I thought the ending was hard the first time I did it, but anytime after that it was pretty easy.

I would go for Borderlands, but really up to you.
Brutal Legends was gimmicky when I played it. :cold:

both. :whee:

Haven't been paying attention to Borderlands as I have too many games on my radar so my vote is for Brutal Legend. Can never go wrong with a Tim Schafer game.
Just finished Uncharted in anticipation of Uncharted 2 and what a great game. Always wanted to play it when it came out but waited until it got cheaper. My only complaint has to be the difficulty spiking way up at the end.
I just finished it last night.

It was a good game, but no real high points to be honest other than the car chase.

I did really hate one thing in the game though: how unfairly accurate the enemy is and how it took like 50 bullets to just kill 1 guy. I do hope in U2 that the enemies are easier to kill but there's just more of them. Based off what i played off the beta a few months ago I think they did just that.

also for me comedy game > action game
both. :whee:
If I could I definitely would ;)

The only game I am for sure getting is Ratchet and Clank. That's why I'm trying to decide between the other two :p

Oh god no.

Rent R&C, wait on R&C, something... divert funds from that to BL and Borderlands.

Headshots worked fine for me in Uncharted, RR.

 I don't play as many shooters as most people nowadays so yes, I do suck
But I love R&C
So did I. Until R&CF:ToD. Then I gave QFB a shot. Now I won't touch R&C:ACiT unless I can borrow it off a buddy for free.

Brutal Legend seems like one of those good Xmas games you'd get in December as a gift or with Xmas money and enjoy a lot during the break. As much as I'm looking forward to it, Assassin's Creed 2 will probably be like that, too.
So did I. Until R&CF:ToD. Then I gave QFB a shot. Now I won't touch R&C:ACiT unless I can borrow it off a buddy for free.
What didn't you like about them?
What didn't you like about them?
QFB felt like a cash-in -- I had high hopes for it... and I ended up getting it through gamershare for ~$3 and I was still disappointed with it. I've always liked the shooting/action/gunplay more than the 3d puzzle platforming... they took most of my weapons away... the story didn't do it for me... i was hoping for a new gun or two... just didn't deliver.

ToD felt like they dumbed it down. The writing seemed way off -- like it was trying to emulate the writing from UYA or GC but was an imitation, not a continuation. I don't know really, it felt too easy. It felt like it lost it's charm/quirk to me. Looked great. Can't knock the graphics at all. And some of the writing was pretty decent, but it just didn't live up to what I was expecting from a next generation R&C. I mean, I played through R&C at least twice, and was probably working on playthrough 3 or 4 for both GC and UYA when the next installment came out. I skipped Deadlock (or whatever it was) because it seemed to be more of the capture the flag type stuff from UYA that didn't do it for me... but ToD... even the weapons felt off. Usually, I love grinding out the weapon upgrades and such, I love hunting all the enemies on a planet down for the extra bolts for upgrades... and none of that was there for me in ToD.

I didn't think QFB felt like a cash in, it did definitely go more towards the puzzle/platforming side of things, which I can definitely understand as being a turnoff. ToD is my second favorite Ratchet personally (after UYA). but I can sort of see what you're talking about.

I was just curious because one of my friends hates the series and I couldn't understand why.

I don't hate the series... I'm just disappointed in what Insomniac put forth as their "next-gen" effort.

I think R&C was probably the closest thing Sony had to a Sonic or Mario in the PS2-gen, actually.

I can see what you mean, I still love them though...at least FTOD, QFB was good, but not great.

I do love the 3 Sonic/Marioish style games Sony had from the PS2 (Sly, Ratchet, Jak).

Jak is finally coming (although on PSP/PS2), but where's Sly? As much as I want Infamous 2, I also want Sly. Sucker Punch needs to expand and work on both.

InFamous 2 would be kind of weird... they should make you happy and work on Sly. (Never played a Sly game myself, and only the first Jak -- didn't care for that one so much either.)

