I just think its alot of bitching for something that is completely stupid.
This is the DLCage where game companies plan on having DLC coming out later to further get money out of you.
I agree.
But there is still a difference between worthwhile DLC--extra missions, chapters, songs for music games (if priced reasonably)--i.e. stuff that actually adds more gamplay and replay value. Versus completely useless DLC that was just shit that used to be in games from day 1.
Still too much bitching over it, rather than just not buying the DLC and voting with your wallet that such stuff won't sell and should be in the game from day 1.
I may take FFIII with me on vacation. I really won't be playing much, if at all, but my son will definitely need his Smart Kids game club and Crayola Treasures DS for the plane ride home.
I might have to also bring the GBA w/Little Einsteins for my daughter too.

Man, what a stupid interface they're using. Makes the song look soooooo much harder than it is. I really wish I could hook up the Beatmania controller to that game....

Also, TMK if you're getting rid of psp stuff let me know since I should be getting one next month. But, I understand if you don't want to ship things if its a hassle (I'd hopefully give you more cash then GS would credit)
I got rid of three PSP games at GS today, which leads me to a rant.
Start rant:
I ing swear when EB/Gamestop has a trade-in promotion, they ing lower the trade-in values. Last week (although it may just be a game with a higher value, I dunno know, but GS does charge the same price for the games used), I traded in Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded and got $7.70 after 10% Edge Bonus. I wasn't really complaining about that. I traded in three games which were $17.99 used today (one was Street Fighter Alpha 3: Max), and GS trade-in value credit for them was $5, and when adding up the 20% bonus and 10% Edge, I got back $6.50. ing Gametop. Seriously, when I've traded in other handheld games at random times (and other games), it DOES seem like I got more. I'm so ing pissed at GS right now. However, I wouldn't have got much more for them at CAG anyway (like maybe $2 more each after I take into account shipping, mailer, and paypal fees). However, at LEAST GS gave me $1.50 for Maximo vs. The Army of Zin, like I was expecting (before 10% bump).
End rant:
So, why do I still trade games in at GS? Well, that leads me to another rant I probably should admit, so I'll hide it under a spoiler.
While having my list up, I will admit I have some crap on PS1/DC, but it's really only there, just in case someone may be looking for something. In reality, I could careless if I sell some of it or not, just putting it up. Anyway, I'll get a ton of PMs from people asking me to "CML", which is basically check their tradelist for one of my good games. I take a look at their tradelist and it's filled with crappy sealed games which I constantly come across in Sears, Target, etc. clearances which I refuse to buy no matter how cheap they are. For someone who wants to get rid of games (and who might make a trade if something appealing comes around, you think I want to take on sealed games I could never get rid of?? Heck no. Or there will be those people with a massive tradelist (some good stuff and some crap), who only make trades for the sake of making trades, like bringing in a bunch of games, only to put them up for trading. I'm not taking on that stuff I don't care to play, and I feel constantly shipping stuff (with all that trading) is a waste of time and shipping money.
So, by trading into GS, I can get EXACTLY the game I want, don't have to deal with the possibility of being scammed (although very unlikely, getting scammed out of $60 worth of games still hurts me a bit now from DP), and it's just easier overall (just take games there and get credit, and GS is actually closer than the post office in my case).
All right, I have some news for the GGT. My Dad asked me last night if I'd be interested in a job using AutoCAD (although I haven't used it since 2002) and some other computer programs I know for the Summer. He said a friend of his (really good friend too) just told him about it and my Dad wanted to see if I was interested. I said possibly, and come to find out from my Dad, I basically have the job if I want it (since my Dad's friend really wants to give it to me over anyone else, I just have to have a short interview). The pay is pretty solid too (like $13-$14 in hour, but it would let me stay at home for now). I'm not really looking for my main job until late this summer (until I get some other things solid) and I badly need more work experience. I'm thinking I'll probably do this, but not 100% sure yet. Does it seem like something I should do?
Only bad things are:
-I have a few games preordered, and not really sure when I'll be picking them up (since I usually pick up games in the afternoon).
-I need to go to the DMV to get a new ID, since mine expires here soon, but now I wonder if I can get there in time, because I'll need a new ID by MGS4 release (because I KNOW they'll ask for it).
-I'm not sure whether or not if I'll be able to browse the internet at work, but it will be weird if I have to spend a lot time away from CAG (or forums in general), since I check way too much.
-And I hope I still have enough time to play some games (which I should in the evening) and handle CAG PSN Gaming duties.
CAG and gaming shouldn't affect your job decisions. You're done with school and less time for those things (and hobbies in general) is just an inevitable fact of entering the real world.
Sounds like a solid opportunity as far as summer jobs go (pay doesn't sound great but I'm not sure what's the norm for AutoCad work, cost of living in Indiana etc.). I'd say at least do the interview and see what you think of the place, your would be boss etc.

My last job only paid $6.25 an hour, and I didn't work much (It was $5.25 an hour before that).
I honestly don't need all that much money....dunno what I'd do what it. I'd mostly just save. I don't really need new gaming stuff.
Basically, this would be a starter job, until I get a full-time main job (which I hope to work for several years), where I may have to move somewhere (since there aren't many jobs in my area). And there are things I still need to take care of around home (which I mentioned in a certain off topic thread, I don't want it to be discussed in the GGT).
Ah yes. Tuesday. My second most notorious arch enemy next to Monday. I'll be victorious tomorrow.

