Ghost Rider
Only thing I can really see wrong with it, is the fact that it's Nicholas Cage doing it. Last time I thought that the comic book character had red hair?
There's this new thing called hair dye. ;)

Not to mention that Johnny Blaze's hair color is irrelevent to the character development and storyline.

Give it up. We all know that CarrotTop was born to play this role.

Well of course, but I just can't connect johnny blaze with Nicholas Cage, even if they had red hair.

Yeah but I'm sure everyone would have a hissy-fit if Superman were blonde in the next movie. Why fuck with something that isn't broken? I was pissed the human torch wasn't blonde in The Fantastic four movie. There's just no reason for it.

Yeah, the worst part about this movie is the fact that Nicolas Cage has the starring role. That guy can't act his way out of a wet paperbag.

I will always be a fan of the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider. :)

I've never understood why this seems to be the popular belief. I couldn't disagree more.

While that may be true, as Superman, the character, depends entirely on his look -- specifically that he doesn't wear a mask -- the fact is that Ghostrider doesn't depend on his "alter-ego" having red hair. It isn't a cruch to the character or storyline.

By no means did Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne look like the Bruce Wayne of the comics... yet his acting absolutely outweighed those superficial elements.

After that movie where Nicolas Cage was a prisoner on that airplane that got hijacked, I then realized that Kevin Costner was a much, much better actor. And that's really sad.

He was obsessed with Ghost Rider and kept talking about wanting to play that role for at least 5 years now, much to my dismay.

Seems like he paid off the right people then.

I seem to remember Cage having a huge-ass comic collection, and Lisa Marie Presley got really annoyed by it.
Is it me or does the CG look really bad?
I think it looks pretty good as a start, but remember this comes out in Feb. 2007
I'm not much of a Cage fan either. Raising Arizona and Leaving Las Vegas were his only good performances in my eyes.
Matchstick Men he was excellent in, Windtalkers he was quite good in and 8MM he was superb in.

He has the quirky little freakout characters down pat, but it seems that he just can't be menacing enough for me to qualify for the "Spirit of Vengence".

This movie has been delayed Feb 2007 which is a bad sign because the month of January and Feb are the months that the studios tend to release all their crappy movies.

I heard that too - I'm sure this movie is going to suck (like 99% of all movies)

Agreed.

I understand your point. But if it's such a simple thing to do (dye someone's hair), why not just do it if only to appease all of the whiny fanboys out there like myself? ;)

I think even though he has the name is Johnny Blaze, they are combining the original Ghost Rider and the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider. If you recall, Johny Blaze was not the Spirit of Vengence. Danny Ketch had dark hair. The Gghost Rider here looks like Ghost Rider II (Danny Ketch), with the leather jacket etc.

The first teaser trailer did nothing for me. The second teaser made me feel this is going to be Fanastic Four type crap with just a lot of one liners.

That's what I thought. It's been years since I read the 90's Ghost Rider, so I couldn't remember all the details clearly anymore. But I think the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider WAS the Spirit of Vengance, not the Jonny Blaze Ghost Rider. As I recall, JBGR was a demon, whereas DKGR was more of a manifestation of innocent victims seeking vengance.
