I used to see Gitaroo Man ALL THE TIME. Never really gave it a thought, I assumed it was just some Pa-Rappa ripoff. Then my friend bought the game and tried it at my house, and I was TOTALLY into it. I told myself I'd buy my own copy the next time I saw it.
WELL, it turns out that the game suddenly vanished off shelves everywhere as soon as I got into it. Most CAGs know the deal; it's not uncommon to find Gitaroo's going for $80 or more on eBay these days. So I figured I was out of luck, but I always held out on the slim hope that I would stumble on it someday, maybe in some out-of-the-way store or something.
So the other day I'm at an EB, I wasn't even planning on going there originally but I ended up being in the area. I checked a couple of things and was basically on my way out the door, but then I figured.... what the heck, I'll take a quick look over in the 'G' section of PS2 games. And BOOYAA, there it was! Disc and manual only, but it wasn't a problem really--packaging wasn't really a concern as I just wanted to PLAY the damn thing. The $40 price tag was slightly painful for a CAG, but I knew I wouldn't get a chance like that again. Besides, I ended up spending just over $100 total on pre-owned games, so I've got a $25 gift voucher coming my way.
So IN A ROUNDABOUT WAY, considering the Edge Card discount and the voucher.... I end up getting Gitaroo Man for $11!!! Yeah, $40, minus $4 Edge Card Discount minus $25 gift voucher. I'm kind of rationalizing it but I am very happy with the way things went.
