Started up Infamous 2. I actually am liking it a lot more than the first one. fuckin' all sorts of shit up.
 
Infamous 2 was okay. Glad I didn't pay much for it and was able to sell it for a good chunk to recover my initial cost as well. I definitely liked the first game better, minus the lack of options for traveling across the city quickly.
 
I couldn't even finish the first one because I didn't really enjoy it. The second one I'm liking though. Just wish I could play as the remake Cole they originally showed off.

I thought Cole was sweet in the first game. I didn't like him in the second. I barely beat the second game, the longer it went on the worse it got.

He was fine. And even if you didn't like him, radically altering his appearance such that the character apparently made regular visits to a plastic surgeon was not the answer.

As much as I don't like the move in Prototype 2, since they wanted to move away from Alex Mercer as the protagonist, they made him the antagonist and created a new player character. Don't like Cole anymore? Want to change him? Make him the villain and create your new guy. I mean, they had other conduits (ice/fire), so really, they could've done it that way.

That's an idea I like. I would have loved if Cole was the bad guy and I got to play someone that was actually awesome. Maybe Zeke.

Agreed. Though Zeke seems more tolerable so far in Infamous 2. . .I reserve my right to alter my opinion as the game progresses.

between cole and zeke's voice actors, the hilariously dramatic comic book cutscenes, the janky run animation, and exploration constantly interrupted by small arms fire from every rooftop in the city -- i mean, what a shit piece of software that was.

i'm sure infamous 2 is better, but it would of made sense to reboot the characters and try again after that mess.

but i guess people were actually attached to cole, somehow?

Anyone in here highly recommend any of the following, in that they still hold up today:

Breath of Fire IV
Xenogears

I think I'm more likely to buy BoFIV than Xenogears though -- $6 vs. $10...
 
Haven't played Xenogears, but I will always love the Breath of Fire series, and IV was probably the best.

The camera will probably suck, though, because it wouldn't be Breath of Fire otherwise.
 
Xenogears is old school. Expect a lot of reading, but the graphics still hold up because it just feels like a PSP graphic game.

fuck, I need to fix my PS3 to get my PSone games off of there onto my PSP...
 
Can't you use Media Go to get the games off PSN directly onto your PSP?
Otherwise, unless you kept the install bubbles, you'll need to re-download each PSOne title.

I actually lost a Xenogears save that was like 48 hours into the game. The save just vanished off my memory card. I was always so careful...
