Good deals on classic SNES games like Contra 3, or Secret of Mana...

Gnomeslayer

CAGiversary!
I'm looking for good deals on classic SNES games like Contra 3, Castlevania 4, Secret of Mana and all those old classics. Does anyone know of any sites where I can pick up games like that for cheap or for a decent price? Thanks in advance.

Damn im also looking for these great games. I love the snes its all i see myself playing now. I do own all the next gen consoles, but i dotn like them as much as oldschool gamming.

sailor chrono im interested if you do find it. Also buy whatever snes games or psone games are there and id pay nicely.

Castlevania 4 and Contra III were re-released by Majesco a few years back and were bargain bin fodder at Toys R US...some copies still might be still sitting in stores.

Secret of Mana is a tough one, it's got a high demand and since Gamestop is ditching their SNES stock it'll be a little hard to find with some discounts/specials. Your probably best off hitting ebay and trying to find the game buried in a lot or one with a low BIN price.

San Jose Flea Market = the best. Biggest flea market in the world (supposedly). Too bad parking is $5 otherwise I'd be there a lot more...

What exactly is a swap meet, I don't think I've ever heard of it before....do they have them in the Kansas City area? *crosses fingers*

I know I have to go down there sometime beerguy. I tried the Concord Flea Market last weekend and found total garbage in terms of video games, one kid as trying to sell me MIB 2 and Stuntman for $10 apiece! Thing is its like an hour away, so I'd have to get up really early... :x

Try flea markets, pawn shops, and even thrift stores, and cross your fingers.

I got Castlevania IV used for $8 a few months back. Don't own Secret Of Mana or Contra III yet, but someday...

If you can drive, just take a random trip around your local area on a Sunday. Yard/Tag/Garage sales are great places to find good deals on used games. I've found some amazing deals before. It's where I got a Square Package of FF2/3, Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana and Evermore, and Chrono Trigger for $15. It's really hit or miss, but when you hit you can hit big.

They all worked flawlessly. There were some other games in the box, but I already had most of them. The guy wanted $3 a piece but even at that I offered less :)

How much are these old games worth? I'm playing Secret of Evermore right now, and it's probably one of the better games I've ever played.

Sometimes what happens to me at Gamestop is that I will be there when someone is trading in games and I see something I want. I tell them I'll give them more than Gamestop will and we go deal outside. It may be mean and Gamestop may hate me, but it's legal. I ended up getting Contra 3, Chrono Trigger, and a few other good SNES games(not to mention some other games on other systems). I got Contra for 4.50 and CT for like 12 I think. If you don't have a problem doing something like that, take every opportunity you can!

I am very anal collector and have found that if you have patience and are willing to work hard and ask the right questions you can score some amazing deals if you look around.

For example, I just got a sealed Ninja Turtles 3 (right here in my hands too!) for $13.

A couple months a go I got a sealed Mario Bros. 3 for $20.

And just recently I got a Sealed Zelda A Link to the Past for $11.

Although you cheap asses may not think they are bargain deals I scored a lots of old snes games from collectors. They liked me, so I got a good deal, imo. These include Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy III, Kirby Superstar, Illusion of Gaia, and a few others. These were all immaculate! Nintendo Promos, Registration cards, the infamous Nintendo Power inserts, etc.... I'm happy that is for sure :)

Screw the new gen crap! Just give me a N64, SNES, and NES and I am set for life.
