I would highly recommend the Panasonic ST50 series. I love the image quality, and I'm pretty picky. Many have called it the best deal for a television considering what you get, and I have to agree with them. Not sure if you can get at 60" for $1000, but it shouldn't be too much more than that. I bought a 50" for $800 myself, and that was just a couple weeks ago.
