Glasses or Contacts?

Anybody know a site/store that has cheap glasses and contacts, or a special deal going on lately?
I'm wanting to get contacts and I'll also need an eye-exam to get my prescription. Let me know if anybody has any idea.

I've used Zenni Optical for my last few pairs of glasses, and for the price, it's a great deal. You may need to replace the frames every six-to-nine months, as they are somewhat fragile.

I've ordered from 1-800 Contacts and Vision Direct in the past. Both have been around a while and are cheaper since they are online stores.

If you go here: http://www.1800contacts.com/exam.html?pn=eye exams , they can refer you to a local eye doctor for an exam.

As far as glasses, one of the better deals is when Lenscrafters is running their promo for 50% Off Lenses. That's the best time to get a pair of Transitions photochromic lenses that darken according to how much UV is hitting them. Basically built-in sunglasses that go clear inside.

Same here, for the whopping 30 bucks my last pair cost me I completely don't care if they break. Compared them to my 350 dollar frames I got back in 2000 , thickness of the metal and overall comfort, no difference that I can tell. Even ordered two last time since they were just so cheap. I will say I have not had one pair really break on me, I just have to replace them over the years due to slightly different prescriptions.

You're kidding right? That's the most worthless response. Not flaming you, just your response.

You might as well go to every single post and say: "Be god" then leave.

If you don't have anything useful to contribute, kindly not contribute.

Take care.

I just glanced at the site, do those prices include the lenses? Either way that is crazy, but if it's with lenses.... damn. After insurance my current lenses alone cost $100 or so (New frames would have been another 100, but I kept my current ones since they were fine).

I used Zenni Optical for my last pair of glasses (I actually bought 3 pairs total) and everything arrived perfectly. Each pair was a little over $20 shipped hehe. I bought a two pairs of glasses (one as a spare) and one pair of Rx sunglasses.

sense of humor man, relax deep breath ... laugh a little, it was funny, even if not said in jest but most likely it was. Though I'm not flaming you just what you said ... lol. :hot:

... good luck in your quest for 20/20 OP

Yes they include lenses, takes about 2-3 weeks to arrive at your doorstep but well worth it. JNGX80 is right though, you can't try them on. Helps to have a rough idea of what size you need , once I ordered my first pair I made a note of the size, so when I got another I based it off how comfortable they were.
Wow those prices are cheap...The only thing about buying online is that you can't try it on.
That is true, but I figured I could buy 3 or 4 pairs at the same price for one cheap pair over here. I can use the glasses that don't look that great on me as backups. Lucky for me I was really happy with 2 out of the 3 and I use the one that doesn't look quite right on me as a spare.

If you order from them, be sure to have a friend or somebody you trust measure the distance between your eyes. That's about the only custom fit you'll get from Zunni Optical hehe.
