Good, cheap, low req, online co-op games?

CAGiversary!
My best friend's birthday is coming up, and we love playing Co-Op games over the internet. His computer is ... uh... rather slow - he can't even run Battlefield 1942 very well.

Can anybody offer suggestions for a decent and very low requirement game for the PC that features an online co-op mode? Either bots or missions.

[Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, I don't usually make topics here and this one seemed the most fitting]

I don't know of too many with bots and/or missions. I don't remember since I haven't played them in a while but did the original Dooms or Unreal or Quakes come with bots. i think maybe the latter two did, but I'm not sure. Also this is the right forum for PC info and PC game info.

There is a Half-Life mod called Sven co-op...its been a couple years since i've tried it; but it was pretty good then and they just had a new release a while ago. The mod itself is free, but you would both need a copy of Half Life to play it.

Edit: hiccupleftovers' post reminded me that Quake 2 had a co-op mode you can play...you may even find a copy @ wal-mart/k-mart in with the jewel case games.

CS: CZ has bots... CS doesn't Both dont have co-op online tho

I just bought James Bond: Everything or Nothing. It has a cooperative mode that can be played on the same screen or online. It's a lot of fun and the missions are much different than the single player.

Actually its Serious Sam: First Encounter and Serious Sam: Second Encounter... but they're both the shizz-nitty. Can't go wrong with them, or get them both in Serious Sam Gold.

Serious Sam co-op is great. Hell, even if you wanted to you could play co-op on the same computer.

I could be wrong but the original Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear for PC might have co-op mode, and they have been out long enough that your friend's rig should be able to handle it. I also agree with Starcraft and Diablo 2 picks. Plus you just plug into B.Net, so it should be pretty easy to just get up and play.
