Google vs. Yahoo...which do you prefer?

Pagerank can be abused. Not very trustworthy because of it. Just look at the failure im feeling lucky thing, or the weapons of mass destruction thing. Just cause its true doesnt make it a valid reason to abuse the system.
 
I prefer google because it displays the information without too much extraneous stuff on the page.


Also, I walked past the original Google storage array every day for a couple of years. Something like that is bound to have some kind of effect.

I use Yahoo and I enjoy searching through Yahoo because I have been doing it for years. Though they do have too many ads at times I still prefer to use Yahoo.
 
Personally, I hate both. I use MSN if I'm lazy, or Lycos if MSN doesn't give me what I'm looking for. I don't like the feel, look, mass market nature or anything else about yahoo or google.

I do have Yahoo News on my RSS feed, but for sites I actively hit for news, I start with Drudge then go to MSNBC.com, although I don't like the changes they've made over the last year or so.
 
I used to use Altavista pretty exclusively, until at work one day some guy was using Google (this was about 5 or 6 years ago) to search for Microsoft Knowledge Database stuff because MS's own search engine was so junky that Google was easier to use to search with. Since then I'm not sure I've ever used a search engine other than Google. It's been kept clean and organized (something neither Altavista or Webcrawler could claim), is fast, and usually has what I'm looking for in the first 3 pages, if not the first 5 results.

Yahoo? It was nice way back in the day when it was a ranked index of sites on the web. Things just got too big too quickly though and their methods couldn't keep up.

I only use Google now. I used to use Yahoo a while ago when I was in school but Yahoo has too much other shit on their site. I like that google just has the search engine on the home page and that's pretty much it. I felt like I was getting spammed on Yahoo for some reason. Much too cluttered. When I go on there for fantasy leagues it seems nothing has changed so I stick with google.
 
google- basically I like their homepage, its simply about a search, no ads, no news, no mail, just a search engine.
 
I pick yahoo, because of the mail box and the weather and all of the other options. Now google has the upper hand on the pictures, but yahoo overall to me is better.