I think Infamous 2 would be sweet. Also I didn't like the first Jak and Daxter either. Jak 2 and 3 is where it's at.

A game that did feel like a cash in was Sly 3. It just felt...unpolished. Not a bad game though.

I beat the Halo 3: ODST campaign earlier. Um...yeah...it's pretty terrible. First off, it's short. I beat it in about 4-5 hours and I spent about an hour of that to hunt down 16 of the 30 Audio Files. I still need to go through in Legendary, though. I also joined up with a CAG and friends to get Endure. But let's face facts: It's not a $60 game, maybe not even $40. The Halo 3 disc is nice and all, but they could've easily released a 2nd sku and put the final 3 maps on the marketplace.

Firefight is definitely the highlight of it, but this engine really shows it's old age without a matchmaking system for Campaign and Firefight (which can make waiting to gather friends a chore).

Maybe some hope for you, from the IGN preview, since i guess he wasn't impressed with FTOD like you: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/102/1023732p1.html

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time looks great, and this is coming from someone who wasn't all that impressed with Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. It was fun, but it didn't get my blood pumping. A Crack in Time has me ready and waiting for Oct. 27, 2009.

If it's more exciting than FTOD that would be pretty awesome.

I am playing Mass Effect on Insanity for the first time.

I am playing as an Infiltrator, specializing in the sniper rifle.

I decided to make my first mission the one to recruit Liara.

I forgot about the fucking Krogan.

fuckfuckfuckfuck you, Bioware, for making me watch this fucking unskippable cuntwhore cutscene again and again and afuckinggain. Why the fuck does this game autosave before the son of a whore cutscene (and an elevator ride longer than Rasputin's dick) just before the motherfucking boss? Jesus tittyfucking Christ, Bioware, is this an Albertan thing? Are you guys so fucking fucked on the coke you bought with your god damned tarsands money that you are incapable of recognizing when one of your decisions is an absolute piece of shit?

fuck. This. Cutscene.

EDIT: Also, way to build a room with zero fucking cover. Really fucking impressive, you know? I mean, I've seen levels with minimal cover before, but it's quite rare that you end up in an environment wherein you can actually be hit from every single god damn point in the god damn room. Must'a taken you guys quite a while to make that one. But not as much time as it takes me to ride your fucking elevator.

...

I did not take a well-rounded team with me. I should have brought my own Krogan so I would have some biotics. My team is all guns, and my komrades - Ashley and Garrus - get shot down in the first few seconds every time. I really need someone with Lift.

And some more grenades. Why can I not replenish my supply of grenades/healing gel on my ship? This makes no grarghargarharrrrg...

EDIT: I managed to kill all the Geth in the area once, thanks to some well-placed grenades and Ashley actually surviving for a while. The Krogan killed me, with full shields and full health, in a single punch. And he runs about a billion times faster than me. fuck you, Alberta. fuck you all.

EDIT2: Hey, managed to whittle it down to just the Krogan again. He only starts chasing you once all the Geth are killed. I'm trying to keep one of the Geth alive, but the sons of bitches are just so damn aggressive themselves that I have no choice about it.

Finally played the Brutal Legend demo... maybe the demo isn't indicative of the final product, maybe my expectations were too high, or just maybe it's the latest in a looooong list of this gen's Games-That-Most-People-Seem-To-Love-But-Arent-Fun-To-Play-And-Are-Really-Just-Linear-Interactive-Stories-With-Good-Presentation... probably the third one. It was alright, but my time would've been better spent finishing up Prototype.
I don't think anyone in here paid $60 for ODST. Well, at least I didn't. :)
I'm just putting it out there. I paid $51 for it (+ $10 gift card, Amazon) and I kinda feel a bit ripped off right now. That might change if I decide to put more time into Halo 3 for the final Vidmaster Challenge (I have a ways to go), but who knows. I finished off the Audio Logs and one more random achievement. Now I need to do 3 weapon achievements, 4 firefight achievements and 3 Campaign achievements (Hoping to get a Legendary Co-Op game going tomorrow around 10pm EST) to get the full 1000g.

