Hey everyone... I am looking for an engagement ring for my gf and was wondering where is the best place to get a good deal on a ring under $1k. I saw some good prices for under 1k with like 1 year no interest payments. Should I go find something on black friday or wait out for another post-bf deal?

thanks

hm, that's the kind of thing it'd best to do in person, so it might just boil down to you having to check out a few places on your own. I'm not aware of any good deals myself, sorry i can't help. And congrats dude, i'm sure she'll say yes

i got my wedding band from a great store online called pompeii3.

the place is really inexpensive for what you get. it was about half the price of brick and mortar retailers like ones you find at the mall. they melt and mold their own precious metals, so the middleman is eliminated and they pass the cost savings onto the customer.

i got a 6 gram 14k gold ring for 255 bucks. the price of gold has gone up since though. every other comparable ring in other stores at the time was 400-800 bucks.

they offer stones too, not just metals, so they can make an engagement ring.

If you're looking for a ring in the price range of under $1k, you're going to get a pretty barebones ring with a tiny useless rock with so-so clarity and so-so brilliance in a white gold setting. If you break up, the ring will trade-in for about half its purchase price. I know you're not socially conscious and wouldn't care where the rocks come from, but if you HAVE to get a ring, I would recommend an artificial diamond. You'll get much more bling for the buck and its even more ecologically responsible. Otherwise, go to one of those mall jewelry shops and try not to get ripped of.

If you're looking for a "sale," look in a Macys flyer for one.

And since its less than $1k, I wouldn't bother with insurance.