I went there and got this urban music magazine, but it had a promotional insert in it for Digital Devil Saga

Definitely go for it in that case. $13-14 an hour is pretty good for a summer job when you don't have to worry about rent etc. Would be low for me as it's a good bit what I make still being in grad school and working in my department, but I also live in a high cost of living area and have rent etc. to deal with.
Save up for the end of summer when you need to move, pay a deposit on a new apartment (assuming you don't stay home longer than summer) when you find a real job somewhere else. Put the rest in savings. Time to enter the real world and learn how to manage money, get your priorities in order etc.

Actually, I just posted this in the OTT:
-Spend the Summer working near home, making $$$. Since I don't have to pay for bills, rent, food, etc., this will allow me to save more.
-Get some issues I have (that keep me behind in life) solved over the summer (some I explained at CAG, one I don't think I ever did).
-I should have most issues solved, and decent money in the bank.
-Towards the end, I'll have work experience, more $$$ on me, and will have an easier time getting a main full-time job (earning a good salary) which I hope to work for a long time. If I have to re-locate (very likely), it will be much easier due to having money to get started.
Unfortunately, gaming (and forum posting at CAG) might have to take more of a backseat, but it should all be worth it.
I also have ZERO debt right now, which is good, but then again, I do not have my own credit card. That's actually one of the issues (which I never really discussed with CAG) I have. Maybe during this time I can get one and build up some good credit.

It definitely will be worth it. And maybe it will help you get over your compulsion of buying vastly more games than you'll ever have time to play.

A decent idea....as long as you're sure you can be responsible and pay it off in full each month. I've been doing that for years. Easy way to build credit history, and less risky than taking a debit card everywhere in case of robbery, lost wallet etc. as it's more hassle to get money put back in your checking than to get fraudulent charges wiped off a credit card account.
The popularity of Wii Fit with Nintendo fans still boggles my mind. If my favorite game company started making fitness equipment, I'd tell them to go themselves.
I'm with you on that one.
Same here, that was a part of the reason I ditched the Wii. I just didn't like the direction they were headed and didn't really want to support it. That combined with getting a bit tired of the first party franchises and seeing little to nothing from third parties that piqued my interest.
I'm not a fan of when he starts to lose his voice cause he tries to really play it up. He pronounces things super long and drawn out in a real gutteral way.
And yeah, that kind of annoyed me too that he dissed on that new Banjo mechanic. He'd be doing the same thing if it were another straight up platformer so there's nothing it could've done to win.
I also didn't care for the fact that he straight up shat on Battle Forge too. That game seems interesting and I'm not even a pc gamer nor a card battle person.
Take the job. It's a nice short-term opportunity with solid pay while you seek a better long-term position, which is much more important than any games you want to play for the next couple months.
On a related note, I'm doing tutoring/reviewing for GRE preparation with underrepresented students for the first half of summer while finishing the last bits of my thesis work (and turning it into a paper for hopeful journal submission!), and starting my fixed-term university teaching position at the end of August.
Oh yeah, that reminds me, just my biggest obstacle right now on taking the job is, I gotta do an interview regardless, and I never had a job interview in my entire life. Not really sure what to do, but I'll research (and wear).
As for Banjo, I'm kind of interested. My sister LOVED the series. I kind of liked it, but not a big fan. New concept does seem more interesting, but I'm not much of a Rare fan since after Killer Instinct Gold (which has me unsure, since I was into Killer Instinct games, but not really anything since then).
EDIT:

Professors want me to go back to school and be a Grad TA for the department, but I'm not really sure yet. I'm kind of getting sick of school (I'm almost 26 years old and have been going for over 20 years). But I'll probably move to a long-term job.

Interviews are easy, you're just selling yourself to the company. A good suit will do just fine. I believe you want to go for a dark gray suit and white shirt. Just try to stay away from a red tie, that's usually a sign of power. The job will be a good start for building a resume and possible networking.
I apologize to everyone for starting that ManaRant up there about game trading, since I know how much you all love his long posts!
On a serious note, sounds like a nice gig to me with that job. More money is good money, so I don't see a reason not to take it. Unless, you really need a lot of time to take care of personal stuff (Who actually motivates themselves to take care of business anyway? We all just waste our time playing games, right? RIGHT?!?!?)

More No More Heroes for me now!
Don't worry, because the GS rant was coming up regardless, because I was really upset just as I got home. And the rant about trading at CAG was going to get mentioned soon or later (I had a discussion about it with someone on AIM earlier today).
Well, let's just say I have a few times to take care of right now, but do I do them? Nope, I just play games and post on CAG. I have no motivation to do the stuff I really should. (
Played some Sega Rally Revo earlier. The game gets hard pretty quick. Afterwards, played the Battle Fantasia demo again (love it too much).

I think black is a little morbid, but I also think that the color of a suit is overrated anyway. I wore a suit that was really loose fitting on me but people thought it looked good... so whaaaatever.
I suggest you dress up anyway. Don't take anything for granted. I've had several interviews that were "guaranteed" that fell apart in the end.

Ugh. I just checked the SingStore and there are tons of songs I'm interested in. Its crazy.
Is the FPS craze dying off? Please? It seems like since Doom hit it big, that's been the vast majority of all games. That, and collect-a-thons on the PS1/N64.
