I haven't been able to connect to anyone at all via random play. It just drops me from the lobby after a few minutes. Anybody down for Brawl right now?

"Suffer like G did!"

HotD is still awesome. The 3rd game holds up really well, and the second game is still worth it just for the voice acting XD
GT gave NG DS an 8.8:

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31798.html
Still kinda on the fence on it (even though I have it preordered for the stylus), but looking like I'll keep it. Hate the $35, but I won't have anything else to play on the DS between whenever I finish Apollo Justice and Rondo of Swords and/or World Ends With You in mid-April.

Shit, I totally missed the newest speedy ad thread...Hot Shots PS3 for $50!!! fuck yeah, and still have the $10 GC from the DMC4 special they had! :whee:

I haven't played too many involved games lately. I need to play some more Lost Odyssey. I've been playing some UT3 with my friend. We both aren't very good, so we team up and kill bots. It's pretty fun. And we played some 3 way deathmatch in The Club, which was fun also. I've been all about fighters as of late.

I loved No Country For Old Men. I think I just dug the style of the story telling and the really stark outlines of the characters that help you understand why they're doing what they're doing. I enjoyed it a lot.

As for gaming, all games should have the "Save anytime as long as you're not in combat" feature that Mass Effect has. It makes life so much easier as long as you're diligent about saving. I'm through the first mission planet and it's started to pick up for me. Looks like I will be finishing this one.

I was offered the trade of a sealed Army of Two and a sealed Viva Pinata Party Animals (for the girlfriend) for my Mass Effect and PGR4. Seems like I'm on the short end of the stick.

Phantasy Star Universe is terrible with this. You can only save at save points which can be pretty spaced out and no pause function. I think they ditched pause because the 1P campaign is supposed to be a trainer for the MMO meat and potatoes and you can't pause a MMO.

I was 10 minutes or so in a session yesterday and figured I'd push on to one more save point before grabbing dinner. Ended up taking 30-40 minutes to hit that next save. :bomb:

Half Life 2 on the other hand lets you save at any time.

Been playing my way thru some more Final Fantasy VIII. Still thinking about picking up Crystal Chronicles DS this weekend, but after watching some videos of Ninja Gaiden DS, I may wait for that instead. :whistle2:k

It was funny hearing about the pirated version of FF: CC DS being unplayable to a certain degree. I wish more developers would figure out ways to stop piracy instead of just complaining about it.
That trade sucks Dave.

Don't Do it.
The only reason I was considering it is because no one wants PGR4. Like...no one. I wouldn't mind unloading it soon. I don't want to get stuck with it like I did Shadowrun.

Yeah, I hate that. Bioshock was good like that but having the girlfriend come over and telling her to wait while I get to a save point in Blue Dragon did not go over well. You can save in the world anytime, but in a dungeon, no dice.

You're a brave man for getting through some PSU. I played one mission (or episode or chapter or whatever) and sold it off.

Have a list? You can CML for wants, but I'm open to most things I haven't played.

Edit: Also, great news for N+ fans in the N+ thread in the 360 forum. There are some details on map packs to come out for 200 points a piece with a crazy amount of levels per. Great gamea nd I'm looking forward to more of it.

The gameplay is repetitive at times but the boss fights sort of break it up and the story is decent. Plus I love cheesemints. I play through a few save points at a time every couple days.

Left off last night upon getting confused and ending up back at the last save point after 15 minutes of wandering around. I'm hoping that was just a fluke.

That storyline gets pretty twisted, but at least there wasn't an excessive amount of grinding to do, and the real-time weapon switching was nice.

Even after more than a year since I last played PSU I still find the theme song pops into my head now and again.

"Who says we are lost again in this lonely world........"

Slow day today... :)

So how is everyone's day going by so far?

So far I have received a cease and desist letter of copyright infringement from a big Japanese publisher... so yea, things have been going well...

HOUSE OF THE DEAD!!!!

My day is boring. I'm just waiting for tomorrow so I can actually do shit again.

Let me guess, you wrote sometihng which involved woman getting molested on trains and they've copyrighted that already ?

A friend of mine convinced me to join his team in some MLG online bracket. I still have yet to find out what the prize is, but we demoralized 3 teams yesterday, and the last team we fought is disputing our win. Little do they know that we were recording our matches.

So, Valkyrie Profile DS? I haven't played any of the other VP games, but it looks as if Squeenix is really going after the DS market with every IP it can. I just wish the bastards would send Dragon Quest IV to us.
What game you be talking bout beef?

You playing that madden league shit?
Nah, talking 'bout dat Brawl, baby.

I enjoyed the first one on PS1. Is this a new game or a port/remake?

That would explain the suckatude of my uncle, then. Plays Madden like there ain't no tomorrow. Thing is, when he invites me to play, I accept and just pick the same play over and over again, and I win.

Nice strategies, EA, or whoever makes dem Madden ghaimez.

Madden would be good "IF" John Madden was playable, and you could dismember all the players.

John Maddens Combat Basketball Football.

So, this was weird.

I had a voice mail on my phone after class today:
"Hi, this is Michael from Microsoft. You've won an alternate prize in our Halo "Unite to Fight" contest. We need to confirm your address." They had our Michigan address so I called to fix that. I asked him what the prize was.

"100 Microsoft Points."

Why were they going to all this trouble to call me and confirm my physical address to send me $1.25 prize that they could've emailed to me?

I'd get it.

Are there any really violent sports games? That is the only way I'd play one. I know Blitz sorta is, but it doesn't seem violent enough. :p

Seems like an all new game. Subtitled "The Accused One". According to Kotaku:
Developed by Tri-Ace, the game is the first in the series to feature a male protagonist, a disgruntled soldier named Wilfred, who hates the Valkyries and is out for vengeance using a magical feather given to him by the queen of the underworld. Screens seem to indicate a combination of the traditional profile view as well as an isometric view similar to games like Final Fantasy Tactics, though at this point such details are more speculation than anything solid.

Base Wars FTW! Muther-fuckin robot baseball game! This needs a modern update. Now.

Sounds good.

Re: Violent sports game what about that Xbox game 'Deathrow' I think?

It would be cool to see more developers try to create a sport for a video game.

Base Wars was awesome. How can you not love a baseball game where you get to fight with laser swords?
Gryph Ball on Halo 3.

Great Times.
True. Good example of both a created sport and a violent sport.
