So I was roaming around after my shift yesterday and decided to swing by Sears (Coon Rapids) as I remember reading not that long ago about some of markdowns they have had on games as of lately. I didn't see much that caught my eye price wise that wasn't found elsewhere for the roughly the same until I walked by the spot where the DS games were located...

Scored:
The Urbs - $9.97
Pac N Roll - $9.97

However... that wasn't my big score.

Right after I got an employee to grab the two games I suddenly noticed two copies of "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance" sitting in a merchadiser of $9.97 titles. However there was NO price on FFTA at all. So I asked the employee if we could check on the price. The game wasn't in the system. So after searching on Sears.com he called over another worker who then repeated what he just did. No biggie. So after that he called a manager over. This to me was starting to get funny... I mean how many employees does it take to get a price on one GBA game, right?

Anyways... she finally comes over. Does the same stuff... again. She then finally calls a nearby Sears where (gasp) they too can't get it to come up in the system. Its only been roughly 15 minutes by now and she see's the long tired look on my face.

Her: You've waited quite a bit.
Me: Yep.
Her: This was in $9.97 games... so we'll sell it for that.

Now yeah they could of done this first but I don't blame them for wanting to verify the right price. I'm cool with that. I'm actually very estatic to finally have FFTA for GBA as a low price like that as I had been waiting to get it on the cheap. The employees were cool the whole time as well as we talked about gaming, HDTV, the weather, and what not while trying to figure out what it was supposed to ring up at.

So thank you Sears for the great deal... and let this something for CAG that sometimes its worth having a little patience in order to grab a great deal. :D

(Plus I wanted to post a positive experience for once.... we never have enough of good stories around here these days)

Not to rain on your parade, but a similar thing happened to me when I went to purchase FFTA and I scored it for $4.97. Though mine was cheaper, $9.97 isn't a bad price for the game.:)

That's even better, but I can settle for $9.97 on it. I'm damn happy to get it for that even. :D
My Sears doesn't even sell video games!!!! What sick town do I live in?
Same here, we got a Small-to-midsize Sears store and they sold a small stock of games for awhile, but then stopped selling them all together. This was no big loss to me since they were always overpriced anyway.

I myself remember my Sears selling them too... a long time ago. They were overpriced, and they still are in the electronics department, at least at mine.

I tried to purchase FFTA from Sears a few months ago. After it didn't scan, the employee was confused as to what he should do. He talked to someone then said he couldn't sell it to me. Then he promptly placed it back on the shelf where someone else could pick it up and not be able to buy it! I called him on it and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I didn't make a big deal about it because I already have this great game, this was going to be a copy for a friend.

At least you had a good experience at Sears. ;)
