I just read the post about Bombastic being 9.99 @ EB today, so I rushed out to go get it. Once I got there, I also recalled the E-reader cards being clearenced out so I also asked for those ^^ However, the only decent thing there was Mario Party-e cards for 50 cents and Bombastic....until I spotted these 3 kids w/ some kind of GBA acessory in their hands. I milled around them inconspiciously, trying to figure out what it was since the package had japanese characters all around it
I finally got so fed up that I just went out and asked them what it was. They actually opened the package up and showed me....and omg...it was a Halo light! And not just any Halo light...A $3.99 HALO LIGHT!! Soo, I begged my dad for the money, and made outta EB like a bandit w/ my new treasure.
MINI REVIEW ON THE HALO LIGHT:
-It's pretty bright on max contrast (yes, there is a dial in which you can adjust the brightness!!), but it washes the color out a bit more than on the SP. A small price to pay for the value!
-VERY VERY easy to install. Of course, if I could find an afterburner kit, I'd take it in a second, but alas, I have no other recourse, so the Halo is a very good alt.
-It's frontlit (or w/e). Much much better than the GBA light accessories that hook up to the ext. port. Much less glare.
I haven't had it for long yet, so I dont' know about battery life. I highly suggest anyone using the Halo or Afterburner to invest in some recharable 3rd party GBA batteries. In fact, I suggest that to anyone w/ a GBA, period, regardless of light or not. It's very economical, as no one uses GBA much anymore, everywhere is pretty much clearencing them out. I got a set of about 3 recharable batteries (they're one piece, not 3 recharable AA batteries...uh...hard to explain) for only about 10 bucks!! Imagine how much everyone else will save in the long run by just recharging instead of buying batteries all the time!! -end enviromental rant-
