GOG Deals Thread

I employ the GOG-for-old-games strategy as well and have bought two games so far that weren't even on my wishlist.  The discounts are really good for individual games!  Most of the time these discounts are only available when you are buying a bundle so I am going to be following this sale closely.  I don't care how spectacular the weather is right now.

Does anyone recommend MoH War Chest or Summoner? I remember Summoner being an early ps2 game if I remember correctly.....looks very, very average now.

anyone recommend Steamworld Dig

I didn't like it personally. Just felt like the whole game was one long grindfest. I've been playing Mines of Mars on my tablet (android) and it's almost identical in some ways, just way better.

Damn you. You just reminded me I'll be AFK doing RL things this weekend!

MoH is a great series. If you can deal with the dated graphics, it's a great series. Better than any of the recent iterations of the franchise.

Looks like they are focusing on newer games for the time being:

Are Nights and Nights 2 prices switched? Nights 2 is $3.99 in the D & D Masterset and Nights is $1.99 right now. I'm hoping they sell them individually too as flash deals at 80% off. Those are the only games I still want out of that bundle.

They've never done that. Your best bet is to find a CAG that own it on GOG who can then buy and gift you the NWNs at the full discount. There are/were a few CAGs around who could do that.

Yeah, I'm seeing Nights Diamond at $1.99 and Nights 2 at $3.99

I have the whole D&D set, so I could certainly help if needed.

Ah, it has come around again. Last year I splurged big-time on GOG summer deals. This year I will probably take it a lot easier. I acquired so much last year that there just isn't going to be much that I feel I need in this sale. I already have all of the Dungeons and Dragons games that they have on sale.

That said, I did get a copy of Ittle Dew on sale. 80% off is hard to pass up, and that game looks like it will be up my alley.

Man I wish those Journeyman Project games were 75% off.  I had one as a kid and hated it because I could never figure out what to do so I would like to see if my adult self has gotten any smarter.

I beat Overlord + Raising Hell. Fun well written, good voice acting. I've heard it compared to pikmin many times, but I never played pikmin.
I played a bit of Overlord a while back, and yes, it's basically Pikmin, only with humor. I should get back to that game sometime.

You can wait for a better sale, they'll all be in one of those all-in promos. They probably didn't do one this time around because Pegasus Prime is still too new.

#PCpleb.

...actually, I've never played Pikmin, either. I'll give this a try, and if I like the formula, maybe I'll try Pikmin. One day. Eventually. Sometime in my expected lifespan.

Has Bloodrayne 1 + 2 been in any bundles?

Bloodrayne 2 is $1.99 right now on GoG - cheapest it's been alone, according to ITAD.

So, are the Bloodrayne games any good...?

I've only played the first on PS2, but it was a competent hack-n-slash for its day. Somewhere between DMC and God of War in terms of how technical the gameplay got, probably erring more on the side of GOW.

The story was silly, but the story for every game of that type back then was silly. The gameplay's definitely going to feel dated compared to modern examples of the genre.

I don't think it's been in any bundles, and yeah, it's definitely the cheapest it's been. Until now, the cheapest I'd seen was $2.99 (for BR2) on GOG, back in March.

I reeeeally like the new Eador... I have like 100 hours in it. The battles, unit variety, tactical/management side of things, etc, all just really awesome. There's no game of the genre that has that awesome feeling of exploration, finding new pieces of equipment for your heroes, running into new enemies, taking on quests, etc. Just a really cool game.

Unfortunately the wild difficulty swings turned me off of it after awhile. It's usually too easy or too hard. I'll go to one world with exactly the same difficulty level and the computer will somehow have an impossibly difficult army almost immediately, and you're screwed. Or you'll fumble around for an hour and come across your opponent, who's still pathetically weak. It's odd.

Still, it's worth playing if you're a fan of that HoMM+Civilization feel. I still love the game.
Love that game too. Is the closest game to MoM I've ever played (ain't played Genesis) and is awesome.

so far I've picked up:

Knock-Knock

American McGee's Grimm

Teslagrad

Evoland

Bloodrayne 1 & 2 cause sexy vampires

I missed this Dungeons and Dragons deal in February. I am glad they brought it back before I go on vacation.

Not sure I'll get anything else from the sale. Maybe, but I really wanted these!

CAG is the reason I signed up for GOG, because they had some penny promo or something. Glad I signed up for the newsletters.

Yea, I would buy more games from gog if they had steam keys. I haven't even played any of my games I got from last sale from gog

King of Dragon Pass is a great game.  Only issue I have is the dude made an iOS version with new content and refuses to update the PC version because he lost the source code or he's too lazy or some other crappy excuse.  Red Shirt is pretty stupid... messed around with it for thirty or so minutes after getting it in a Groupees.  Still not sure what it's about... a Facebook simulator?

In a store brand Star Trek setting, yes.

(It might actually be more appropriate to call it a LinkedIn simulator, though.)
