Getting a Laptop painted? Skin?

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be getting my girlfriend a laptop for Christmas and I was hoping to get something a little different. I was thinking maybe trying to get it painted with a design on the lid. I wouldn't be doing it myself and I saw there are some services online that do that kind of stuff and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any particular sites getting it done?

Do you think I would be better off finding an artist on craigslist or something to do it?

Or should I go for one of those laptop skins you can get from some artists' websites?

Any help would be great!

Skin would be a better choice for the future. If it gets scratched you can peel it off and have it replaced compared to a actual painting where it may get damaged in the future. Also you can sell the laptop off easily if you want to get a better one in the future.
