'm gonna be broke and out of time...

I think I'm going to be getting a PSP through a trade. What are some sleeper hit games for the system I should check out? I know the big games, but I'm sure there are a lot of niche titles for it like there is for the ds.

Valve has updated Tf2 to the point where it's almost a whole new game, for free. They gave us the best video game deal EVER with The Orange Box. They've even given us another L4D campaign, again, for free. Valve deserves its fucking cash in.

Dead Head Fred seemed to be awesome in every aspect but the controls. I think it's fair to say if you can stomach the controls, you'll love the game.

I respectfully disagree.

If Valve was really so great, they'd have put out a cumulative patch for the 360 TF2 for free. Or would've put out the new L4D campaign for free. But Valve doesn't want to foot the bill for it, so 360 people who support the company get fucked up the goat ass. I don't see Valve pulling what The Behemoth is doing with giving away a plethora of free codes for their new DLC either. Besides, Valve already had a cash in -- Portal: Still Alive was a pretty big one, IMO.

Who cares?
Yes, L4D2 may be very much the same from the first, but from what everyone has been saying about it, it deserved to be a sequel, not a DLC.
From the looks of it, I personally agree.

I'll be buying the new maps tomorrow, and getting L4D2 day one, only because I enjoy it. I think L4D2 looks sick.

Anyone else grab the Shivah today? I'm stuck and it's driving me totally crazy, there's gotta be some function I haven't figured out somehow. I'm kind of a noob at adventure games so that's probably why.

So here's where I'm stuck, maybe you can help me without giving away too much:
I found Joe DeMarco at Paddy's Pub, but all of my dialogue options with him and the bartender get me absolutely nowhere. I've tried combining all the clues but they don't add together any further. There's gotta be some way I can show Rabbi Zelig's ID card to Joe DeMarco because he seems fuzzy on Zelig, but the only options I have are talking about persons of interest and he brushes me off on every single one. Doesn't even matter how many times I ask or in what order.

so overall honest impressions of this game?

Prototype is the best game I've played in years and all the evidence necessary to prove game reviewers are fucking morons. I started yesterday around 6pm, currently 8pm the following day and this is the first break I've taken other than food & sleep breaks. Haven't done that with a game since I was in a middle school. Haven't found a game good enough to do that for until now.

It's by far the most intense game I've ever played, I have no idea what people are bitching about "too chaotic" for, it's completely manageable, it's just not a bunch of one-at-a-time fights (read: boring) like most games. Maybe the "hardcore gamer" nerds just can't handle the intensity? I don't know, that's the best rationale I can muster for their inexplicable bitching about the game's supposed chaos.

I'm sick of "hardcore" gamers being the only people who write reviews... they have awful taste in games. They care waaaaaaay too much about technical details and innovation. For the majority of people who play games, casual gamers like me, all that matters is that it's fun, and Prototype is the most fun I've ever had in my 17 years of gaming. I can't quite call it my favorite game just yet because I haven't beaten it yet, but I fully expect it to take that crown.

Oh.. and if any of you smoke.. be sure to play Prototype stoned. It's so epic, especially the opening scene & following battle, there couldn't be a better stoner game. It's so perfect. I don't understand how they could possibly improve anything for the sequel...

I don't "smoke" but I really liked prototype. I had a lot of fun with it, but it has a LOT of problems. I wouldn't have given it higher reviews than it got.
I'm starting to think you like vidya games even less than Frosty does.
While I often don't agree with his taste in games, I do agree that we both ask a bit more from our games.
Street fighter was never meant to have "pretty" characters, lol.

Play Dead or Alive if you want that. :/

That said, I didn't really care for SFIV, so this doesn't excite me much.
I don't care if they're pretty. I just ask that they don't disgust me to look at them. The character designs combined with SF4's horrible art style really turned me off.

Well said.

Oh, and Prototype sucked.

I just didn't like their steroid makeover. Everything else was ok.

Wow, that is an insane glowing review. It is great you liked it. I thought it was utterly terrible... Big mess.

Ohhh, I read your last line. That explains it.

I'm selling a Dual Shock 3 bundled with Socom Confrontations for $45 shipped (Priority shipping with a DC#) if anyone is interested. Just PM me.
Both mint/complete. :D

Yeah, I don't understand being mad about L4D2. It's nice when they do free shit, but they're not doing anything wrong by making a sequel so quickly.

