I used to see Gitaroo Man ALL THE TIME. Never really gave it a thought, I assumed it was just some Pa-Rappa ripoff. Then my friend bought the game and tried it at my house, and I was TOTALLY into it. I told myself I'd buy my own copy the next time I saw it.

WELL, it turns out that the game suddenly vanished off shelves everywhere as soon as I got into it. Most CAGs know the deal; it's not uncommon to find Gitaroo's going for $80 or more on eBay these days. So I figured I was out of luck, but I always held out on the slim hope that I would stumble on it someday, maybe in some out-of-the-way store or something.

So the other day I'm at an EB, I wasn't even planning on going there originally but I ended up being in the area. I checked a couple of things and was basically on my way out the door, but then I figured.... what the heck, I'll take a quick look over in the 'G' section of PS2 games. And BOOYAA, there it was! Disc and manual only, but it wasn't a problem really--packaging wasn't really a concern as I just wanted to PLAY the damn thing. The $40 price tag was slightly painful for a CAG, but I knew I wouldn't get a chance like that again. Besides, I ended up spending just over $100 total on pre-owned games, so I've got a $25 gift voucher coming my way.

So IN A ROUNDABOUT WAY, considering the Edge Card discount and the voucher.... I end up getting Gitaroo Man for $11!!! Yeah, $40, minus $4 Edge Card Discount minus $25 gift voucher. I'm kind of rationalizing it but I am very happy with the way things went.

Awesome, that's how I felt when I got Mad Maestro. Even though it's not that rare, it's a really fun game.

Still can't believe I picked this game up sealed at CC last July for a mere $5. I would have gladly paid much more.
damn, I found it complete for $35 just last week at EB. I win :)
lol i got it practically new last year for 8 bucks from some video store that was going out of business. the manager told me only 1 person rented it. also got ddr ultramix 1 for xb for 8 at the same place.

That CC sale brings a tear to my eye . . . I didn't get Gitaroo Man, but I did buy or trade for about 35 other games. It really set a standard for Cheapassness.

I traded in a bunch of those games (mostly ones I was done with) at EB for $13.33 each with the recent PSP game promo . . .

That CC sale just keeps on giving.

Video Stores can be great like that. :whistle2:D

Y'know Gamestop.com raised the price on this game recently and that usually only happens when a backordered game comes back in stock.

I wonder if that deal slipped by CAG?
the normal mode's insane for me. i got my ass kicked by this game.
I suck at it too, but it is still a lot of fun. I never found it during the CC deal, but I lucked out and found it at both GS and GC for under $20 (the last one I found at GC was not too long ago).
