Well I received an email from Hastings in my email this morning that they are having a 30% off sale on Used Games, Movies, and Music. But for some reason I just can't seem to get it to work. So just giving people a heads up for the time being and if anyone else can get it to work, or if I can get it to work, I'll update everyone. So for everyone who is interested, start planning. :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

Edit: After talking to customer service, with an actual helpful person. Promo code is actually just 321, instead of what was in the email which was 321321. And also thanks for reminding me estofan that the 30% is for used products only, but will take 10% for new products too. Anyways, enjoy!

If you are using the full code 321321 as stated on the site, try just 321. Ran into the same issue myself, and after talking to customer service, I was told to try just 321 and it worked just fine.

Yesterday when I made my order, the site was VERY slow. It took me about half an hour to get everything done and I knew exactly what I wanted.
 
Picked up Uncharted, Dead Space and SW:Force Unleashed. $47 total including shipping. I might order more if the games are in good condition. Thanks for posting this deal.
 
I see the "Usually ships within 24 hours" has changed to "Usually ships within 48 hours". Not that I'm in a hurry or anything, since I got other games and school to focus on. I haven't seen anything that says when this deal is over though, does anyone know?

Agree with Fireshot, might order a few more games if it lasts into next week.

Its most likely a labor day weekend sale to tell you the truth. Hastings themselves state on their twitter page that its a labor day sale, so probably when after labor day the sale will be over. But of course there is nothing anywhere on the site or in the email that states when the sale is over so we'll have to see. I'll just have to keep it posted and keep you updated on when it ends.

Does their refund include the original shipping fee or just the original price of the game? I want to order an old PS2 game but am concerned about being out $3 if the game is in bad condition and needs to be returned.

Well it depends if you are returning the whole transaction or just one game. They will refund you the original shipping too if you return the whole transaction, but they won't pro rate you back the shipping if you refund part of the transaction.

Thanks for the answer. Does Hastings support exchanges? I could only find info about returns on their website.
 
The only used game I ordered from hasting the other day got here fast, and came in great condition.

Now I need to just call up gamefly about the copy of resistance 2 I bought from them havning a crack in it
 
Just got my first game today but it was the wrong game, I ordered Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and got Castlevania: Curse of darkness instead.:cry: Oh well hopefully i can send it back and get the right one. (already own curse of darkness otherwise i would just keep it.)

Anyone else receive a wrong game before?

Yeah, this happened with DQ:IV DS when the first sale happened, and pretty much they just said they have no more in stock and just return the game. Their website does have these hitches sometimes, so if you try to order it again even though it says in stock, it may arrive as the wrong game again. But rarely happens.
 
Thanks for posting this, picked up some blus. Free shipping would make this absolutely killer, but still a good deal. Now just hoping for good condition.

They sent me a scratched up disc that isn't working. If I call them will they send me a replacement copy without me having to send them the damaged game first? It was only $5 so if I send it back to them I'll end up paying double what I paid for the game in the first place.

They pay for any shipping if you have to do a return or exchange.
 
I finally talked myself into placing an orde today, and the coupon switched to 20% off. Still some good deals to be found, but not quite as hot.
 
Yea they definitely switched it to 20% off...which stopped me from placing my order. thats just wrong. why would they change it?! maybe ill call....

I was having problems yesterday until I checked off the box at the bottom of the shopping cart that said I certify I am over 17 as I was ordering some Mature games. Then the code applied without a problem. But anyway, it is down to 20% on used games.

Good luck. The sale isn't on ALL DVDs, etc.. It's on the "Used DVD Favorites" category. If you follow the actual link for the sale from the banner ads (where it says "click here to see QUALIFYING titles"), you will see what's eligible or the discount. It looks like about 2/3 of the stuff on the site qualifies. In general, no DVD box sets qualify, but some movies don't, either. Now I'm not saying you can't whine your way into a discount with a CS rep on the phone, but there's nothing wrong with the site not discounting it.

Yeah, I've found the sale doesn't seem to include anime in general. I tried with Blue Sub No 6, Outlaw Star and a handful of others. Everything else in my cart has a discount though.
 
