GM says Chevy Volt electric car gets 230 miles per gallon in city
lol @ the dash charging indicator lights.

 I'm sorry, I'm fine with charge indicator lights on my shaver and I'm fine with pushing a start button to turn on my computer but... these things on a car? FAIL.

Also, why the hell do "green" cars have to look so damn butt ugly... ?
how else are you going to note that it's done, no click of the gas handle... hmm? It's better than guessing, and what would you use that dash for anyways, the slope of the glass comparing that to the dash, you'll most likely collect bugs than have anything else useful there. Please inform where else to put them, should you have to hop back in your vehicle to see if it's full? or bend over and peer into that tiny hood and see if a certain like tells you it's full. maybe you want it to say... "hey I'm done", over and over... maybe honk at you... repeatingly till you unhook it... yeah that will work.

And what... are you still wanting a key ? for an electic car? come on, this isn't fail it's the future... how else would you turn on something electic? Would you want to turn on your microwave with a key?

All electric products have a general ON button. Quit letting the key own you.

Green cars are ugly because apparently, Aerodynamics demand it to be.

If you seriously think you can get a truck or hot rod to go 100 per charge on the new electric battery system, you've got a HUGE rude awakening coming up on your next vehicle purchase.

In the "future" sure, we'll have to have some of that stuff, but right now? You can keep all the same amenities about cars just make it a hybrid or electric...

I'm not talking about a truck or hotrod... if you noticed my suggestions on the other page.

Well when do you think the future will happen? Never in the present?

They hybrid Prius has revolutionized the "key" system. NOW.
(I would guess that have a turn key system is past it's prime, and would ultimately be a failed part if needed to be replaced. Another moving component that can be tampered and broken.)

yeah, your suggestions, at least the pic... FUGLY.. and the other cars that you actually suggested, if you mold them for aerodynamics, you basically got the Leaf that you so proudly mocked at.

Few things that impeed performance of a car, friction on the tires, and friction in the air. Reducing drag will improve performance, and making a nice light, sleek car, or Egg shaped is really the only way to go if you want top miles on a hybrid or pure electric car.

Keep rolling...

Oy... I don't know why I bother. I'm giving a suggestion in the DIRECTION we should head. sticking a hybrid or electric power plant in a 4000lbs. "luxury" car and calling it "green" isn't exactly... "efficient", but yeah... people have this idea they are entitled to all this crap that's in cars and that they somehow don't have any effect on their MPG...

As for the car... that is what you call a "concept"... it's not a final design I'd want either, but the over all shape is a lot better than say... an SUV with a hybrid/electric powerplant...

There are plenty of cars that don't have keys already. The keyless entry remote just has a chip in it the car detects and allows it to start when you press a button.

Fine by me, less keys I have to carry the better. Hell even my condo door has a power deadbolt with a 4 digit pin to unlock. Though it also has a key and I carry it since that runs on batteries that could die while out somewhere.

So I fail to see the point of that complain. Nor complaining about a battery meter. It's a must have on any electric or plug in hybrid so you know how much power you have left. Especially electric-only where you have no gas back up and will be stuck if you run out on the road.

I get sick of big key rings with my house key, car key, key my Club (steering wheel lock), mailbox key, office key, class room keys etc. etc.

wow clubs are still being used! Crazy.

Anyway thats a high price for this car, lets see how it does.

If it is outsold what will happen then? Is it due to the banktrupcy, is electric not an option? What will the press be saying in 12 months?

Every little bit helps when it comes to having a thief move onto another car. I lived and worked in the MD DC suburbs and in particular PG county has the highest rate of auto theft in the country (DC was second highest). Its still pretty high in the area I live now so I still use it.
