Get good money for your trade-ins at this site!!

Bastion

CAGiversary!
http://www.wherehouse.com/

It allows you to trade in DVD's, Games and music cd's for in-store credit. It's great on old sports games. I have over $50 credit after selling Madden 2004, High Heat Baseball 2004 and The Hobbit. Be sure to check it out Cheapasses!!

I read about it on a blog at Gamerfeed.com.

"If you do the math it's not really a great deal. They give you more but they also charge you more when you cash in that credit. Add in Shipping and Tax and what you thought was a steal was only a high stakes gamble.

I'll pass. "

I traded in 4 games that cost me about $25. They reimbursed me to ship them the games. I got $65 in credit. So I can get a new $50 game and a cd with my credit and I only had to pay $25 out of pocket. So to me its a good deal.

Yeah, the only thing I don't like about their policy is that if something is sratched, not only will they give you NOTHING for it, they will THROW AWAY the disc for you.

And yes, the website (as well as regular retail store) has ridiculous prices on some of the older games, but you can use the credit toward a new release or pre-order. Those are $49.99 everywhere, so no rip-off there.
So how does the shipping to them work..exactly?
Put stuff in a box, go to your post office, send it Media Mail.

I sent 4 games I got from the CC $4.99 sale. It cost like $1.60 to ship.

They gave me $14 credit for 3 games and $10 credit for 1, plus $1.84 to cover shipping (they do that for 4 or more tradeins). So I have around $54 credit now, and after shipping and tax a new game is around $57.

I was planning on getting Transformers, but will instead pick it up at Target or PM to CC... gotta find a good $50 game to maximize the profit. :)
Mailed 'em. Said that if a CD is scratched, they toss it.. no returns.
Well, it's your fault if you can't take care of your CDs :)

I just traded a huge number of games to them for a nice chunk of credit. Besides the CC games i found some other good trade in deals for old games i was never going to play again. I got $5.00 each for Gran Turismo 1 and 2, $13 for Quake 3 Arena on Dreamcast, and $7 for Mech Assault. If i would have brought those 4 games to Gamestop i would have probrobly gotten just enough money for a pack of gum.

I dont wanna do any selling to them online cause i'd have to buy from them and they're way overpriced, on games at least. But thanks for the info. I'll try in-store trading there.

As others have pointed out, their prices on new games are just fine... I got Tales of Symphonia for three games that I bought for $11 total...

Took it from their help page

"Is there a limit to the amount of product I can Sell to Wherehouse.com?
You can Sell as much merchandise as you like at one time, however, we will only accept one piece of a particular title from each customer."

i just did a quick search through some of their games, i got the list of circuit city games from the forum on the first page and did some searches, of the 14 games i searched from CC for a total of 145 plus tax the wherehouse.com credit would give me 248!!! some deal eh? i doubt i need that much but i figure 100 bucks worth for say halo 2 and doom 3

"Prices on trade-ins just dropped 60% It's over "

Youre right they arent giving as much any more. I got $63 for 4 games I traded in a couple weeks ago but if I did it now I would only get $32.50.

nfl street 6$
blitz pro $6
FF CC $10
rygar $6
live 2002 $6

so far every title I've tried cept live has given me at less than half the cred that gamestop would. fucking weak :(

whyd they do that so soon? i was just about to trade in my copy of socom (14.99_ and manhunt(19.99)...now theyre worth $8 each...im such a procrastinator...

So has anyone tried to trade-in their stuff in-store? There are both a Wherehouse Music and an FYE in my city so let me know if the trade-in values are the same.

Shame they dropped their prices...

I just competed a trade with them through the mail; less than a ten day turn around for me to ship my stuff to them and get my game back... I sent them three games I purchased for $11, and got Tales of Symphonia for FREE... still have .40 worth of credit left ;)

website prices and b&m price are not the same...i went to the beverly hills wherehouse and the cashier was giving me less than what the website indicated...

the wherehouse stores usually give you 2 options: trade in games, cds, and dvds for 1)store credit or 2) cash...cash disbursement being $2-3 less than what they give you in store credit...

I traded in my games at a local FYE instead of Wherehousemusic.com. The values seemed the same to me. The only problem is the online site does NOT allow you to cancel an order, even preorders. They send the order to their distributer in advance, so once you place it, it's a done deal. You can refuse the package or ship it back to get a refund, but you'll still get charged. I preordered Armored Core: Nexus in exchange for my trade-ins online, but when I went local and tried to cancel the online order, they told me I was SOL. It's not the end of the world, but it's definitely a hassle.

Good times.

Yep. Ordered Disgaea from wherehouse.com, traded some :bs: , shows up "add to cart " but order status "backordered" . Send couple emails. Girl Sarah doesn't know :censored: Waiting...

I had my preorder of Maddn '05 and Fable cancelled. I sent an e-mail saying that my card was charged for the preorders. I said that it caused my bank account to go negative and I had a bunch of pending transactions that still hadn't posted to my account. Which in turn would of cost me about $150-175 in overdraft charges (overdraft charges are $35 at my bank). My preorder was cancelled within 48 hrs.
