Ghost Squad - Gen. Discussion & Info
My buddy got 12 bucks in January. I've been searching for a deal on it, but he might just sell me his when he and his gf are done with it.

I picked up Resident Evil: UC for less then 40 in order to kill the time. I just want a rail shooter.
Check out MOH:H2. There's a nice, long rail shooter included as a bonus. ;)

BTW, so far, I like Ghost Squad better than RE:UC as well.I will spend more time on RE and hopefully warm up to it.
I play this with a buddy and the two zappers i have, great fun. I think the leveling tkes too long tough.
The same buddy that got it for 12 the other month hates that about it. We played through about 3 rounds in one sitting and he didn't level up once. He was pissed because if you go through the 30 minutes of gaming and don't get one reward it feels pretty hollow, but to go through about an hour or more and not get anything it just plain sucks.

I ended up snagging this for under $20 not too long ago. And I have to agree, it's hella fun and has something working for it that makes me want to pop it in again and play it all over again.

Haven't played it with a pal, though. I should really try that out sometime.

I love this, play it a lot, recommend it a lot and still wouldn't advise paying more than $20 total for it. It will drop soon enough and didn't require a lot of effort on SEGA's part. There is nice attention to detail, but somehow the execution of the upgrading could have been better.
At the mission levels I'm at, though, I cannot take all the useless pistols you unlock each for their own test drive, unfortunately
You know you can cycle through the mission levels that you've unlocked, 1-whatever, for each chapter before you start it, right?

Oh, I could, but then I wouldn't unlock even higher mission levels.

I love this f'n game. Which is better, Umbrella Chronicles or Ghost Squad (haven't played Umbrella yet)? Is the House of the Dead stuff coming soon supposed to be better than this one?

Man, this is kind of annoying. The game refuses to save my calibration settings. Is it like this for everybody else too? Every time I start up the game, the calibration is reset and I have to do it over again before I start playing to have accurate aiming. The game has no problem saving any other option changes, high scores, unlockables, etc. Just the aiming calibration setting.

While the House of the Dead games are considerably short, it'll be a lot longer than Ghost Squad. Assuming that HOD2 has the same customizable stuff as the Dreamcast version and HOD3 has a similar option as well, it'll be better and meatier than Ghost Squad.

RE:UC is fun, less arcadey and more challenging.

Any opinions on the Zapper with this game? I long for an assault rifle to hold in my hands as I'm running through this, so I'm not sure something like the Perfect Shot would be enough.

It works, but I prefer the PS for this one. I like the Zapper better for things that require precision, like Crossbow Training. Ghost Squad is pretty forgiving with the aim, so I like the free feel of the PS a little better. They both make for different experiences, and there are a lot of different guns in Ghost Squad, so if you think you'd like it you probably would with the Zapper.

ARGH! NOT ME!!!! (I've wanted it since release, but not at $30, when all those Targets were selling returned copies from online at around $12 - No luck. It just isn't worth $30).

I got mine from that amazon deal recently. Nevere played it in the arcade, but its fun. I like getting to change shots and the powerups.

Got mine from Goozex. It's damn fun, I love all the unlockables; but my girlfriend is horribly addicted and I'm getting a little sick of it. Time to pick up HotD and Umbrella Chronicles, I guess.

Just a heads up.

I was at Target today and saw a copy of this without a price label underneath it. I took it to the scanner and it said something like "game info not found". I took it up to the register and they gave it to me for $9.99

That was the only target I went to so Im not sure if it will say it at all of them. It was the normal barcode on the back of the box that said this, so it might be worth a shot if you don't have it yet.

Wow, I can't believe that glitch is still out there!

Didn't know this was a known thing, so yes it happened to me today.

Yeah, Target never officially got the game, yet somehow stores received them. I heard it was something about online returns, but that didn't really make sense. Anyway, it was not in the system then and it sounds like it is still not in their system.
Target officially got the game. There are dozens in my area (Western NY) that are listed at $30.
Store to store, it will vary whether the game is in the system/if the store ever got it at all.

Little help...

How do I get 100% in the Air Force One and Jungle Areas? Im at level 12 on both but theyre stuck at 92% complete! The first level (that log cabin) is completely clear.

So what do I need to do? Im getting tired of playing this game over and over.
Wow all these gamers and no ones gotten this far to help out?

I must be the best damn ghost squad shooter in the world!
You are! Congratulations! I've put many, many hours into this (alone and with friends over) and haven't gotten 100% on anything.

I got 100% on all stages a while back; I took a picture of the 2nd and 3rd area (got to lvl 16 on the stages): http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e227/Renald03/?action=view&current=DSCI0088.jpg (2nd stage) and http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e227/Renald03/?action=view&current=DSCI0089.jpg (3rd stage).

Did you unlock/clear all of the ones in the pic? Maybe you just need to level up in the stages a bit to fill in the rest of the percentage..if I recall correctly, you get new objectives that gets unlocked at certain lvls. Good luck on your quest!

It saves after you complete the run through of all 3 levels (If I'm not mistaken). It takes about 25-30 minutes to run through it once though so it isn't all that time consuming.

That's my understanding, but I only played the game for a few hours at my buddies. Hopefully someone on here that has the game can tell you better than I can.
So after you beat all 3 missions, do you have to complete all 3 again for the next save?
i think i read somewhere that if you just die and let the continue timer run out, it'll save. you should try that and let us know.

SAVING GAME

Ok like everyone said either beat ALL 3 missions to save, or let the continue run out.

If you fail a mission, it won't save.

Finally got this for $20 at TRU the other day, and I'm definitely enjoying it. Just a few questions and observations:

1. Is it me, or is this game more fun to play in short sessions? I went through the three missions twice last night, and by the end of the second go-around it felt a little repetitive. Maybe it's because I failed the first time around and couldn't start at a higher level, but I think this is more of a play-for-30-minutes-then-play-something-else game (not that I'm complaining).

2. How many levels/ranks are there? The first time I went through, I was surprised that I got 4 ranks already (despite my crappy playing). I hope I don't max out too soon.

3. In the heat of the game, I notice that sometimes when I try to reload, it doesn't seem to register (no ammo clip reloaded, no sound from the Wii remote's speaker). Am I doing something wrong, or is there a bonus item that makes reloading superfluous that I acquired?

1. It definitely is a blast in bursts, but, hell, when I first got it, I played through it about three times in one session.
2. You rank up to 50 or 99... I don't remember, and rank ups come a LOT slower as you get up there. You won't max out before you reach the level difficulty caps of 16 though.
3. The high-cap magazine will wear out but will still leave you with more bullets in the clip than you can use. If you reload often, you might get stuck with an oversized clip for a few shots before you can reload again.

My damn TRU didn't have any copies. Also, I went online expecting free shipping, 4.50 for shipping and then they would add on tax during checkout. So $20 = close to 26 or 27 when it's all said and done.

I've wanted this game forever, but could never justify spending 30 on it. Ebay's go for around 20-25 and I'm just fed up with looking.

Did get HoD2&3 today though so that'll ease the pain for awhile.
