Going to a Halo 2 release party at your local store? Share your stories here....

I was behind the counter at my EB store for Midnight Maddess. It was a great turnout for our store. We had guys camping outside our store, with a tv and lawnchairs, playing (what else) Halo. Overall about 100 guys showed up, and it was a great crowd.

Some of the more crazy Halo fans were getting a little restless while the hours ticked away. We gave them an empty shipping box that the games came in and they almost creamed their pants.

We gave away t-shirts, games, posters and 2 very large banners (with GTA on one side and Halo on the other).

After it was over, I downed a shot of Jack and went to bed, only to be back at work at 7am :(
I went to Target and bought it in the morning @10:30...

No 'hero' factor for standing in line here - I'm lazy! !!!
I went to target and got it at 4:30 PM... I win, im more lazy!!

I drove to BB after school on tuesday, picked up a LE copy, and left. It was a very peaceful experience. I then played for a couple hours straight. Good stuff.
Strange... I woke up this morning, and played... Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal... my Halo 2 LE is STILL sealed... my guide is STILL sealed... my T-shirt is STILL sealed... am I just oblivious or what?
The day after I purchased GTA: San Andreas, I was playing Katamari Damacy. I finally opened and started playing GTA: SA about three days after I bought it. I wanted to finish the game, beat some old records and roll up some stuff I didn't find before I got too involved in SA.

You know, it's funny- I walked into one of the NY Gamestops to ask them about MGS 3, around, oh, 3 in the afternoon- when I saw some 30 people inside, I asked one of the girls what was going on, but mid-asking I realized- H2 came out today. Jeezus.

She didn't have time to answer my question, as they were too busy shilling copies behind the counter, so I went to another one around the block.

Now this one claimed they had 800+ people outside their store, which I seriously doubted.

The funny thing is, that same day I went to a CC and a Kmart AND another GS closer to my place, and none of them had lines. NONE. And they had plenty of copies on the shelf, all selling for 49.99.

I think I'm going to pick up my MGS 3 somewhere OTHER than a game shop Tuesday.

I stopped by best buy after work (5:30?) on the 9th and they had 2 or 3 copies of the limited edition and maybe 10 copies of the regular edition still left for people who didn't preorder. I was able to get a copy in about 5 minutes total time.

There was about 500 people at my gamestop. I went to a buddies house who lived a block away and watched some comedy central, came back at 1:10am, and there was about 80 left. They had some stupid system where if you bought the whole game in advance you could walk right in. I had pre-paid about %75 of it but that didnt count. When i got inside they asked for my name, which i gave them and the woman(older, heavyset) handed my copy to the employee(yes, there was a huge chain of beaurocracy)who then handed it to the cashier and then he was about to give my copy to someone else, and the the lady corrected them both, came over to me in line and put her arm around me and said, "no this gentlemen" and they had a light arguement for 15 seconds while she was groping me. I had felt violated. But then again she may have been the owner/district manager, or someone of importance.

Maybe i can get some free games out of this.
Anyways i slipped her my number and an asking price, and i was out of the store and on my way to play halo 2!