Friend coming back from Japan brought me Echochrome, Twinbee and Parodius for PSP, yet I do not currently own a PSP nor do I plan to purchase one in the near future :whistle2:k

Unfortunately, he forgot that I also asked for Princess Crown PSP

Playing Arkanoid with the paddle controller is all sorts of awesome.

I'm sure I will be sharing your anger once I play through episode 2. Played through HL2 and Episode One thus far for RebelFM's game club. My first time through either one. I wasn't really feeling HL2 at first due to the 2 vehicle segments, but they had me by the time I got to lead the Antlions into Nova Prospekt.

The PS3 versions aren't as bad as I had been led to believe. HL2 started chugging only at the Strider fights for me, and Episode One not at all from what I can remember. A better result than I had on PC, where HL2 would constantly crash as soon as I got pulled aside by Barney at the beginning, every single time.
He certainly liked rubbing the box, didn't he? (see what I did there?)
It is bumpy.

And HOLY SHIT it comes with Demon's Souls: The Manual!!

And a strategy guide, which he basically admitted contains stuff I'll be able to find online.

Oh, and I always love when someone thinks their opinion of a game means more than just about everyone else's. "Oh, I loved this game. All of the reviewers who said it was shit are just out-of-touch." "This game blows. It just got good reviews, because of the hype." Is it just possible that you like a bad game or you hate a good game? Is it seriously that crazy of a thought? I have a copy of Gears of War sitting here. I hate it. I don't know why. Seems like a good game. Just can't get into it. Doesn't mean it blows, and everyone who likes it is a fool.

I like the package... but what sold me is that they included a "FULL COVER MANUAL"

What they should have done is provide a couple of dynamic themes. Plus the guy showed the entire artbook.. what the sense of buying it now.

Just got Williams Pinball for 360 today. Been playing Zen for so long, it feels like the paddle response in the game is too slow, but I was able to adjust after a bit. Man, what does it take to get a cheesemint in this game.

want the game on other platforms

I consider Episode 2 a bit of a step down from Episode 1 (which I considered an enormous step up from the main game). Didn't mind the driving much - I have a tremendous ability to look past that sort of thing (see: my love for Wind Waker), but you just spend too damn much time fighting antlions and blocking off half your screen using the gravity gun.
What the hell is Demon Souls? And why does it deserve an unboxing?
Cause its super Japanese so "hardcore gamers" and the GAF love it.
Actually it does.
From the man consistently harping on ME for criticizing others' taste.

You, of all people should be used to not agreeing with other people's opinions, mr Lady GaGa Dynasty Warriors Futanari.

I'm sorry, I won't joke around anymore. Other than that one joking comment right now please point out a post where I've ever criticized someone because of a game they liked.

Your point?

It's a good thing I held off on Katamari Forever. After the price drop, coupon and ECA discount I got it for about $11.

Do kind of want now...

But yeah, for hardcore gamers only, game is punishing by all review accounts.
Not just GAF love it but there was a pretty good dedicated thread for the game here on CAG despite being import only for so long. And every major reviewer throws heaps of praise at it.

Anyway, I think it's a pretty important game is all. ;)

Demon Souls comes out next week, didn't realize it was so soon.

I started playing Dwarf Fortress last night. That game is all kinds of complicated awesome.

When they promised community support and such for L4D with a bunch of DLC and such and then never really delivered (other than survival mode) and people found out it was because they were busy making a sequel, that's what pissed people off. Valve saved some face by releasing the new campaign though -- we'll see how their "support" continues after the new one drops -- also, it doesn't really seem like a new game -- more of an update to some (me included) -- 4 new campaigns, a few new special infected, and the ability to use melee weapons. Anyway, the a large part of the hate is coming from the fact that many people shelled out $55 for the original L4D with the promise of great support through DLC and a year later, there's a new sequel for $55 and Valve is more than likely to drop their support of L4D when L4D2 hits.
hahahah.

*shrug*

HL2: "Eh, this has its flaws, but is generally pretty bitchi- NO! Barney! Get back! You'll set off the turr... god fucking dammit."

E1: "Holy shit, an AI partner that's actually good? Farah can fuckin' eat me."

E2: "Why am I shooting bugs? I thought we were past this..."
