If you have to choose between volume 1 and volume 2, go with 2. The writing is of a consistently higher quality. I can't comment on the not-yet-released volume 3.

Season one is 29.99 at Target, along with 9.99 other batman titles. I can highly recommend Return of the Joker, good soundtrack, good story.
