EDIT: yes appears price was bumped up for all but S4. BTW, S5 is released tomorrow); so now S1 & S3 are 39.96, S2 is 44.99.

All of them appear to have had the prices raised, with the exception of s4. Luckily for me, s4 is the one I wanted, as my SO and I just finished watching s3 last night. There will probably be a better deal eventually (the first three, we got during the Costco sale earlier this year), but I didn't want to wait, and this will give us time to wait for a deal on s5.

I didn't expect to like the show at all (I never watched it over broadcast until this season, after I had already started watching the DVDs), but I was hooked as soon as I started. The dialog is really quite good, for the most part, the characters are entertaining (and mostly likeable), the acting is excellent, and I love the cultural references (there is one in particular that I find much more amusing than I should. In season 2, episode 10, Lane mentions that she is trying to convince her mother not to attend a dinner, and when asked how much success she has had with the convincing, she responds (sarcastically) "How are things going with that Pixies reunion?" I laughed loudly, and had to explain to my SO that the Pixies breakup was particularly tumultuous, and, at the time that the episode aired, it didn't seem like there was any chance they'd get back together, but that the Pixies did recently reunite (hooray, btw)). The only thing that really bothers me about the show are the many occurances of characters of good breeding, extremely high intelligence, and excellent education using terrible grammar. Every time I notice it, it makes me cringe a little, especially when it is the grandparents (one expects the younger generations to lapse a bit).

Anyway, I know that a lot of people dismiss the show without having seen it, but we like it a lot. Thanks for the deal.

One DVDTalk user reported finding s1-4 for $23.48 each at Sam's (he did not post the location). I don't have a Sam's membership, and I only needed one of the sets, so the Amazon deal worked out pretty well for me, but it may be worth a look for people who want more than s4.

s1-3 had been $29.99 at Amazon since October, but they just raised the prices, as I mentioned in my first post. Hopefully they will drop them again.

BJs Warehouse Club thingie has the first 3 seasons for $25 each. Pissed my mom off because she bought season 3 a few weeks bacl for $10 more.

BTW- Guys... it's ok if you like Gilmore Girls. It does not make you gay. Just make you seem gay. :p
