Glenn Beck will leave FOX News
First Olberman, now Beck? Guess these corporations really do care about making news legitimate...
Hah, are you kidding? Becks ratings had been going down for a while. The things is, how do you top Beck lunacy? They're gonna have to find someone who is pants-on-head fucknuts.
Sorry atheists. You were looking for proof of God's existence? Here it is.
:applause:

Guess I gotta go to church on Sunday now.

Nope. They still care about ratings. Beck's audience had dropped nearly 35-40% since late last year. That's catastrophic. His success was the cause of his own demise - people watched him because he was "revelatory," but then he had to up the ante from time to time in order to keep the car crash appeal of his show going - otherwise viewers would tune out. But eventually viewers either (1) became fatigued trying to keep up with his theories, or more likely (2) they saw through his pablum that he was a shitmeister who was playing the daily "six degrees of barack obama" show, trying anyone and everyone into a grand global conspiracy rooted in progressivism that would have made SMERSH jealous.

Most viewers surely hit a point where he jumped the shark for them, and they thought "you gotta be fuckin' *kiddin* me" in response to a segment of his.

He did serve the goal of being a hate magnet - aside from the "you can't explain the tide" moment, O'Reilly has been more or less off the media radar for the terrible things he says on his show. Mission accomplished.

Also, if they give Beck and Olbermann a co-hosted talk show, I can finally give up watching WWE. Make it happen.

I'd pay to see how Olbermann give Beck a chair to the head. Not like it would do any brain damage...;)

I think he was still pulling around 2 million viewers at 5 pm. I can't remember what the ratings were at 5 pm on FNC before Beck took over that slot, but I'd imagine they were less.

I just think it was about saving face, he was getting too crazy and too embarrassing even for FNC.

There is a zero percent chance that the Republican party, writ large, will present themselves as being against GITMO, the PATRIOT Act, our empire, corporate subsidies, War on Drugs, etc.

Beck was removed because nobody would advertise on his show. That's the only reason he's moving on.

Do you honestly think the Democrats are against the PATRIOT Act? Why on Earth would they give up so much power? And this goes for any Government official, not just them.

To Feeding the Bascess, I'm not saying they will be intellectual libertarians. They will sell themselves as such, and more than enough people may believe it. ( As millions of tea partiers believe that the Republican party is the party of "small government")

Not enough advertising money seems too easy/plain, but you are probably correct. Hopefully Im just being to paranoid and the Republican Party machine isn't that wise.

To KingBroly: You are correct, Democrats are not going to repeal the patriot act. Democrats may imply their opposition to it, but in the end, they won't repeal it.

Good riddance! But Faux News will still misinform with their other morons. But, FN was a convenient to keep all these nutjobs in one place.

I think he's gotten bored with doing the TV show the past 6 months, he's pretty much said so.

The split was a mutual decision, from all accounts. Plus, the TV show is barely a drop in the bucket compared to all of Beck's output and audience.

Of course it's going to be ballyhooed as a victory for people that don't like him, but his media empire and influence is only growing.
