There sure isn't!So is it really just a home console version of the Vita? And cheaper? That's pretty cool considering a lot of people don't even use their portables outside the house anyway.
Still nothing to play, though.
The lists of games on it aren't that great either, at least not at first :/So is it really just a home console version of the Vita? And cheaper? That's pretty cool considering a lot of people don't even use their portables outside the house anyway.

Haha good stuff, sucks about what you said about the KH theme not being that good though :/
The list is pretty big from what I'm looking at.The lists of games on it aren't that great either, at least not at first :/
Huh, I must have read a list with only a few examples then, didn't know it had those...I don't think it's something I am personally interested in but if it does have most of the games then it's probably not that bad of a deal for people such as yourself who have a lot of games on the Vita and use it more than I do.The list is pretty big from what I'm looking at.
Dragon's Crown? Check.
Persona 4 Golden? Check.
Muramasa Rebirth? Check.
Soul Sacrifice? Check.
Sure it's missing the initial batch of exclusives (WipEout 2048, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush) but when they patch in DS4 support, I'm sure they'll be along as well.
There's just something mind boggling to me, here. Paying for a Vita TV..to play remakes/ports of console games..which I can already play in that same living room on consoles I already own.The list is pretty big from what I'm looking at.

Most consumers sell off their old machines when they go to new ones so if PS4 won't play PS1 games/PS Mini's, etc. like the PS3 can then this may be an ingenious move by Sony. Also more digital sales of PSP, Vita, etc. games. There's just something mind boggling to me, here. Haha I was thinking that same thing! A lot of these games are out on PS3/360 and many people who would have a Vita probably have at least one of those as well, but I guess people not keeping their systems is a good point, I have all of my systems still though. There's just something mind boggling to me, here. I really need to start watching this. Is it on YT or do I have to watch it on Twitch?
Right but we're the minority. When people learn the new consoles wont play the old stuff they'll grumble at first then sell all their stuff to get the new stuff. Parents won't let their kids keep old games/systems they don't play.Haha I was thinking that same thing! That's what I'm hoping re: more games working. I'd almost definitely get one if it's $100 and I can play Uncharted: GA, along with P4G and the other stuff that already works. The list is pretty big from what I'm looking at.

Even if we consider "ports"... like... say... Dragon's Crown... which isn't really a port... but I digress.Haha I was thinking that same thing! Not like that but they'll trade it away for a PS4, meanwhile this is there and it could serve as a Roku box that also plays games for just a bit more than a Roku box currently goes for. It would be treated like an add-on like controllers, etc.So PS4 will come out -> average consumer will trade away his PS3 for ~$100 -> now he can get a Vita TV and rebuild his library.
Not trying to be a dick. Maybe I'm just not thinking clearly here?
Definitely true. I never keep old consoles. Already ditched my 360, and my PS3 will likely get ditched before I get a PS4 now that I canceled my PS4 preorder. I figure I'll clear our the backlog on it before bothering with a PS4 given there's not killer must have day one games in the immediate post launch period for me.Right but we're the minority. corrosivefrost, if you still wanted killzone mercenary on a disc, check out the bestbuy trade in thread here, http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/295159-best-buy-trade-in-40-see-op/page-81. some quick profit makingI'll happily buy a Vita TV for my bedroom instead of a Roku Box for sure.
Thanks... I actually preordered from Gamestopo and will be picking it up tomorrow.  corrosivefrost, if you still wanted killzone mercenary on a disc, check out the bestbuy trade in thread here, http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/295159-best-buy-trade-in-40-see-op/page-81. some quick profit making
you might have some of the old games on that list in your collection collecting dust. better to get rid of them now, while bestbuy is offering $10-20 for it for future purchases.Thanks... I actually preordered from Gamestopo and will be picking it up tomorrow.
I managed to have enough points on my Power UP Rewards acct to get a $10 off any purchase, so I'm getting it for $30... that's probably the best I can do... so it works for me.
Not a bad idea, but most of my collection is either things I intend to play or things that are digital or things that are wayyyy outdated -- the only stuff I have for trade is some of my PS3 backlog (not going anywhere, mostly, I've pruned what I can already) and my 3DS backlog is all stuff I still want to play... so yeah. Probably not a good fit. you might have some of the old games on that list in your collection collecting dust. better to get rid of them now, while bestbuy is offering $10-20 for it for future purchases.
That's a good thing, from where I'm sitting. I've never played a Pokemon game and I don't plan on starting now.The Vita TV is cool I guess, but I still won't get it or a regular Vita. Neither play Pokemon.
That wasn't me, but now you might have just gotten me to back it.Whoever whined about Shantae not being on Vita:

