But! They said that they would have Ninja Gaiden II tomorrow at like 2:00 or 3:00, so I'm fuckin' stoked. Preordered it and can't wait for that shit. Obviously, I haven't finished Mass Erect yet, but can't hurt to play two games at once, right?
Not saying they won't have it (the manager might be picking it up himself), but take that with a grain of salt. Since it's not set to ship until tomorrow.

I want Ninja Gaiden!

Brave Story is one of the worst games I've ever played! Avoid it at all costs, unless you're mana knight and like that children's story with teenagers crap.

Since I recently bought a gba micro, I've been in a really big gba mood lately, so that's been the extent of my playing, atleast until my ds arrives back from nintendo.

Got MHF2 from gamestop this morning for $20 and I also picked up Metal Walker for the GBC for $4. Not a bad morning. Picking up NG2 and Hot Shots open tee 2 in the next few days.

I can see how people might enjoy it, maybe..

but it was one of the most boring experiences i've had since legend of dragoon.

Talk about a game that makes absolutely zero effort at trying anything new..
Seriously? While the story was a bit juvenile, I still found the game to be quite enjoyable as did most people who played it: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146864
I thought Brave Story was awesome personally. Love the characters, storyline, battle system, soundtrack, and so on. One of my favorite PSP RPGs personally. I was extremely hyped for the game (some may remember this last year, and how I went crazy when the game got an announcement for stateside release) and wasn't one bit disappointed. I could feel some emotion during some story sequences.

so am i the only who hated Brave Story but loved Legend of Dragoon?

debating to get NG2 since there will be a rerelease later (well most likely)

So, if someone wants to play MGS4 around the time it hits but maybe doesn't think he'll have time / want to play through MGS2 & 3, what would be the best way to bridge the story gap between 1 and 4? The Retrospectives? Reading some cock-a-mammy summary? Just wait until one can play 2 and 3 first?

Really, I'm just looking forward to playing the game with a better control scheme. Two was causing me problems right from the get-go.

Played some more missions in Crisis Core today at my lunch break. Got some accessory that prevents poison and silence. Golden. I think this week while at work I'm going to try to polish that one off. I think I'm on chapter 8 of 11.

Contra 4, NG2, and Lego Indiana Jones this week! Excited! :D

I'll get NG2, but not for a while (my interest went up when I heard Itagaki made it easier, since I'm not really hardcore into Ninja/Samurai action games with swords).

Naw, the manager specifically said that ordinarily, they'd have it Wednesday, but he's got a guy going to pick it up ASAP so that's why.
I hate gutted GS copies of games.

Also, do retail copies of LPC on PC use Steam? LP did, so I figured LPC might as well.
I've heard that Lost Planet Colonies doesn't use Steam.

Oh yeah, and my copy of Beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD shipped!!!! YES! EXCITE

I guess that my copy of Nights: Into Dreams shipped with it. That should hopefully be cool.

And Apossum tempted me to get Diablo II... I'm trying to resist.

I've gotten really good at Beatmania just over this last weekend. I'm at the point where I can finish a lot of the level 9 songs and almost all of the level 8 songs. I don't play the game non-stop or anything... I just have 3 or 4 days where I play it on the side, so that's prolly not the quickest way to get good...

But man, it's weird watching people play and struggle with Guitar Hero now... my definition of difficult has changed to:

wow... I think I like the nyko perfect shot more than I thought. I need to get another. I'll probably be ordering links crossbow training from gamedealdaily.com since it's so damn cheep and I don't want a wii zapper.

oh, and House of the Dead really takes me back to when arcade games were in a good transition... ie Naomi arcade boards and such.

How long is the Metal Gear Solid Essentials Collection? I have never played a MGS game but owning a PS3 and all I figured it is time to get started. ;) I plan on picking up the Collection within a couple weeks and hopefully by the time I'm done with it I will have found a good discount/glitch/etc. way to get MGS4 for cheap.

