Hey guys,
This is my first post and I'm looking into buying a 32 inch LCD tv that'll really show off the ps3's blu ray capability, but for around 900-1000 dollars..I was wondering if you guys had some input as to what to look at.....thanks

For 900-1000 look at 42" you wont be sorry. They should be doable for a quality one at that size.

Is 32" as large as you can go?

I got a 37" 1080p for $700 about 18 months ago. Looks pretty damn good for the price. I'm sure you can do better than that at this point. That was from CostCo.com, by the way.

Are you open to online stores? Because usually you can get better prices online.

I'd recommend this if you want a B&M store.

That's probably one of the better deals you'll get in your price range for an LCD. But I would consider Plasmas too if I were you... they generally have better picture quality and are cheaper for larger sizes.

Also, if money is tight, you can get a 720p resolution LCD for a few hundred dollars less. At this range, 720p and 1080p really depend on how close you'll sit to the TV (the closer you sit, the more notable the difference).

With blu rays, which are made to be displayed at 1080p, on a 720p wont there be some blurring or bluriness due to the downconversion that happens?

If you don't mind 720p or 1080i and the Vizio brand name, Wal-Mart has the 32' LCD for $397. Supposedly the Plasma is going to be around the same price. The reason for the low price is because newer models should be out in the next few months. I've had my Vizio for 8 months now and no problems and most people have had no problems outside of the lines through the component switch. Vizio would have been a laugh a few years ago (Many 50 inch Plasmas for example had problems) but they seem to be worth it now and they have been getting better ever year. If my set lasts me five or six years thats good enough imho because by then something else will be out that I want.

No there wont be from my understanding... what are you watching the blus on a PS3?

Oh and Toshiba makes some top quality stuff as well... the general rule is Panasonic/Samsung/sony are top tier. Right there near them is Toshiba without the price tag.