Vita and Vita TV support announced! Now what?!
Just got that email, too. Paypal is shady asYay, my whining worked! Shantae on Vita!!! :fistpump:
Also, Yatagarasu is getting screwed by Paypal. I was wondering why they didn't use kickstarter...oh wells....
nhl 14, is going to buggy as hell, just like the last one. preordered kingdom hearts 1.5 hd remix, still deciding whether i will actually pick it up. the dynamic theme preorder bonus is a joke. looked really blend.Gonna dl that NHL 14 later yo.  Don't miss out on Puppeteer aka sleeper hit of the year!   PS Plus sales this week is horrible.
Paypal always gets shit for being crazy shady. They decide they want to be a "bank" when it benefits it, but when something goes wrong they claim they aren't a bank.
Paypal got me $500 back when someone tried selling me a used Samsung Galaxy S3 as if it were new. So I have some love for Paypal.Yeah, Iing hate ebay/paypal. They are one of those companies who exist solely to take people's money and don't want to give shit back in return...I mean, I'm all for capitalism myself, but these guys also make me understand why people hate the
out of capitalism.
So you got a new phone and your $500 back.. So I have some love for Paypal.
Now it's worth playing since it's on a good device.Whoever whined about Shantae not being on Vita:

Vita and Vita TV support announced! Now what?!
I didn't pay 90 for both since I didn't buy it in general yet haha, as for playing it on the TV, that feature was built into the PSP and I still only used it like 3 times, I'd rather just play on the small screen and have something else on my tv, especially depending on if it goes full screen or not (The PSP didn't which sucked), also won't have a PS4 at launch so who knows if I will by the time this thing comes out, it's just not a product for me, but if it sells well then that's good for them!Even if we consider "ports"... like... say... Dragon's Crown... which isn't really a port... but I digress.
Did you pay $90 so you could have both versions? No?
Are you like me... did you pay $40 for the Vita game but wouldn't mind playing it on the big screen when you're home and on your Vita when you're on the bus/train/commuting/away from home/wherever that your 40"+ TV isn't? Yes? Then Vita TV offers something kind of cool for you.
Why buy Rayman Origins several times... just buy it for your Vita then play it on your Vita when you want or on your TV when you want.
Furthermore, as I understand it, the Vita TV will allow you to stream your PS4 to another TV. So you want to play your PS4, but someone's on the TV it's connected to? Go play it on the TV with the Vita TV on it.
I happen to think it's a pretty smart idea.
Also, for the record, the closest thing I listed to a port in the 4 games above is Muramasa, and even then, it's not exactly a port.
For some titles, that argument is true... but even then... MSUHitman is right. If you get rid of your PS3 and want to play UMvC3, how's that going to work for you? It's not. Unless you bought the Vita version to take anywhere and decided you wanted to play via Vita TV on your home TV.
Yeah but if you look at it as a Roku device there's also the Chromecast for $35, which has been selling like hotcakes so far, it's mainly the game features that will convince people to buy it or not.Not like that but they'll trade it away for a PS4, meanwhile this is there and it could serve as a Roku box that also plays games for just a bit more than a Roku box currently goes for. It would be treated like an add-on like controllers, etc.
What Amazon system are you talking about exactly? Is it that Android thing that's not out yet (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/08/08/amazon-developing-android-console-for-release-by-end-of-2013.aspx)? The only thing they really make now that plays games is the KindleDon't forget Vita TV has Roku-like streaming features and will do remote play of PS4 to another TV in your house as well as connect ad hoc to other Vitas for multiplayer games. There's just a multitude of little things that add up for this accessory.
You can treat it as a standalone gaming device like Amazon or Ouya's systems, or you can use it as a clever add-on device to your PS4 or Vita. It's kind of brilliant really.
The more I think about it, the more I think this is really exactly the device the Vita needs to continue to exist. Vita handheld doesn't have to compete with Vita TV--it actually opens the market up more for it. Don't want to spend $200 for a Vita but want to play Vita games, this devices does that and will add streaming media and will sync with your PS4. I own a Vita, but I wouldn't mind playing some of these Vita games on the big screen. I'm probably going to get this.
So uh beat flamelurker with some co-op help walked solo into the next boss area it roared I turned off my ps3. I aint ready for that shit.
.Co-op help? You wuss.
