Seriously, this is the first time you've played Dark Souls? Glad you are enjoy it and have fun when you get to Sen's Fortress.
Well, I played it on PS3 for an hour or so, ran like ass. But told me enough to cop the PC version. Hit $20, I was bored, so I got it. It's quite fun. :bouncy:

I sent him the PS3 one as a joke just to show him how bad it ran.

The Dollar General Black Friday ad leaked today and I'm probably more excited by the news than I should be... There is an Atari Flashback 4 coming out with wireless controllers and 75 built in games for $25!
I'm soo getting it! (I already have the first 3) :whee:

I'm a little nervous to post a link to a black friday ad due to all of the problems there have been in the past, but here's a preview of it that I found!

It looks exactly like the Flashback 3 except for the UV thing.

So, are the controllers as fragile as the original Atari VCS controllers? I remember going through a ton of controllers because the plastic parts would keep breaking.

Don't trust the ________.

A. Stutter-Crutch
B. Many-As-One
C. Silent King
D. Misery Bringer
E. All of the above
F. Other

EDIT: Also, The Dark Knight Strikes Again is stupid and dumb.

Hopefully in the next week or two. The magic F2P month is November.
So, I played the demo enough to get it to do this:

That is because you have infinite "slash mode" in the intro demo. You have no idea how fucking annoying this was @ E3. Just stop fucking cutting the watermelons so many times. Once you are actually out of training mode (aka the beach area) then you'll see that this ends up becoming a non-issue.

Also look around on the ground at the beach, there should a furry friend with awesome ninja skills.
Halo 4 sucks according to IGN: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/01/halo-4-review
OMG terrible score. I need some Mountain Dew now.

For some reason I decided to play Halo Reach again. Don't know why, either.

- Got all of the Daily Challenges from yesterday done, and might get all of the ones from today done as well.
- The Campaign is still awful. Trying to force emotion is terrible. The combat scenarios leave you in situations where you just have to die until you get lucky. Really Bad.
- Firefight is still fun, but the maps aren't great. Too much decor that gets in the way of the action.
- Matchmaking...I'm good in Halo now? I got like 2.0 K/D ratio yesterday in 4 matches. How?

Will I get Halo 4? Not until a price cut. Maybe not even then. But I guess playing Reach again has somewhat got me mildly interested in it.

I remember that also. I vaguely remember the controllers not being comfortable to use either.

How is the campaign awful? The story may not be great but the gameplay holds up against other shooters. The combat sandbox is balanced, unless you're playing on Legendary or with Skulls. In which case what did you really expect?

That's not really what I'm saying. I'm saying that I feel like the game expects me to know what's around every corner, and if I don't *Dead*. As far as it being a sandbox, sometimes it is, other times not. Some areas are pretty narrow and all you can do to survive is go backwards. In terms of freedom, your freedom is solely determined by the game's AI, which may or may not decide to flank you. If it does, you have no freedom. If it doesn't flank, you do. It's not frustrating, at least not yet.

I am playing on Legendary by the way, but not with Skulls on.

I don't think the campaign was bad at all. Legendary was certainly more fair and not as rape-y as it was in Halo 3. Also, the emotion in the story is awesome. I didn't care about any of Noble except for Emile. Carter did become a favorite by the end of the game for how he died, though.

No, that happened during the boss fight when raiden decided to flip himself out of the stage after he pulled someone's spine out and that stupid cat was the first thing I tried to cut.

I've played two Halo games (3 and Reach) and I was not a fan of either.

Y'know, I was thinking "j-cart must be referring to that cat uraizen wanted to chop up last night...".
Seems I was right. ;)

I liked the campaign in Halo Reach a lot, but I don't bother playing on higher difficulties so that saves a lot of frustration.

I really liked the multiplayer with the daily challenges, firefight mode, and all the random modes they added as time went on.

I'm persistent.

So apparently 2K said X-Com was a commercial success. This pleases me.

I appreciate what they attempted there since the first 3 halo games were extremely dry in the character department (ODST was cool though), but let's be honest, the "emotion" was cheesy and cliche as hell.

See, you missed the good one. ODST's campaign was great.

Halo CE had its moments, but I just never understood the following of the series after that (aside from the multiplayer). Shit was so corny, but maybe people are still on their nostalgia trip from the Xbox days. I wish I could feel nostalgia and love bad campaigns

It pleases me too. I hope they continue to refine it and produce more games along those lines. It is nice to see Firaxis doing something other than Civ games.

Ultimate Joel vs. Capcom 3.

That was the point, $$$$a.

I agree wholeheartedly. ODST is the best in the Halo series outside of 2.
GGT loves Halo.
I always forget that Joel is the only other GGT member who likes halo.

I've always enjoyed the multiplayer throughout the series. The only campaign I really liked though was ODST.

i dont mind the campaigns (well, 2 was legit bad by anyone's standard, i think), just don't preach to me about halo lore. shit is dumb.

That makes one of us. I never made it out of basic training in Halo 3; it was so desolate by the time I got the game and started playing that I was stuck in a perpetual deathmatch with this other player who I swear to God must've been cheating.

I'll take CoD as my poison if I want FPS multiplayer.

I've only played Halo 2 and I thought it was completely okay. Halo as a franchise was completely sunk for me by a group of my high school friends being WAY too into Halo 2/3 and treating it like the holy grail of gaming--I don't think I was ever more miserable hanging out with people I actually liked than when Halo 3 was being released.

Friend and I played a SHITLOAD of Halo 1. Mostly co-op campaigns. It was a blast. Halo 2's campaign sucked ass, but the multiplayer was fun as hell. We had 3 Xboxes and 3 TVs set up, usually did 3 on 3 on 3 deathmatches. That shit was a blast and made weekends fly by. Halo 3's campaign was better than 2's by a lot, 3 player co-op was sweet. Multiplayer was really good, but I didn't get into it much, blame Gears of War for that. Never played ODST, and I haven't played much of my free copy of Reach, but I liked what I played of it. No XBL Gold anymore, and I've no plans to resubscribe anytime soon, if ever. I'm slightly interested in Halo 4. If it has LAN co-op (doubtful anymore), I'd get it cheap and roll through it with a friend.
