I personally will not emigrate... I enjoy the Diabolos server too much. Plus the new servers may become a safe haven for the "ass holes" in the game. But the idea of under camped NMs does sound appealing... just my luck isn't up to par.

Nevermind, I just looked in my manual found out what to do. I'll join the Diabolos server soon.

Do I just delete my other character when I create this new one?

My roommate just got FFXI and has joined the Diabolos server, too. His character name is Fruitloop and he's in San D'Oria, too. So, if you see him around say hey and tell him I sent you.
 
Heh this was more of a FFXI info, but guess it can just be changed to FFXI period. Been a while since I last posted. That game has taken over...that and weekends time to hang out with friends. Hey Crash, thanks for joining us yesterday in the Lvl 1 Naked Race from Sandy to Windy. Nice to do something else for a change.

Anyways see you Diabolos guys in the game as always.

I've been thinking about buying FFXI with the hard drive. I love the other Final Fantasies and really like leveling and what not. Is it a good buy for me and worth getting? What is the monthly fee again? Should I buy a used FFXI and HD or do those not work? Thanks in advance, and I'd appreciate any tips for a beginner, too.

I warn you, it is unlike every other FF game you've ever played. Unless you are the least bit familiar with MMO games and their style of play, I wouldn't reccomend you try it. The fee is $13 a month, and you get a month of free play when you purchase it. Don't bother buying a used one, as I don't believe the account can be reactivated. GameFAQs (yes, I know) has quite a few class guides that can help give you an idea of what you'd like to play.
 
Yes, definitely not like your other FF games. You will see the staple things like Summons, Chocobos, Moogles, Cid, but it's not your regular FF.

LVLing IS repetetive! I mean for the love of all that is holy...if we are gonna fight crabs again at least make them another color or give them markings. I hate to lvl, but I do cause the higher I am, the more I can help others with what I learn.

The armor...well the armor also suffers from look-a-lities. Same Tunic, different stats. Only a few armor looks different enough (Thankfully I have my I.M. armor that makes me look sweet pimpin'). Though some of it is for show, you will be striving to get your Artifact Armor which is known mostly as AF for your job.

Many areas, quests, missions. Of course to access some you need fame and to be higher lvl as the missions get harder. Personally I like exploring, as new areas appear, I just like going and check it out.

The main thing about FFXI is community. You will find all types on here. The addicts like me, the regulars, and the only get on weekend. You have your linkshells which are like a community. We help you out with advice or what have you. Later with missions we can also help there. Both Mr. Anderson & Crash are in my LS. Of course they are regulars. They get on from time to time, but you see them more on CAG and playing other games than me.

It might be sometime before we do another naked race Legion, but I'll make sure. I'm glad /recast has helped you. It's what makes me do the best as a PLD knowing when all my tricks are ready to be used again.

AMC some hate it, some love it, some are indifferent. Not like I say go rent it. If by any chance you have a friend with it ask to make a quick character. He will only get charged a dollar extra (just pay that ya know). Try it out when he isn't playing. If you like it, get it. If not, at least you experienced it. That's all I can say about that pretty much
 
Well put darke, that's basically everything you'd need to know. Also, watch out for special events like giveaways, things can get quite bogged down because there'll be so many people in one area. The Easter eggs giveaway comes to mind, so many people in one area that in the compass it looks like a galaxy.

That would be wonderful! I would get worldpasses for people to join me in Hades, but I just got on last night and my noob ass can't get a pass yet. :oops: Plus I hope you guys play late....like really late, I often can't get on until late at night. Anyone need a late night newborn WHM?

Just got my thf to level 15 =) Treasure hunter sub!!!! I think I will head to Yughut, Palboro, and Giddeus to farm a bit. Anyone need their keys?

Perma-Ban-Syndrome (commonly known as PBS, check penny arcade for further)

Very poor server structure (a butt load of drops, lags, not even being able to log on (lets not even talk about nasty MLK weekend fiasco when hardly anyone could get on and nothng was done for a few days), no one from the Europe can play on US servers.


Yeah it's grand indeed. Maybe in a while it will be worthwhile. Till then, they need togo back to MMorpg school. As it stands EQOA (PS2) has better service structure and intregrity.

Ah yes, another update. Finally...got my Rank 6. About freaking time too.

Got around to doing Genkai IV. Man...easiest advanced test ever...find people. Now looking forward to fighting Maat sometime...not soon...but sometime.

Leading still CrimsonLegion getting my army strong. Need to get the papyrus for my brand new lvl 50s so they can pass their first Genkai. Also need to organize some coffer key hunts for my other linkys.

Doing just about everything and anything, needing to lvl NIN to do some Promys with my linkshell who have become experts in it already. Doing little events as always from Eco Warriors to Run Naked Race through Vanadiel for Valentine's Day yesterday.

I'm considering it. It used to be hell in Qufim, but now with most people gone. I might be able to live with leveling in Qufim.
 
anyone here play on the lakshmi server? i quit a few months back but i wanna get back into the game so i'll be re activating my content ID.

i'm kinda confused though, a few pages back in this thread u guys said if someone was to come back to ffxi in the middle of the month they wouldnt be charged full price (12.95) for just the remaining days. i just called square and the tech guy said that i'd have to pay full price for the rest of this month.

is there anyway to get around this?... o and my accnt info is:
