GONE Ikaruga GameCube $14.99 + $3.95 Shipping Outpost.com

Actually, shipping starts at $3.95, as I just found out. For some reason they bump it up to $5.37. Checked the shipping rates, and it says that a typical dvd (or vg, in this case, 1lb) would be $3.95. So what I paid, according to the table, is between 3 and 6 lbs....for one Ikaruga. Still picked it up for my bf, but they're kinda false advertising on there. :? I mean, one video game is not more than 1 lb.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that. I would contact cust srvc and tell them you want to be reimbursed. There's no way that game weighs more than 1 pd. And wouldn't a game be the same as a DVD (or DVD-like) movie anyway?

what's so good about Ikaruga? Can someone tell me why they like it or how this game is different from, say, Raiden or one of those other airplane shooters from arcade games? I also heard it was really short.
No reason not to own Ikaruga. I pity anyone who doesnt have it.
Uh, sure there is. It's one hard damned game, takes hours upon hours of memorization, and is, for the lack of a better word, for the hardcore.

This is the response I got:

Thank you for contacting Outpost.com.

Please note that the Airborne Ground shipping rate is based on weight
and the distance of the delivery address from the warehouse in Ohio.

Eh, it's only an extra dollar or so anyway, we still got it. It's just that they don't really make that clear on their site. Oh well! Thanks for the deal, NintendoFanGirl!! :)

Don't feel bad. If you end up liking it, you'll realize it was worth every penny. If not, you can always sell it back on ebay for about the same price.

Haven't tried DC version. But yes, you can. There are 3 horizontial modes in case you don't like the black bars much.

Yes you can make the screen Horizontal, I flipped my TV on it's side and it's really fun (and funny which people ask why the tv is sitting like that).

I imported the game when it was first released on the cube, but dam i'd like the US version too... hmm what to do..
Is the only way to get the screen horizontal to flip the tv on its side ?

I have the DC version. I would play it with my computer monitor (using VGA box) turned vertically and using the official Arcade stick, it don't get much better than that. :D