Oh, and I finally finished off Chapter 3 of Tales of Monkey Island. Slight chuckles from every
non-demonic skulled
character. Still good, 3.5/5, and probably the weakest thus far. The next one really has me excited, though. And it has excited me ever since I saw the Episode Titles list.

I just wanted to play a little bit of Civ Rev for 360...it's now 1:15am and I ran through one complete game. >_< Dang, but that game can be addicting...

tell me about it! that was one game i wasn't expecting to get into that much, but wow, i spent hours just to reach an economic victory.

Sometimes I get pissed at a game and have a post like this in me, but generally cool down before I get around to actually writing it.

Sounds like your problem is a result of one of my many complaints about WRPGs, you have "freedom," but the game isn't really built to let you play however you want.

I finally played a little more Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and I'm just reminded of how bad I am at the game... yet I still enjoy it.
Did a lot of Ass Creed playing last night. I really gotta cut back on the tertiary missions though or I'll never get done.
Hey Mak, when you're in the "real world" in Assassins Creed how much time do you spend ogling Veronica Mars?????

No................. maybe just me then

Finished up most of Fallout 3 over the weekend, couple of things I need to do for cheesemints, I think I'll struggle to stop playing it TBH. I almost bought Broken Steel so I could keep going but I really need to play through some other games and then come back to it.

Played the Brutal Legend demo, which I thought was quite good but "not pre-order it from Amazon" good.

I thought it was easy or you were really good at it? Maybe that was someone else. ;)

How far are you?
I wonder if Sucker's next game is going to be Infamous 2?
InFamous 2 would be a slippery slope, where they left the story, IMO. They'd have to bring Cole back with all his powers, which would make the game much different, as powerups and upgrades would be hard to add on. Going the GoW -> GoW2 route where Kratos somehow was stripped of all his gear so you could re-obtain similar items during gameplay... fucking lame.

I have a pet theory that Samus is a black-market arms dealer. That would explain both why I have to find a new missile launcher in virtually every fucking game and how it is that she can afford a new ship for every mission she undertakes.

It certainly wasn't me since I've always sucked at NG games. And I'm still in the first level shortly after I picked up the staff. I've been busying playing Persona on my PSP for the last 2 days and just started playing again.

I don't know after finishing the game Cole looks like his power could get...somewhat stronger. And to be honest a few of his powers could still be unlocked at the start(I'm looking at you Shield and crappy hover powers).

God, inFamous would've been so much better (it was good, but still... improvement, people!) if they had started cole out with induction grind/static thrusters to start. Traveling sucked ass cause he was slow and when you needed to get somewhere you couldn't hop on the train... guh.

I smashed my copy of Mass Effect. (I should've just gave it away, but I wanted to make a scene, lol)

It was just horrible.

-Lag fest

Did I mention lag fest?

And I finished the game twice.

Yeah that's what most people I know also says.
But I guess it was probably my copy of Mass Effect. I just bought it used..

The previous owner must've crisped the copy out that he decides to sell it. And gave me a Lagfest version of Mass Effect..

Last Boss Battle Lag impression
Going to Dashboard impression exiting Mass Effect. :hot: 60FPS

Ah. PC version, here. Laptop has no problem with every setting maxed (I think).

...

Oh yeah, fuck THE OVERHEAT BUG. How in all of fucking fuck did QA not pick that up? And how did it not get patched immediately?

Dammit, I was trying to resist myself on trying out the Brutal Legends demo because I might have the urge to try and buy it..

But damn the demo is funny and sexy and awesome.

I was reading a review of Infamous in Games TM this weekend and they were having a moan about it feeling unfinished, they said there was loads of bugs and pop-up and they felt it had been rushed out to beat Prototype.

Most people commenting on it have usually been positive and I don't remember hearing anyone complaining about bugs. Are there issues with bugs and pop-ups, and if so are they that noticeable ?