Got my order of 4 original Xbox games and about 3 Blu-Rays today, all in separate packages -- all I can say is WOW.

Everything complete with manuals and boxes, the Blu-Rays are absolutely mint -- none of them look used at all.

I'll be going back for more :)
 
Got 1 of the 2 games I ordered today (Devil May Cry 4). Absolutely perfect condition with the manual and case intact. Very happy. Just waiting on Left 4 Dead now.
 
I ordered 4 used games on Thursday, and 3 of them arrived today (each in a separate padded mailer). All had cases, manuals, and were in very good to excellent condition. Unless my 4th game arrives in much worse condition, I'm quite happy with Hastings!
 
Update on my order- I ordered PS3 Bioshock new and Uncharted used on Friday. Bioshock came today in a padded mailer, and it had its slip cover, case, and manual but no shrink wrap around the box so I thought that was kind of weird (everything was in perfect/mint condition, though). I'm still waiting for Uncharted, but based off of everyone else's comments, I'm not too worried that it's going to be incomplete or damaged.

Put my order in for 30 games, mostly cheap Xbox/PS2. Notes:
1) Each one arrived individually... (I'm still missing 9, though I assume they'll show up in a few more days.)
2) The GBA game was in box, but the box arrived crushed. (It was shipped in a padded envelope, which is not the best idea.)
3) Everything else had at least the original art, although some were in generic cases. Some were missing the manual, but I don't care about that.
4) Some games were obviously from smoking households.
 
Got my 3 games today, all complete with the case/manual and discs were scratch free. Very happy I'll definatly buy from them again :D
 
My mgs4 arrived shrinkwrapped, and my used dynasty warriors 5 arrived looking like there was just one previous owner - full manual and case, no visible scratches or gunk on disc. I'll try it out later, but so far the 30%/10% Hastings deal gets a thumbs up from me.

That's the same combo I was looking at last week in anticipation for the BB BOGO 50% off...

You missed a hell of a deal last week on go hastings with the 30% off used games. For MGS4 (new) I paid $18 and for Uncharted (used) I paid a little over $17, so after shipping it was a little under $40.

I just checked gohastings.com and it looks like the price for both of the games went up. So depending on your tax at BB, you might be paying a couple dollars more at BB, but both will be new, and you won't have to wait for shipping times. So if the difference turns out to be a few extra bucks, I'd say get'em new at BB with the BOGO 50% off - if they're in stock

Just had Ratchet & Clank: TOD PS3 and BioShock PS3 both arrive today, personally I was surprised that the slideover box was still with bioshock, thinking I'd just get the plastic case, game and manual only. The slideover box was in good condition.

Now the actual game cases for both games is pretty much excellent, and both came with a manual, which were also in excellent condition as well as the game discs themselve. They are practically new. None of the "sticky residue" on anything either, I'm assuming those people who got that live in an area with high temperatures, and their envelopes just melted a bit or something.

Definitely thinking about ordering with the current 20% deal, would recommmend this place's used games if anyone was on the fence about it.

Just got my second game yesterday (Left 4 Dead regular edition). Absolutely no complaints at all. The first game came within about 2 days of ordering. The second came about a week later. I can't complain considering that there was a holiday in there to muck things up.

Yeah, you need to be careful with the Special Edition and bundle stuff. Hastings never seem to be able to get those right every time. In the previous threads, I don't think any of the people that have ordered the special edition or bundle have received the correct ones.

As far as the sequel thing goes, I think it may have happened once or twice before, but Hasting seems to have a problem with organizing anything that have the same name. They really need to just read what people are saying in these threads and fix them accordingly, or at least try to.

I can't complain since I've had a great experience with Hastings myself, but it just seem like a toss up for most people.

That Hasting rep they have for this site has never really seemed to be very helpful. Only comes on like sometimes to make one or two posts in these threads, and they are normally very broken down replies and very unclear replies.
 
I sent them an email about one of my games that arrived with deep scratches on the disc and they gave me a refund without having me send back the original copy, which was nice of them. I used the refund to buy another used copy of the same game which arrived today in almost mint condition :D. I suppose it was just luck that the second copy didn't have scratches, but in the end I got what I wanted without having to pay anything extra so I'm happy.
