If u play it back a couple of times u can tell that it's a person (IMO). Better video resolution would help.

That guy at the bottom scared me. I was looking for a ghostly image in the pictures and I was half expecting to get nervous, and I scrolled down fast and that guy popped out. I scare way too easily, that's why I don't watch horror movies. My imagination is way too strong.

Though I loved ninth gate.

Then when Balkan crashes the dark mass, does something fairly evil, and yells "Boo!" it scares all the participants away (ironic...)

The book makes the parody more clear, but scene after scene in the movie also drive the point home.
