Getting rid of games.

I just got a PS3 and a wii and no longer play most of my pc games. I am selling most of my PC games. Anything that doesn't sell, I will give away for free. This is not spam, I really mean it. They are taking up too much space and have to go. Whatever I don't sell on ebay will be free to whoever wants it, friends, family, goodwill, you guys, I don't care, they just have to go.

You can probably get more for them as a tax break by giving them to a local community computer center.

I volunteer for a Children Center for runaways and foster kids and we get a lot of PC game donation and will give a receipt for taxes.

If you donate services, time and/or items to a credited volunteer program you can get tax break for it.

For NYC most programs are funded by DYCD (Department of Youth and Community Development) or COPs (The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services). Since these are government funded programs they usually 100% of the time accept for tax break.

That does not mean you should not volunteer to other orgs and perhaps funded by private means just means that you may have to do a little more leg work with the filing...while the gov stuff is stream-lined and straight forward.

Here is a simple guide to sort it all out - http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=content.view&cpid=31

I usually hit the cap for donations every year by mid-Feb for my income bracket but I still volunteer through out the year. It can be quite awesome to help other learn the power and benefits of PC and PC gaming.

This is my 6th year doing this stuff and several of the youths (14 to 16) that assist with computer repair, maintenance and LAN setup were able to find paying internships from their experience with local computer companies.

I just got my associates in math, and don't have any classes to take this summer. I was planning on doing some volunteer work anyways. I am currently waiting for a reply from a science museum. I am still looking for a place that will accept my pc games though.

Not sure how INFORMATION is organized in your city. But in NYC I can call 311 and ask for a list of volunteer location that focus on the 'digital divide.'

The digital divide is the gap between people with effective access to digital and information technology and those with very limited or no access at all. It includes the imbalances in physical access to technology as well as the imbalances in resources and skills needed to effectively participate as a digital citizen. In other words, it is the unequal access by some members of society to information and communication technology, and the unequal acquisition of related skills. The term is closely related to the knowledge divide as the lack of technology causes lack of useful information and knowledge. The digital divide may be classified based on gender, income, and race groups, and by locations. The term global digital divide refers to differences in technology access between countries or the whole world.

You can try this for your area - http://www.handsonsacto.org/agencie...encyDetail&_action=agencyDetail&ixentity=3154

I'm somewhat interested in a couple of your titles (Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider combo, Hitman), but if you find a place to donate them I won't be heartbroken. I'm curious, though, if I were to win a few auctions could there be any savings on shipping?

I'll probably buy two or three games, depends on how much they'll go up to. ( Prostreet for cousin, Moh and BF1942 for me )

edit: post above me, would like to know that to

I'll combine the shipping, just add $1 for all additional items. I'll put them all in a box. Where I live most of the community centers don't allow people to play games on the computers (they are for education only), plus most don't have computers powerful enough to play some of them.

Yeah many centers are like that in NYC but they don't survive for long. We assist the kids with HW and allow them to do research for their assignments but then we have a section for recreational so long as their grades are in order.
