Good time to buy an iPod?

meh, i won a 2gb newer nano last night from a buddy playing poker. My one question (i never owned an ipod b4), is there a program that lets you drag and drop music onto the player rather than syncing it with itunes?

Thing is, I don't even buy CDs any more (nor do I download stuff). Music is just not a priority for me any more. [/quote]

Music really isn't a priority for me either. But I recently started listening to podcasts. Before I got my Zen stone I was pretty much tethered to my computer to listen to 2 hr podcasts. Plus some of them had profanity so I couldn't just turn up the speakers and listen. So yeah, I can see why some people consider little devices a necessity.

Hehe, the only 'cast I listen to is the CAGcast, and I've only been doing that for the last few months. I like to listen to it late at night when Cheapy releases it and I'm alone in my office trying to do work. So the computer suits me fine for it. But yeah, I could see the use of an iPod or "iPod-like device" ;) for listening to them, say, while commuting or something. Thing is, my commute consists of walking down the stairs...

I have to say the same... at least NEW music... most downloads over the past few years has been unreleased things or older music I didnt have... Im at that age where most new music sucks and I can't stand most radio stations, but I have thousands of older songs on my ipod that I love, but for the most part I listen to podcasts of Don and Mike, or torrents of Ron and Fez in the car and at work where I have one of those mini speaker set ups

Got a dozen or so movies on it as well, although I want a bigger viewing screen (which is one of the big rumors for newer ipods) so I would probably give my wife my older 60gb one

I listen to that and the 1up one, which is often a 2 & half hour extravaganza. Also I'm jealous of your commute.