1st time through, MGS1 should probably take 8-10 hours, MGS2 should take 11-13 hours, and MGS3 should take 13-16 hours. If memory serves, that is.

The retrospectives on Gametrailers are really well done. They're more in-depth than I thought they'd be.

I'm currently playing through the games in anticipation of 4.

i need to pick up the essential collection
only time ive ever really paid attention to mgs was when i watched my cousin play through mgs2

Ugh, the EB near where we're staying is staffed by morons. Four guys behind the counter doing inventory and two of us waiting patiently in front of them--no acknowledgement of the customers whatsoever. They were quick to help their fellow co-worker (apparently on their day off) who walked in at the same time as me, though. Eventually one of the guys asked me if I needed help (in a way that sounded like I was interrupting him) and I did ask for Brave Story and Sega Tennis Wii, but they only had gutted copies and that was the last straw. I'll just buy that shit when I get back home.

Man I can't believe how many people are saying all the games for the gamedays sale are gutted, the GS I frequent had ALL sealed copies in the bins, and a good stock too.

Depends on the store. If the store is a high impact store, or a really busy one, they were told to gut the games before putting them in the bin.

The store I go to is like 3rd in the state (Texas) for over all sales/trade ins/subs and one of the top in the U.S....... They're pretty high traffic.

watching the retrospective and catching the tail end of todays really makes me dream of more metal gear acids... MGA2 was so damn good and the story was very damn good, especially if you played the first.

Which EB Games is this? What area are you in again?

There's a pretty high chance a number of managers ignored the order because they don't like to gut games. Especially since it's a lot of work to gut them all. A project that you would have to have someone work on all day. Not to mention maybe that district or region wasn't given that order.

It's most likely they just didn't want to do it. I know the assistant manager that works there (he was the manager for the GS in the mall I work in and transferred). It's funny because the DM was there this morning doing a run down of their store. They make a crazy good profit though, the assistant manager is making almost $20 an hour compared to making roughly $15 as a manager at the mall's gamestop.
Man I can't believe how many people are saying all the games for the gamedays sale are gutted, the GS I frequent had ALL sealed copies in the bins, and a good stock too.
Mine was a mixture of both last year. Some games were gutted, some were not. Some were gutted, but shrink wrapped. My GS locations are known to gut several copies of games.
Crisis Core is pretty fun :D
Yea it is. I've been playing alot of it since last thursday when I got it. I didn't expect it to be nearly this good.

Yea, I actually was hoping this game would be very good and I've been pretty happy so far. DMW still bugs me a bit but I've grown used to it...
Can't wait! Since I'll have the game by then...
yeah, well, I'll be playing the game by then too. The "your mom" game, that is! oh burjn

Rei, any info on that MGS4 artbook? Wondering what my chances are of actually finding one instore, because I'm sure the one I ordered on GS.com will come without an artbook :bomb:

Apollo J. is good shit.

Edit: Went to an electronics store for audio and they tried to sell me a $600 set of Paradigm speakers. It was either that or Definitive, or KEF, or some other brands I've never heard of. He also really wanted to sell me everything Yamaha.

Japanese demo of NGII is unlocked, if any of you have jp accounts. downloading now. :))))))
Inf^Shini, you have good taste, and by good taste I mean golden boy.
Haha, thanks, I do what I can ;)

Paradigm's pretty good when you're looking at their Reference line of speakers, but those are overpriced, honestly. The $600 ones aren't any good at all. Definitive and KEF are like... mega-overpriced and super-weak.

Yea, I hate when the DMW ends up giving you a limit break against an enemy that you could just kill easily with normal attacks. It just seems so random at times.

Yea that seems to happen sometimes, but I just started playing again and realized what's more annoying.

"Activating Combat Mode!" --- "Conflict Resolved"

Rinse and repeat and now I'm wishing they made the battles flow like Kingdom Hearts, not stop and go with that ladies voice :/

Oh well, at least that's the only thing that bugs me, the actual fighting is pretty fun and the CG's are VERY awesome to watch :D
