GI Joe & Transformers Complete TV Series DVD $93.99 & $86.99 @Amazon.com

Yeah, they fucked me over with a Toshiba laptop I ordered around Black Friday at an awesome price. Order all of a sudden became delayed and "will not arrive until after December 25th", I was like WTF?

Then, they just up and cancelled the order, claiming their manufacturer/parts supplier wasn't making any more of that model.

I immediately went back on the site and search for the same laptop model, and it's back in stock, only $100 more! So you bet your ass I called them posthaste and asked them if they were serious with that bullshit move. Of course, their customer service being what it is, they apologized profusely and gave me a $100 credit on my order of the "new" laptop, plus a $50 credit for my trouble, which was nice.

However, that was a Christmas gift...THIS is for me personally. And they damn well better not pull that shit here, because these are for ME, damn it, and unlike that laptop, there's little to no chance of ever seeing another printing of these.

EDIT:

BTW, just to remind everyone of the epic badassery of the Transformers, since someone else already posted the epic badassery of GIJoe:

Funny that the animated movie, as old as it is, is still 10x better than the live action ones. At least there is an actual story to follow.

I received mine yesterday evening, and the quality of the sets is top notch. Shout Factory outdid themselves. Any worries of buyer's remorse were gone the instant I laid eyes on them. Good luck to those waiting for them to ship!

Well, at least we have a back up plan if amazon falls through. Now I just have to decide if I'm going to sell the Rhino prints I have of these.

Bervda, I see you ordered these early on the morning of the 25th. I waffled too long, along with others it seems...hopefully though it will still work out for the best for us.

EDIT: Mine now says "Shipping Soon -we are preparing your items for shipment"...I'm so hopeful. And in an hour I'm going to go pick up the Batman Animated Series complete collection for $60, very happy about that too...

My transformers set that kept getting pushed back 1 more day finally is in "shipping soon" also. Got the GI Joe set today. Heavy duty box.

Yeah, I normally get all wishy washy until I miss out. Glad that I didn't this time.

It would seem, however, that these things are starting to ship for you guys. That's awesome!

Well, I still have my fingers crossed because it went from "Shipping Soon" back to "Not Yet Shipped" and now back again to "Shipping Soon", FLOL. It does say though that it will ship February 1-2, so I have a couple more days before the panic truly sets in.

At least I can watch the complete Batman Animated series now while I wait...

Same here, I had separate orders, but they combined both into a single FedEx shipment. Will probably receive on Wednesday.
man, i hate this site. more money everyday gone from my account, damn you damn you all!
Darn this site! I pulled the trigger on both

i should stop visiting this site - CAG sucks all my money away! LOL.

Man... want the TF set.... out of funds for the mean time... Man... [Looks at Batman TAS set on my shelf with sad face...] hopefully I'll pick this set up before it goes completely OOP

Still too rich for my blood. I'd prefer to go without any special packaging and work the price points from there. I have that bulky D&D box, and few years later it comes out in an inexpensive standard casing.

If I had my way, I'd encode all animated shows at 480p on blu-ray to cut down # of discs.

Still tempting, but it's been an expensive holiday season (with many follow-up deals) and this still feels premium. If they never come back in print, it's Shout's lost sale.

WOOTS mine shipped. Apprehension...subsiding. Fear...dissipating.

Only 10 times better? I was thinking at the very least a factor/magnitude of 100.

And shipped Fedex? Man, I always get it shipped USPS as of late.

Watched the first 3 discs (the original 3 mini-series) of GIJoe this past weekend...wow how the memories came back, but I was really surprised at the things I didn't remember. I haven't seen the majority of these since they aired in the early 80's. The first 2 mini's were really good, but the third one (Pyramid of Darkness) was more of a spoof in some scenes (Polly and Timber, I'm looking at you!).

- Fatal Fluffies??? WTF? At least we know where the Furby design came from.

- I didn't have the slightest idea Shipwreck sounded like Jack Nicholson, I didn't know who JN was when these originally aired as I was 6 or 7.

- Snake-Eyes dressed like Boy George??? LOL

- I didn't remember Quick Kick's commercial or Alpine's yodel until those scenes came up, then some locked door in my memory opened and I was able to recite them word for word.

I'm definitely enjoying these, and watching them again from an older perspective is hilarious. I keep thinking "This is what my dad must have thought when he saw me watching these!"

Don't forget my favorite:

Bazokka saw a sea serpent!

Yeah, I didn't remember Bazooka being such a "frittata" in the original show. Guess that's why
the writers killed him
in G.I. Joe Resolute.

The first time I rewatched some GI Joe episodes, I didn't realize how many offbeat "adult" jokes and downright ridiculous situations were thrown in here and there. Makes it even more fun to watch. Must have missed them as a kid.

Well, the good news is my family got me these for my birthday. The bad news is they aren't expected to arrive until maybe the 16th. But I'm looking forward to the set all the same. ;)

tell me about it....at least i was able to pick up both sets from walmart during their 20% bing cashback earlier today.
greggysasaki - where did you get that Omega Supreme icon? Maybe there's one of Soundwave
no...i don't think so.

Finally got mine a couple of days ago, and the sets look amazing. I haven't even opened them up yet, since I've decided to keep them sealed and use my Rhino prints as my default viewing copies.

That said, does anyone happen to know if the Shout! Factory releases of GI Joe Seasons 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 have the exact same episodes as Rhino's Real American Hero/Revenge of Cobra set and Season 1.1 and 1.2 (which I own - I do not however have Rhino Season 2.1)?

Because I'm planning on buying the Shout! Factory release of Season 2 when it gets released, but I don't want to be missing any episodes. I can't find any episode lists of the Shout! Factory releases other than 1.1

I always open all dvds I get. A lot of times, there's scratched discs that I want replaced depending on the severity. Also, sometimes they f up and put two discs 1 but no disc 2, for example. Check everything.

I hear you, but I want to keep these sealed since I already have the complete Transformers Rhino set including the first release of the movie. I just need to get season 2 of GI Joe when the Shout! Factory release comes out in April, as well as the original release or hopefully re-release of the movie.

Sooo, these errors in "Ultimate Doom," have they been fixed in the 25th anniversary DVDs? Not just the absence of Prime's gun and Wheeljack at the end, but the TWO Thundercrackers flying away (Geez, how could Rhino make such a stupid mistake replacing Skywarp with another Thundercracker?!)

Good lord, after seeing some of the other TV VS Rhino comparisons, I'm really hoping Shout Factory fixed everything. Man alive, how difficult is it to distinguish red from yellow (Cliffjumper and Bumblebee) or the color differences between Starscream and the other planes. I remember there were some actual animation errors when they were originally broadcast, but damn, did a color-blind monkey do the Rhino transfers?

Ok rant mode is now off

A lot of the errors were Rhino's fault but there were a lot of errors they had nothing to do with as well. Transformers, and cartoons in the 80s in general, were very sloppy so those kind of errors aren't all that uncommon.
Just a reminder about the dvd replacement for Transformers:

At the end of ultimate doom part 3 if prime's weapon is missing you have the old disc :
I thought all of the "matrix" box sets already contained the newer disc.

Last I checked, the item was on backorder by 1-3 weeks. People might have complained that it was taking too long for them to ship.
