Good easy games for non-gamers?

I am trying to get my mom into playing DS games. I gave her my DS and she really loves Clubhouse Games. I want to expand her interest in games so I got her a few other games as well. One was Zoo Keeper (which she loves), but the time limits make it too difficult for her at times. Are there any options to turn off the time limits (or any other modes of play)? The next games were Brain Age and Big Brain Academy (which she didn't like at all). I also showed her Warioware Touched! (which she hated). She also played Meteos and she found it to be dumb. She simply rubbed the DS stylus on the screen really fast and didn't really "get" the point of the game. I also showed her Cooking Mama, but my mom didn't like that game either (even though she likes to cook). It is also pretty difficult to please Mama.

So, are there any other games that I should consider showing her? I was thinking Magnetica and Pokemon Trozi would be good for her (are the simple and easy?). What else would be good?

Sounds like both of them are pretty hard to please! ;) ikik

I was going to say Brain Age as my top pick, so *shrug*. Sounds like you need a really easy game with intuitive/simple controls so you seem to be on the right track with your thought process anyway.

I would say have her try Kirby Canvas Curse, but while pretty intuitive it quickly gets difficult so I wouldn't go there. Maybe one of the Phoenix Wright games? I think she'd either really like them and really get into it or quickly toss them aside.

Haha. Yeah, they are both hard to please :).

I sent my mom my copy of Kirby: CC, but I don't think she tried it yet. I will ask her to play it and see what happens. I will also see what happens with Phoenix Wright. It has a lot of reading though and it seems that my mom doesn't like to read when playing a game. She was surprised when I showed her games have stories in them.

I was also thinking of buying Monkey Ball, though I hear the game is bad. Super Monkey Ball 2 was the one game she played on my GameCube.

If nothing else works, I will just give my mom my M3 Simply and load it with homebrew games.

Hmm, what about Animal Crossing: Wild World or Nintendogs? Both are pretty accessible to non-gamers, although Nintendogs gets repetitive fast. If she's a dog person, though, it may be worth a shot.

I'd still have her try Phoenix Wright, if you have a copy she can easily check out, but yeah reading is obviously key to them.

Zoo Keeper is like bejeweled right? Then she might like Puzzle Quest, but OTOH I could easily see her saying something like "Why do I want to fool with all this extra stuff when I can just pop in ZK and simply play the puzzle game?"

well of course, tetris. but maybe you could try hotel dusk room 215? my mom doesn't play games AT ALL but while I was home for my christmas break from college, there where a few nights where I couldn't find my ds. lo and behold, I found my mom sitting in the living room playing hotel dusk for hours.

Puyopuyo? I imported the newest anniversary one and it's quite fun. Find a used Puyo Fever if English is preferred.

Would she freak over Metroid Pinball? As simple or as skilled as you like to play it.

Princess Peach is rather accessible too.

Erm, Quickspot?

Mega Man ZX!

Er, just kidding on that one.

Everyone loves New Super Mario Brothers. It's not difficult and just about everyone recognizes those universally-loved plumbers.
